Happy Little Stampers ~ December Anything Goes With Dies Challenge

It's the last month of 2023. How are your Christmas preparations coming along? Hoping you might have some time to craft with us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies Challenge.

Here's my card

When I saw stitching on cards, I thought that's not me. However, I keep seeing it and then thought, well, maybe I should try. It's kind of addicting. I started with Spellbinders' Stitched Poinsettia & Holly die set. I die cut the poinsettia petals from two shades of red and two leaves from two shades of green. I used DMC Diamant Grande thread I purchased from Michaels. Of course, the needle that fit through the holes would only take one strand of the six strands of the thread. So, yes, I untwirled the thread to separate the strands. I used a bit of double-sided tape on the reverse side to hold the end of the strand and another piece to hold the other end of the strand in place. I stacked the two sets of red pedals to create my flower and placed the two leaves. I glued these pieces in place on a medium gray A2 card panel. I die cut the center of the flower using the same die set from a scrap of gold cardstock and glued it in place. I heat embossed the sentiment using Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes stamp set and gold embossing powder. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your die cut creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ December Stencil Challenge

Hope you're ready for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.

Here's my card. It would be perfect for a little boy who likes trucks and excavators or maybe a big boy who works in construction.

For my card, I used Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Construction Trucks stencils and distress inks (mustard seed, black soot, brushed corduroy) applied with oval ink blending brushes on white cardstock. I trimmed the white cardstock to 4 1/4" x 3" and matted with black cardstock leaving a thin border on the top and bottom. I stamped the sentiment using Papertrey Ink's Keep It Simple: Birthday stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink on a yellow A2 card panel. I adhered the matted construction vehicles to the yellow panel using double sided tape and then the yellow panel to a white A2 card base also using double sided tape to complete my card.

We'd love to see your stencilled cards in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ December Christmas Challenge

Yeah - we've made it to December. Christmas is now just around the corner. Hoping you can find some time in your craft space to do some papercrafting. We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge.

Here's my card including a festive animal

For my card, I used Your Next Stamp's Believe in the Magic stamp set. I stamped the reindeer with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with Copic markers - C5, E25, E33, E50, R29, RV02. I added a bit of sparkle with a gold glitter gel pen on the bells around the reindeer's neck. For the nose, I added a red pompom for fun. Now, clearly, I can not mail this card in a standard envelope.

Here's a close up.

I trimmed the white cardstock to 2 3/4" x 4" and added a thin black mat behind it. On a white top fold A2 card base, I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set with gold embossing powder. To complete the card, I adhered the matted reindeer panel with double-sided adhesive.

We'd love to see your Christmas card in our gallery. Will you add a festive animal or not?

Happy Little Stampers ~ December Birthday Challenge

Are you like me? I'm always looking for birthday cards. If you are, we'd love for you to join our challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Woodware's Three Little Birds stamp. I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a 96 lb bristol panel as I was planning on doing some watercoloring. I smooshed distress ink on a plastic place mat and picked up the ink with a wet paint brush and applied it to the bristol panel. I used tumbled glass, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon, salty ocean, blueprint sketch, faded jeans, mowed lawn, mustard seed, fossilized amber and seedless preserves distress inks. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches' Birthday Buddies stamp set. I adhered the bristol panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided adhesive to complete my card.

We'd love to see your birthday creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ December Watercolour Challenge

We've made it to December. Almost time to say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024. It's time for our last challenge of 2023 at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with an A2 panel of white 96 lb bristol. I smooshed some distress ink on a plastic place mat, picked up some ink with a wet paint brush and put down a blob of color. I went in rainbow order, slightly overlapping as I went - kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, twisted citron, peacock feathers, wilted violet. I waited for the bristol to dry. I die cut the word "happy" using a happy die that I think might have been a My Favorite Things die-namics, but I no longer have the packaging so I'm not 100% sure. I die cut the word three times and glued them together for a bit of dimension. I stamped the "for you" using Simon Says STAMP's Happy stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink.

We'd love to see your watercolour projects in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies November Challenge

There is a new challenge for those who like die-cutting over at Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies

In keeping with my favorite style - clean and simple, here's my card.

I started by die cutting the flower and frame using Simon Says STAMP's Sweet Tulip die three times from white cardstock. I glued the layers together to stack them for a little dimension. I ink blended some white cardstock using distress inks - picked raspberry, mustard seed, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers applied with oval ink blending brushes. I measured the inside dimension of the rectangle and cut the ink blended piece to that dimension. I then glued the ink blended rectangle to a white A2 card base and then glued the die cut in place. I was so concerned about centering the image that I didn't leave a "good" place for a sentiment, so I left this card without a sentiment.

We'd love to see your "anything goes with dies" card in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ November Stencil Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.

Here's my card

I have to say that using layering stencils to separate colors, instead of using bits of post-it tape to separate the colors, really makes the adding of colors easy. For my card, I used Lawn Fawn's Tropical Leaves background stencil (2 layers) and distress inks - tisted citron, cracked pistachio, abandoned coral, mustard seed, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I trimmed the inked panel to 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" and matted with black cardstock. The sentiment uses Simon Says STAMP's Flower Friend stamp set. I adhered the matted ink panel to a bright green A2 card panel with double sided tape. To complete my card, I adhered this panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your stenciled creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ November Christmas Challenge

How are you Christmas cards coming along? Have you started yet? I'm about halfway through. At Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge, we have a new challenge for November.

Here's my card

I went for a nativity card. I used Woodware's Mary and Joseph. I stamped it on a white A2 card panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added color with Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. I trimmed the white panel slightly and matted with a black A2 card panel. I then adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your Christmas creations in our gallery this month. Will you use our Optional Twist of "Bah Hum Bug"?

Happy Little Stampers ~ November Birthday Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel and Pink & Main's Mask It Circle stencil. I added color with Salty Ocean distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the little monster, I used Your Next Stamp's Way Cool Monster stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink stamped on some white cardstock. I used the same stamp set to add the sentiment on the little monster's sign. I added color with Copic markers - E33, E50, G14, Y06, YR04 and then fussy cut the monster. I popped the little monster with dimensionals and placed it in the center of the inked circle. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your birthday creation(s) in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ November Watercolour Challenge

Wait ... November, really? Wow, this year has been flying by. I guess it's time for a new challenge at Happly Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I used Scrapbook & Cards Today's Beautiful You stamp set which I received as part of Crop & Create Delivered March 2022 event. I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink on 140 lb Strathmore watercolor paper and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Optional theme of Emboss - done! I added colour with a paint brush, some water and distress inks - wilted violet, picked raspberry, twisted citron, mowed lawn, mustard seed, carved pumpkin, tumbled glass, abandoned coral. I smooshed ink from the cube onto a plastic place mat and picked up the ink with a wet paint brush. Having a heat embossed image, helped to contain the ink and water to specific areas without mixing. I couldn't figure out what sentiment to use, nor where to put the sentiment, so I left it, as is. I did trim in down slightly and matted with a black A2 card panel to frame it. I adhered the panel to a white card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your watercolour creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ October Anything Goes With Dies Challenge

Time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes With Dies.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Crop & Create Delivered March 2021 Virtual Card Class Etched Metal dies that were exclusive (at that time) to the kit. I used the dies with scraps of cardstock, obviously in rainbow color order to create my rainbow. Also part of the dies, were the clouds. I cut three. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches Word Salad stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Ocean Breeze ink. To make the gluing of the rainbow pieces easier, I arranged them on my work surface. Then, I used some Press N Seal to hold the pieces in place. I added glue to the reverse side and glued them in place on the card panel. I was able to slide a couple of clouds behind, before the glue set. I adhered the light blue A2 card panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your die cut creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ October Stencil Challenge

Stencils - I love them. For me, it's an easy way to add color to a card. With the layered stencils, it's so easy to add multiple colors without having to cover areas of the stencil. If you're like me and love stencils, we have a challenge starting today for you at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I used Taylored Expressions' Buds & Blooms Stamp and Stencils combo which I received as part of my Crop & Create Delivered March 2023 kit. I started with some kraft cardstock and I heat embossed the stems with gold embossing powder. I then used the layered stencils with PinkFresh Studio's Coral Reef, Ballet Slipper, Candy Applie and Olive inks, applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Simply Thank You dies. I die cut the words with gold cardstock and the shadow with vellum. I adhered the panel to a white cardbase with double sided tape. I added some gold strips above and below the stencilled panel. I glued the sentiment to the stencilled panel to complete the card.

We'd love to see your stencilled cards in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ October Christmas Challenge

It's getting close - Christmas will soon be here. If you're looking for inspiration, check out our gallery here at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge. It's time for a new challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I used a stencil, well, actually layering stencils. The set I used was Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Ornaments stencils. I masked the stencil, so only one row would be inked to keep the card clean and simple. I added color with distress inks - Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon, Hickory Smoke applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Cool Tag Banner sentiments stamped with PinkFresh Studio's Ocean Breeze ink. I trimmed the A2 card panel slightly and matted with a teal A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your Christmas card creations in our gallery this month. Will you use a stencil or stencils or not? You pick.

Happy Little Stampers ~ October Birthday Challenge

I'm happy to share a card today that I sent to my sister for her birthday. She has received it, so I can now share it and not spoil the surprise.

lt's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge

Here's my card

A little back-story - my sister adopted a cat near the beginning of COVID, Buttercup, more commonly known as Princess Buttercup because she is, well a cat! LOL! I saw this stamp set by CTMH, called Cattitude and thought it would be perfect for my sister. Well, I put the stamp set in a "safe" place and couldn't find it, until this Spring (woohoo). I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a white A2 card panel. There was no way that I was coloring all the cats (not even for my sister) but I thought that I would add color to some random cats. I used Copic markers C2, C3, C5, C7, E33, E47, E50, E71, R29, YG91. For the sentiment, I used Unity Stamps' Say It Big dies, which are word dies and shadow dies. For the word, I used gold shimmer cardstock and for the shadow, I used vellum, so as not to cover too many kitties. For the word wishes, I heat embossed with silver embossing powder on vellum, using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set. I trimmed the vellum down and adhered it to the card. I adhered the panel to a white card base and sent it to my sister.

We'd love to see your birthday card creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ October Watercolour Challenge

Hello friends! It's the start of another month. Can you believe it's already October? It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I was inspired by these cards by Gina K Designs. I didn't totally make a "tropical" card but I think my colors are somewhat tropical-inspired.

I started by scribbling on an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers - May Green, Cobalt Blue, Light Green, Turquoise Green. I spritzed generously with water and allowed the colors to blend. I repeated the process a few times so that the panel was covered with color. I allowed the panel to dry. I then die cut different foliage using Gina K Design's Botanical Duo dies and Foliage Fillers dies. I liked how the colors pop off of black so like Gina K's cards, I used a black A2 card panel for the background. I arranged the foliage on the panel. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Aquamarine ink on some white cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with a My Favorite Things' Stitched Circle STAX die-namics die. I glued all the foliage down and then adhered the sentiment circle. I adhered the black panel to a white card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your watercolour creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies September Challenge

Are you ready for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies? Hope so, because we have a new challenge for September.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Lawn Fawn's Ladybug and Leaf dies. I die cut the leaf using two shades of green and obviously die cut the ladybug with black and red. I did some inlaid placement of the "inner" pieces of both the leaf and ladybug. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Bitty Bugs stamp set, stamped onto a light olive A2 card panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I trimmed the A2 panel slightly and matted with a black A2 card panel which was adhered to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your project using die cuts in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Stencil Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends. We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge for you.

Here's my card

It's a birthday card that I made with Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Candles stencils. I used Post-it Tape to mask off other rows of candles, as I only wanted one row of candles for my card. I used my Wendy Vecchi's Make Art STAYtion to hold my white A2 card panel in place, as well as the stencils. I added color to the candles with distress inks - wilted violet, blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon, peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, mowed lawn, applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the base of the candles, I used a light hand and for the stripes, triangles, polka dots, I used more ink and a heavier hand. Basically, each candle has a tone-on-tone look. For the flames, I used mustard seed distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush. Layering stencils make is so much easier to add specific colors in specific places without additional masking. Genius! For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental with gold embossing powder. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your stencilled creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Christmas Challenge

Christmas in September? Why not? If you're working on Christmas cards so you don't have a crazy scramble in December, we have a challenge for you at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Your Next Stamp's You Lift Me Up die that I received in the Crop & Create Delivered September 2022 event box. I die cut the snow globe  using silver shimmer cardstock. Next, I used a Sizzix circle die to die cut the "background" piece from white cardstock. I used Hero Arts' Winter Silhouettes stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Summer Shower ink to stamp the trees. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp the cute deer silhouette. I found the "background" too white so I lightly added some tumbled glass distress ink with an oval ink blending brush. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I heat embossed with silver embossing powder on a light blue A2 card panel. I glued the background piece in place and covered it with the snow globe die cut. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery. We're anxious to see if you've added a snow globe, or not.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Birthday Challenge

Can you believe that it's already September? Crazy, right? Well, according to my calendar, it's September and that means there is a new challenge starting at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge

Here's my card

I used Gina K Designs' products for my card. I received them as part of the kit for the Crop & Create Delivered - March 23-26, 2023 event. I used Gina K Design's Curved Floral die set, Curved Floral Layering Stencil set, Masks & Fillers Stencil and Sweet Sentiments stamp set. On some white cardstock, I used my Wendy Vechhi's Make Art STAY-tion to hold the stencils in place and added color using Gina K Design's Sweet Mango, Red Hot, Lucky Clover, Soft Stone and Ocean Mist inks, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I used the Masks & Fillers stencil to add the polka dots to the flower petals by overlapping it over the Curved Flower Layering Stencil. I then die cut the image using the matching die. I adhered the die cut to a light blue A2 card panel and also stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. To complete my card, I adhered the card panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your birthday creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Watercolour Challenge

Guess we're moving into Fall as it's now September! Time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge.

Here's my card

I started this card by heat embossing with white embossing powder the floral set using STAMPlorations Blossom Sprays #1 stamp set onto a light blue A2 card panel and a 96 lb bristol A2 card panel. I used my MISTI so the image is stamped in exactly the same place on both pieces of paper. I trimmed 1/2" from both the right and bottom edges of the bristol panel. I then used distress inks - mermaid lagoon, wilted violet, fossilized amber to add some color to the bristol panel. I smooshed the ink onto a plastic place mat and then picked up the ink with a wet brush. I applied the ink horizontally, attempting to add a rectangle of each of the colors over the panel, leaving roughly a 1/2" border. The two panels were adhered together with double-sided tape, making sure that the embossed images were super-imposed. For the sentiment, I stamped it using Avery Elle's Speech Bubbles stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a scrap of medium gray cardstock. I die cut the sentiment out using a Sizzix circle die. I found some shimmery chiffon ribbon to place under the die cut sentiment piece to add another layer to my card. The panel was finally adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my layered card.

We'd love to see your watercolour cards in our gallery and I'm curious to see if your cards will have layers or not!
