Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge May 2021

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge where our challenge is always

I like that you don't have to be a watercolour artist to join in our monthly challenges. Essentially, if you use water, in some way, you can join us. Here's my card

For my card, I started with Your Next Stamp's Celebrating You stamp set. The row of gifts, I stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder on an A2 sized piece of 96 lb bristol. I added color with distress inks (festive berries, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers) with a water brush and some water. I was sure to blend the colours when they overlapped. I also spritzed them with water for a bit of a polka dot effect and picked up any extra water with a paper towel. I used the matching die, Your Next Stamp's Celebrating You die to die cut the row of gifts. I added a bit of salty ocean distress ink to provide a background for the row of gifts. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

We'd love for you to join us and show us your watercolour projects.

Die Cut Divas ~ April Challenge Last Day

It's the last day of our challenge at Die Cut Divas. This month our challenge is

WINDOW or APERTURE CARD

We are sponsored this month by Poppystamps who will be giving our winner a $20 gift certificate.

Here's my card

I started with Poppystamps Holly Frame and Stencil. This was the first time I used a stencil/die combination. I decided to use the stencil and add color on the holly leaves with Lucky Clover distress ink. I then die cut the panel with the matching die. I added red adhesive mini pearls to mimic holly berries. To frame the window, I used the die with gold cardstock. I carefully trimmed away the vines and leaves, leaving just the gold ring. I adhered the die cut to an A2 white card base after die cutting the central circle with a Sizzix circle die. I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card using Catherine Pooler Designs Merry and Bright stamp set with Versamark and heat set the gold embossing powder.

Here's a photo of the card partially opened.

To be honest, I think that this is the first aperture/window card I've made. I think it turned out OK. You have a few hours left to show us your aperture/window card.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #404

I love this time of year - more daylight and pretty, colorful flowers around. What I don't appreciate, is my allergies like to make their annual appearance. So happy to have antihistamines to make things tolerable.

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! Our challenge for the next two weeks is

Here's my card

I'm finding that I'm needing more birthday cards these days. I have to say I prefer that, to needing sympathy cards! For my one layer card, I started with Simon Says STAMP's Artsy Flowers Parts stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink on a white A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. I added color with my Gansi Tambi Watercolor Paints, a brush and some water. I was looking for a "messy" watercolor look, because that's easier than trying to stay in the lines! LOL! For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Big Scripty Greetings.

We'd love to see your creations.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #504

Wow, it's almost the end of April. Where is the time going? It seems to be flying by. It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch for the next two weeks

The optional theme is NATURE

Here's my card

For my card, I started with a panel that I had created some time ago and then changed my mind on a card I was making. I stamped with Paper Smooches Reflections stamp set and Hero Arts inks (Green Hills, Grape Juice) onto some tone on tone plaid patterned paper. I like the effect of stamping onto patterned paper as I believe it adds a bit of interest to the card. I trimmed the panel down and added the purple and green cardstock to match the sketch. To cut the circle (or part of a circle), I used a Sizzix circle die. For the sentiment, I used Ink Blot Shop's Botanical Borders stamp set with Hero Arts Green Hills ink. Everything is adhered to a beige cardstock.

We'd love to see how you are inspired by this challenge's sketch.

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Reminder Challenge #517

There is still some time left in our challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. Our challenge is

I'm a little obsessed with multicolored cloud backgrounds using a stencil. For this card, I started with a white A2 panel. I added "clouds" using Simon Says STAMP's Clouds for Days stencil and distress inks (squeezed lemonade, spun sugar, tumbled glass, shaded lilac) applied with an ink blending tool. I then stamped the cute panda with his/her balloon using Stampin' Up's Party Pandas with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a scrap of white cardstock. I also stamped the sentiment on the balloon using the same stamp set. I fussy cut the panda and the balloon. I also stamped the panda and balloon on my card panel - because there is no way I'd be able to fussy cut the balloon string. I then adhered the panda and balloon. Do you think the panda is floating away?

We'd love for you to join us with your pastel creation.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #196

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. For the next two weeks, our challenge is

Isn't this a great code word? I've been a bit obsessed with multi-color clouds in the sky cards. So, here's another

Seeing these multi-colored clouds just makes me so happy! You'll probably see more like this from me in the future. I started with a white A2 card panel. I used Simon Says STAMP's Clouds for Days stencil and distress inks (spun sugar, wilted violet, salty ocean, cracked pistachio, fossilized amber) applied with an ink blending tool. I added one color at a time and used different parts of the stencil to keep the clouds "different". I then stamped the balloons using STAMPlorations Tweet Love stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers - BG13, R05, V15, Y38. I fussy cut the hearts out. I stamped the same image onto the card panel, for the balloon strings. I adhered the fussy cut hearts in place. For the sentiment, I used a sentiment sticker from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations New Day clear sticker pack. I adhered the card panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your sky-inspired card.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #417

It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is this week's sketch.

Here's my take on the sketch

For my card, I started with Doodlebug Designs Hello Sunshine 6x6 paper pack. Aren't the colors fabulous? I chose the multi-scalloped patterned paper, a scrap of criss-crossed lines patterned paper and some colored cardstock that coordinated. I cut the papers in line with the sketch and adhered them to a white A2 card base. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Happy Happy clear sticker pack. Once I chose the papers, this card came together pretty easily.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #517

Hello Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. The challenge for the next two weeks is

Here's my "pastel" card

Sorry, my card didn't photograph very well and my "pastel" colors were quite light on my card. If you look closely, you can see some hints of pastel colors. It was the look I was trying to achieve. I started with an A2 watercolor paper panel and Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (tea rose, green shadow, lilac, light blue). I scribbled a little with each marker and lightened and move the color with a water brush. I continued adding color until I was pleased with the result. For the sentiment, I die cut several using Simon Says STAMP's Painted Thanks wafer die and stacked them for a bit of dimension. I added a few sequins for a bit of shine and sparkle.

We'd love to see your "pastel"-inspired cards.

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Well, it's the 15th of April and time for us to remind you of our current challenge at STAMPlorations CAS

I didn't use the optional color twist for my card - obviously!

Here's my one layer card. I stamped the floral image using STAMPlorations Blossom Sprays #3 onto a white A2 card using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then masked off a 1.75" x 4.25" area with Post-it tape and added distress inks (mustard seed, festive berries, ripe persimmon) using an ink blending tool. I carefully removed the Post-it tape. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Gratitude Trees.

There are still a couple of weeks left in our current CAS challenge. We'd love for you to join us. If you'd like to check out all of the gorgeous STAMPlorations products, you can do that here. Also, please use my 20% off your purchase code STAMPGIRLSUE

Perfectly CAS ~ April Challenge

WOW! It's already mid-month? Time sure is flying by. It's time for a new challenge at Perfectly CAS. This month, the challenge is

Here's my card

For my card, I actually started with the sentiment which I received in a grab bag of stamps from Unity Stamps. I did a little research and find that it comes from the Own Wings stamp set. I love the essence of the sentiment. It's a good reminder for us to trust and believe in ourselves. I looked around my stamp sets for a tree and a bird. I ended up using The Alley Way Stamps Trees Company stamp set. I stamped the tree with Hero Art's Cup O' Joe ink. For the bird, I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers BG05, W3 and Y17. That's it for my one layer card.

We'd love for you to join us. Please remember that the main characteristic of your card is that less that one-third of your card be covered. In other words, two-thirds of your card should be white space.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #403

It time! There is a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!

I don't know about you but I always need more "Birthday Cards". This is a great way to add to your birthday card stash. Here's my card

I started by embossing some black cardstock with Stampin' Up/Sizzix' Stripes embossing folder. I cut it to 2.5" x 5.5" and adhered it to a white A2 card base. This card reminded me of a school uniform of a white blouse and black pleated skirt. So I wanted to add a colorful "belt" which I created with flowers using Paper Smooches' Flowers 2 dies and scraps of colored cardstock. I adhered the flowers and added a small rhinestone to the center of each flower for a bit of sparkle. For the sentiment, I used Stampin' Up's Made for You stamp set and Stampin' Up's oval punch and scalloped oval punch. I put the pieces of the sentiment element together and adhered it to the embossed black cardstock. Ta da - done!

We'd love to see your birthday cards.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #502

Hello Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. For the next two weeks, our challenge will be

I couldn't figure out how to incorporate more than one fold on my card. So, I just followed the sketch. Here's my card

I started this card with the cool patterned paper. I found some plain teal cardstock that went with the patterned paper. I cut a 2.5" strip and used Simon Says STAMP's Scallop Stitches to add the scalloped border. Also, I found some scraps of patterned paper that I felt had some of the colors of the patterned paper. I used that to die cut the flowers, using My Favorite Things Flower and Leaf Trio Die-namics. On a strip of light pink cardstock, I stamped the sentiment using Your Next Stamps' Cool Tag Banner Sentiments and trimmed it to a fishtail banner. I didn't have any bakers' twine that "worked" with the colors of this card, so I remember my stash of embroidery floss. I found one that "worked" and used it for the criss-cross detail.

We'd love to see what you create.

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. For this challenge, we are sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps. They are offering to a randomly selected winner, a $12 gift code to their store.

We are also teaming up with Double Trouble Challenges. Their challenges are

Our theme for this month is

Here's my card

I started with Bugaboo Digi's Summer Collage digi stamp. I sized it, printed it on white cardstock. The digi stamp is actually 3 squares by 3 squares. I chose three squares where the image stayed pretty much within the square. For me, a fruity beverage with a paper umbrella, flip flops and watermelon are definitely signs of summer. I added color with Copic markers (B12, BG10, BG23, E29, E50, E71, G07, R46, YG91). I adhered the three squares to a 1 7/8" x 5.5" strip of kraft cardstock. I adhered this strip to the left side of an A2 white card base. The sentiment uses Lawn Fawn's Life is Good stamp set and is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our "dreaming of summer" theme.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #195

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. For the next two weeks, our challenge will be

What a great code word for the Spring season - right? Here's my card

I love making clean and simple cards. For this card, I started with Paper Smooches' Dainty Flowers die and some white cardstock. I added color to the "insides" with Copic markers (V04, Y17, Y38, YG63). I felt that I needed a bit of shading to allow the flower outline to show, against the white card panel. Of course, I could have used a colored background panel but really wanted to use the white. So, I used tumbled glass distress ink with an ink blending tool, to create a little "cloud" behind the flower. I then adhered the die cut flower and all the "inside" bits. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages stamped with Hero Arts Field Greens ink. That completes my card for this challenge.

We'd love for you to join us. Don't forget to keep it clean and simple!

Die Cut Divas ~ April Challenge

We have a new monthly challenge at Die Cut Divas where our challenge is

WINDOW OR APERTURE CARD

Also, we have a sponsor this month, PoppyStamps who will be offering our winner a $20 gift certificate to their online store.

Here's my card

So, I took a little bit of creative license for my card. It "sort of" has a window or aperture but my "window" is closed! I used Poppystamps Simple Lantern Oval die to create my card. I die cut with black cardstock and again with white cardstock. On the white cardstock "center" piece, I added color with squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, blueprint sketch and black soot distress ink and ink daubers (for a bit more control of where the color was being put down). I wanted a bit more of an "eerie" feeling to the card, so I "closed" the window with some vellum. I placed the "center" piece behind the vellum for a frosted, "eerie" feel to my card. I used a darker gray card base. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Shine Bright clear stickers.

We'd love to see your window/aperture card.

Welcome to STAMPlorations Things With Wings Hop and Linky Party

Here's my "things with wings" card

I've seen a few cards with multi-color clouds and I just love the look. I started with a white A2 card panel. I used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Clouds - Helen G. Designs stencil and distress inks (squeezed lemonade, spun sugar, tumbled glass, shaded lilac, cracked pistachio) applied with an ink blending tool. I moved the stencil around to get slightly different cloud profiles. I stamped the pterodactyl onto white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers (E40, V06, Y38. I fussy cut it out and adhered it to the panel. I stamped the pun-ny sentiment in the opposite corner to complete the panel. I adhered it to a white side folding A2 card base.

Welcome to our April challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge. Our challenge is

Here's my card

I used the Hero Arts Stained Glass Window Stencil 6x6 and distress inks (squeezed lemonade, lucky clover, mermaid lagoon) to create my one layer card. When I saw this stencil, I knew I wanted to add it to my collection. It reminds me of the beautiful stained glass in churches, that I saw when I travelled to France. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Cool Tag Banner Sentiments and Hero Arts Tide Pool ink.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #415

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is this week's sketch

Here's my card

I went for a musical theme for my card. I stamped the music staff using CASual Fridays Stamps Love Notes stamp set, stamping onto a strip of darker purple cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on light purple using CASual Fridays Stamps Big Treble stamp set. I trimmed the panel down and matted with the same darker purple cardstock. For the eighth note, I inked up some white cardstock with shaded lilac, wilted violet and picked raspberry cardstock. I then die cut the eighth note using CASual Fridays Stamps Heart Note Fri-dies. I felt that the background panel needed a little "something", so I embossed the medium shade of purple with Provocraft Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots embossing folder. I put all the pieces together to create this card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

STAMPlorations ~ Sticker Monday

Hi Crafty Friends! I'm excited to be here with a Sticker Monday post for STAMPlorations. I really enjoy using their Clear Stickers. There are so many to choose from and I find that they are very useful when making a quick card. One little note for you is that they are REALLY sticky. So, one needs to be very careful when adhering because once it's stuck, it's stuck! I've learned that the hard way.

I have three cards to show you that use STAMPlorations Clear Stickers for the sentiments.

Here's the first one

I wanted to make a splattered colorful background. I I started with some watercolor paper and distress inks (fossilized amber, picked raspberry, mowed lawn, salty ocean, wilted violet). I smooshed some ink onto a plastic surface (I use a plastic place mat) and spritzed a bit of water onto the ink and placed the watercolor paper into the puddles of color. I continued until I was happy with the look. Here's a close up.

I cut the panel into an arrow shape and added the sentiment using Happiness Here Clear Stickers. I used a thick black marker to create the outline. Where do you think the path leads to?

Here's my second card

For this card, I finally took my gelli plate out of its packaging. I've had it for years and had never  opened it. I used distress oxides (fossilized amber, mustard seed, spiced marmalade, picked raspberry) and ARTplorations Flair Slimline Stencil. I used CUTplorations Stitched Tags Nesting Dies to create the tag and added the sentiment using Happiness Here clear stickers. To add some interest to the background, I used the same stencil to emboss the background A2 panel. Here's a close up.

I added some patterned paper and a bit of ribbon to complete the card.

And the third and my last card for this month is

On a white A2 card panel, I stamped various stamps using STAMPlorations Coffee Petites stamp set with Versafine Onyx black ink. To add a bit of interest, I created a 1" circle mask using some post it notes and a 1" circle punch. Using the mask, I added polka dots with distress inks (antique linen, frayed burlap, vintage photo). Here's a close up

I adhered the sentiment from Coffee Feel Good clear stickers to some off-white cardstock and adhered it in the center of the card.

Our theme for this month is

Here's my card

For my card, I incorporated Double Trouble's Thing 3's "Cloud or Word Bubble sentiment challenge" to my "Dreaming of Summer" card.  I started with Bugaboo Digi's Poppi Penguin - water toy digi stamp. I sized it, printed it on cardstock and added color with Copic markers (B00, BG23, BG49, C02, C05, R22, Y17). I fussy cut the image and adhered it to a A2 white card base. I stamped the sentiment using Lawn Fawn's Chit Chat stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge ~ April

It's a new month and time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers where our challenge this month is

Here's my card

I had Avery Elle's Merry Flowers stamp set out after making this card and thought I'd make a slightly different card. I used the stamp set with Versamark ink on vellum with white embossing powder. I added color by coloring on the reverse side with Sharpie markers. I seem to struggle a bit with adhering the vellum to card panels. I used two strips of silver cardstock to help with that. To continue with the silver theme, I heat embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes stamp set with silver embossing powder.

We'd love to see your Christmas creations this month.
