April? Really? It's already April? Yikes, the months sure are flying by. It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I was inspired by Gina K of Gina K Designs

I scribbled on an A2 140 lb Strathmore watercolour panel with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers - Light Blue, May Green Cornflower Blue, Cobalt Blue, Light Green. I spritzed the panel with water to get the colours to blend and "move". I repeated the process a couple of times, letting the inks dry between attempts, until I was happy with the result. I let the panel dry. I then die cut using the inked panel with a Gina K Design's Botanical Duo die. I adhered the die cut to a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of black cardstock. I like how the die cut pops against the black background. I added a thin white mat and then adhered everything to a dark gray A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I heat embossed with silver embossing powder the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Bouquet of Thanks stamp set. To complete the card, I adhered the gray panel to a white A2 card base.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Scrapflower Estudio's Reading Nordic Gnome's digital stamp. Sorry, I can't link to the digital stamp as Scrapflower Estudio is currently taking a break. I sized the digital stamp and printed it on white cardstock with my inkjet printer. I added color with Copic markers - B93, BV13, C5, E02, E50, E59, R59, Y28, Y38, YG67. I cut the panel to 2 3/4" x 4" with a Waffle Flower's Additional A2 Layers die and matted with black cardstock, which I cut with a Waffle Flower's A2 Layers die. I found some cardstock and a patterned paper that worked with the colored image. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set, stamped on white cardstock. I die cut the sentiment using a My Favorite Things' Skinny Strips die-namics. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #600

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch for the next fortnight

Optional theme: Bunny, ducky &/or lamb

Here's my card

I chose to add a couple of lambs, along with a pun-ny sentiment. I kind of rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the left and flipped. For my card, I used Gerda Steiner Designs' How Are You stamp set for the lambs and the sentiment. I stamped the lambs on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers - C2, C3, C5. I fussy-cut the two lambs. For the background of the panel, I used Lawn Fawn's Grassy Stencil inked with twisted citron and mowed lawn distress inks, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I moved the stencil and re-inked several times. I trimmed the grass panel to 2 3/4" x 4 3/4". I adhered all the pieces in place on a light blue card base to complete the card.

I love when dogwood trees are in bloom. It's a sure sign of Spring. For my card, I used STAMPlorations Framed Dogwood stampset. I stamped it on a white A2 card panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - C2, G94, RV23, RV29. I added a sentiment using STAMPlorations' Hello Coffee stamp set. I trimmed the white panel slightly and matted with black cardstock. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Stretch ... Whew! That was a lovely break. We're back at Addicted to Stamps and More! Our next challenge is

Here's my Christmas card for this challenge

For my card, I used Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Ornaments stencils (there are 3 layers in this set) with a white A2 card panel. I inked up the first layer with wilted violet and peacock feathers distress ink applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the second layer (the ornament tops), I used hickory smoke distress ink, also applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the final layer, I used Scrapbook.com's Pops of Color - Glitter Snowflake. I used a palette knife to spead the Pops of Color around and quickly washed the stencil to remove any excess product. I put the panel aside to dry. Here's a close-up.

For the sentiment, I used Hero Arts' Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut set and silver embossing powder, applied to a scrap of purple cardstock, with I cut into a sentiment strip. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #517

Monday, Monday - do you remember the Mamas and Papas song? Seeing that it's Monday, that means that it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch

Here's my card

For this card, I started with Pink & Main's Special Gift background stamp. I inked it up with Versafine Onyx Black ink and stamped on some white cardstock. I added color by ink blending distress inks (picked raspberry, mustard seed, spiced marmalade, mowed lawn, blueprint sketch, wilted violet) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I trimmed the panel to 2" x 5 1/4". For the sentiment, I stamped on a scrap of white cardstock with Simon Says STAMP's It's Your Birthday stamp set. I trimmed the white cardstock to 2 3/8" x 1 3/8" and I matted with light teal. I found some multi-colored patterned papers that I cut into fish-tail banners. I adhered all the pieces to a dark teal A2 card panel which was then glued to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

Here's my card

I decided to use Simon Says STAMP's Mother Earth stamp set for my card. I had purchased it some time ago and had never used it ... until now. I love how the card turned out. I stamped the main image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with lots of Copic markers - B00, B02, B24, B93, BG13, C3, G82, R32, V15, V17, Y06, Y15, Y17, Y38, YG03, YG06, YG63, YR16. I trimmed the image to 2 3/4" x 2 3/4". I die cut the frame using Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese, Again die set and black cardstock. I glued the focal image behind the black frame with double sided tape. I added a few copper rhinestones to the bottom left of the frame. For the sentiment, I stamped it with black ink on a light gray A2 card base. Sorry, I can't remember which stamp set I used - oops! I adhered the frame and focal image on the card base to complete my card.

This month

For my card, I used one image from Scrapflower Estudio's Reading Nordic Gnome Digital Stamp. I sized it and printed it on white cardstock with my inkjet printer. I added color with Copic markers - B95, BG13, C2, C5, C7, E02, E33, E50, E59, E71, R59, Y38, YG63. I die cut the image using a My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX die-namic. I looked for a muted, tone-on-tone patterned paper for the background. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages which I stamped on a scrap of white cardstock and then die cut using a My Favorite Things Skinny Strips die-namic.

Here's my card

For my card, I used a variety of PinkFresh Studio's products. I started by die cutting the gazebo using PinkFresh Studio's gazebo die from an A2 panel of white cardstock. I used the leftover outer part of the A2 panel as a mask and added tumbled glass distress ink applied with an oval ink blending brush to the center area of a white A2 cardbase. I cut a section of PinkFresh Studio's Painted Peony washi tape and applied it to some white cardstock. I then die cut it with PinkFresh Studio's Painted Peony coordinating die. I used 5 of the die cuts on my card which I adhered to the gazebo die cut. Then I glued the gazebo to the cardbase, in line with the area that was ink blended blue to give the illusion that you could see blue sky through the gazebo. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set and gold embossing powder which was heat set, to complete my card.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch ~ Challenge #515

Happy Monday Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 

Here's my card

For my card, I started with the sentiment element. I stamped the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Big Scripty Greetings stamp set on some white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then die cut the sentiment using a Sizzix circle die. To help to make the sentiment pop, I matted with a bright blue scalloped circle, die cut using a Spellbinders Scalloped circle die. I chose some patterned papers to use on my card - the red/pink chevron paper and the multi-colored stars from the same 6x6 paper pack. I cut both patterned papers to align with the sketch. For the flowers, I used Poppy Stamps Potpourri Flower set and scraps of red, yellow and pink cardstock. They were colors I pulled from the patterned papers. I also used Poppy Stamps Leafy Sprig die to die cut the leafy branches from dark green cardstock. I placed the leafy branches and flowers, similar to those on the sketch and adhered them in place. I glued all the elements to a A2 panel of medium shade of gray cardstock which was then adhered to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape to complete the card.

Happy Little Stampers ~ March 2023 Stencil Challenge

We're back after our little break. It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.

I just love working with layered stencils. Some super creative people have done all the hard work and all I need to do is align the stencils and add ink. I love using my Wendy Vecchi's Make Art STAY-tion. I have both sizes but tend to reach for the mini version when working on A2 card panels. The non-porous surface makes clean up easy and the large magnets hold everything in place. For this card, I used Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Leaves and Flowers stencil and I added color using distress inks - twisted citron, mowed lawn, wilted violet, wild honey, applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I heat embossed with white embossing powder the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set on a scrap of purple cardstock. I die cut the sentiment using a My Favorite Things' Skinny Strips Die-namics die. I trimmed the panel slightly and matted with the same purple cardstock as the sentiment was embossed on. I adhered the completed panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Here's my card

I went with a non-traditional color scheme for my Christmas card. For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel and Hero Arts' Forest Scene stencil. I added color with distress inks -  chipped sapphire, faded jeans, applied with oval ink blending brushes with the stencil in place. I removed the stencil and added color to the white areas with distress inks - cracked pistachio and peacock feathers, again applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I used a scrap of the same color cardstock as I started with and heat embossed the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages with silver embossing powder. I trimmed the scrap of cardstock into a thin sentiment strip.

Here's my birthday card

For my card, I used Paper Smooches' Birthday Buddies stamp set. I stamped this cute bird with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - B00, B02, BG13, BV13, E41, R32, Y17, YG06 and fussy cut the image. I then added some glossy accents to the bird's eyes for some shine and dimension and put it aside to dry. For the background, I placed My Favorite Things' Oval Extraordinaire stencil over a white A2 card panel. I then used Simon Says STAMP's Clouds For Days stencil with distress inks - tumbled glass, blueprint sketch added with oval ink blending brushes. I then stamped the sentiment, from the same Paper Smooches' stamp set. I trimmed the white panel slightly and matted with royal blue. I glued the bird in the center of the clouds with a glue pen. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.
