Growing in Unity ~ Day 5

I'm grateful to Unity Stamps Co. for giving me this opportunity to showcase some of my cards. It's my last day as a Growing In Unity gal. I'd love it if you could leave me a comment, be sure to add your name if you're posting anonymously. I'll randomly select two people from those who leave a comment on one of my GIU posts this week to win a $20 store credit to Unity Stamps.

Here's my 5th day card

When I saw this Unity set, I knew that I had to have it. It's Unity's Lovebirds & Oddballs stamp set. I stamped the image and sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a white A2 card base. I added color with Ohuhu markers B289, G289, G345, R193, V284, Y397 and Copic markers E50, R17, YR16. To add a bit of a background, I was inspired by this card by Angie Blom from the Unity Stamp website.

I used a cloud stencil and distress inks - wilted violet, twisted citron, salty ocean, mustard seed, saltwater taffy applied with oval ink blending brushes. To complete my card I adhered this A2 panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

If you're leaving a comment here on my blog, to be eligible for the random drawing for a $20 store credit to Unity, be sure to include your first and last name.

Growing In Unity ~ Day 4

I'm grateful to Unity Stamps Co. for giving me this opportunity to showcase some of my cards. I'd love it if you could leave me a comment, be sure to add your name if you're posting anonymously. I'll randomly select two people from those who leave a comment on one of my GIU posts this week to win a $20 store credit to Unity Stamps.

Here's my card for Day 4

The image I used for this card uses Unity's Kit of the Month from November 2014 called What Lies Within Us. I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and also the sentiment which comes from Unity's Blossoming Thoughts & Wishes which was Unity's Sentiment Kit from March 2015. I added color with Ohuhu markers G345, V284, V651. To frame the image, I used a purple A2 panel and die cut an oval from the center. I glued the frame to the centered image. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Growing in Unity ~ Day 3

I'm grateful to Unity Stamps Co. for giving me this opportunity to showcase some of my cards. I'd love it if you could leave me a comment, be sure to add your name if you're posting anonymously. I'll randomly select two people from those who leave a comment on one of my GIU posts this week to win a $20 store credit to Unity Stamps.

Here's my card for today

For this card, I used Unity Stamps' Kit of the Month for November 2014, called What Lies Within Us. I stamped this image with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a panel of 100 lb bristol. Once the ink was dried, I added color with distress inks - salvaged patina, kitsch flamingo, salty ocean with a water brush. I added small splotches of each color and let the colors blend behind the stamped image. I cut the panel down to 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" and added a thin light pink mat. I adhered the matted image to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape to complete the card. I couldn't figure out where to put a sentiment nor what sentiment to choose, so I left this card without a sentiment.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #520

Next challenge up at Addicted to Stamps and More! is

Here's my card

I saw the Concord & 9th's Fish Friends set and just knew I needed to have it. Of course, I have no idea how I will use them for cards that I will use. The fish are so super cute. I used the C9 Fish Friends stencil with distress inks - picked raspberry, fossilized amber, and Gina K Design's Soft Stone ink applied with oval ink blending brushes and die cut the fish. For the seaweed, I die cut it using colored cardstock and added a bit of shading with evergreen bough and peeled paint distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes. I arranged the seaweed and fish on a light teal A2 card panel and glued them in place. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Best Fishes stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your cards with stencilling &/or die cuts in our gallery.

Growing in Unity ~ Day 2

I'm grateful to Unity Stamps Co. for giving me this opportunity to showcase some of my cards. I'd love it if you could leave me a comment, be sure to add your name if you're posting anonymously. I'll randomly select two people from those who leave a comment on one of my GIU posts this week to win a $20 store credit to Unity Stamps.

Here's my card for Day 2

For this card, I stamped the cute little robot, using Unity's Heart Mode: Activated stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers BG038, BG042, G289, R192. I trimmed the white cardstock to 3" x 4 1/2" and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set to the top. I embossed some light pink cardstock with Sizzix's 3-D Texture Fades embossing folder - Foundry Large. I found some tone-on-tone cardstock for the background and cut it to A2 size. I glued both the pink embossed and inked panels in place. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #698

Looking for some inspiration for your card making? We have a new sketch challenge starting at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's our sketch.

Here's my card. I turned the slimline sketch to an A2 sketch.

I started the card with the cute unicorn using Taylored Expressions Be U-nicorn stamp set. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers B191, BG038, G284, R295, R584, V189, V284, Y397, Y494, YR792. I created the rainbow using Scrapbook.com's Nested A2 arches. I used the successive sized arches and rainbow colored cardstock. I first ink blended some clouds on a light blue A2 card panel using My Favorite Things' Mini Cloud Edges and tumbled glass distress ink. I glued the rainbow pieces in place and glued the unicorn. For the sentiment, I used the same stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Sapphire ink. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered a royal blue A2 card panel for a mat. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card panel with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch by adding your card to our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #687

Happy Monday! There's a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

I started with the two small square panels. I used Hero Arts Birthday Confetti stencil which I received as part of Scrapbook and Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered's September 2022 event kit. I added color with blueprint sketch, peacock feathers, mowed lawn distress inks applied with an oval ink blending brush. I cut two 2 1/4" squares and matted with dark gray. To incorporate the chevron pattern, I embossed with a Darice Chevron embossing folder and made a 4 3/4" x 3". I added three balloons die cut using Paper Smooches' Balloons dies. I added the balloon string with a thin black marker. For the sentiment, I chose a thank you sentiment using Your Next Stamps' Cooltag Banner Sentiments. I stamped it on a scrap of teal cardstock and cut it to a double fish-tail banner. Now, when I look at the card, perhaps, it would have been better as a birthday card. Oh well ... LOL! I glued all the pieces on a light blue A2 card panel. As a last step, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your take on our sketch in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #697

We have a new sketch challenge for you at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's the sketch.

I adapted the sketch a bit - mostly moving the placement of the sentiment. Here's my card.

I started this card with the pink/red patterned paper. I cut four 4 1/2" x 1/2" strips and glued them to a 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of light pink cardstock. I die cut a small semi-circle using a Sizzix circle die on the lower right edge. I used dimensionals to adhere it to a light pink A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the sentiment using Concord & 9th's Gentle Spring stamp set which I received as part of Scrapbook and Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered Spring 2026 event on medium pink cardstock with gold embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment using a My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX die. I glued it in place on the A2 card panel. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.
