Die Cut Divas ~ Last Day of 2023 ~ December Challenge with Altenew

We've made it. It's the end of 2023 and as I reflect back, it was a good year for me. I had lots of crafting time and a couple of great travels. It's the last day of our December challenge at Die Cut Divas. Our challenge is

FLOWERS

Our sponsor this month is Altenew. They are generously providing our winner with a $50 gift certificate to their online store.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Altenew's Charming Doodles stamp set. It's a layered stamp set so you stamp the outlines (black lines) and stamp the solid colors as well. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink for the outlines and Hero Arts Passion Flower, Butter Bar, Pale Tomato, Moss, and Green Hills inks. With the coordinating Charming Dooles die set, the elements are all die cut out. I arranged the items on a white A2 card panel and glued them in place, popping up the red flower for a bit of dimension. For the sentiment, I used Altenew's Adore You stamp set and gold embossing powder (which doesn't photograph well). I trimmed the white panel down slightly and matted with black. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

Hoping you have some time to craft today. We'd love to see your "FLOWERS" creations in our gallery.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #557

Merry Christmas Crafty Friends! In case you're needing a bit of a crafty break this holiday season, we have a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I started by stamping the wreath using Polkadoodles' Glad Tidings Wreath on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - R35, R37, RV23, YG03, YG63.  I fussy cut the image. I found some tone-on-tone green patterned paper and used a Simon Says STAMP's Stitched Slopes and Hills die to die cut the wavy edge. I adhered the green patterned paper to a light gray A2 card panel. I made a thread nest using silver thread and adhered the wreath over top on edge of the thread nest to secure the thread nest in place. To complete my card, I adhered the light gray panel to a white A2 card panel.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch. Please add your creations in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #555

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with the large floral die cut. I used a Fun Stampers Journey's Spring Blooms die and a floral patterned paper from My Mind's Eye's 6x6 Designer Paper Pad - Tangerine. I chose three other papers from the same pad for the other elements of the card. When one uses a paper pad, one can be sure that the colors all coordinate. That's why I have a huge collection of paper pads (or that's what I tell myself - LOL!). The sentiment uses Papertrey Ink's Keep It Simple: Thank You stamp set with Concord & 9th's Buttercup ink on a scrap of natural cardstock. I trimmed it and cut it into a double fishtail banner. I adhered all the pieces and then the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your interpretation of our sketch in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ December Wreath Using Altenew Products

Have you checked out our December challenge at Die Cut Divas? Our challenge this month is

FLOWERS

Our sponsor this month is Altenew. They are generously providing our winner with a $50 gift certificate to their online store.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Altenew's Sophisticated Wreath stamp set and dies. I started with a white A2 panel and lightly traced a circle (using a circle die) with a pencil. I then stamped the sprig from the stamp set with Concord & 9th's Evergreen ink repeatedly along the pencil mark to create the greenery of the wreath. I stamped various flowers from the stamp set using Gina K Designs' Bubblegum Pink, Turquoise Sea and Wild Lilac inks and stamped the stems of the purple flower with Hero Art's Moss ink. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the flowers. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set and die cut the sentiment using a My Favorite Things Skinny Strips die. I glued the sentiment strip in place and then glued the flowers, placed around the wreath. To complete my card, I adhered the A2 panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your "flower" creations in our gallery. Please remember to use a die cut or several die cuts!

Happy Little Stampers ~ December Anything Goes With Dies Challenge

It's the last month of 2023. How are your Christmas preparations coming along? Hoping you might have some time to craft with us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies Challenge.

Here's my card

When I saw stitching on cards, I thought that's not me. However, I keep seeing it and then thought, well, maybe I should try. It's kind of addicting. I started with Spellbinders' Stitched Poinsettia & Holly die set. I die cut the poinsettia petals from two shades of red and two leaves from two shades of green. I used DMC Diamant Grande thread I purchased from Michaels. Of course, the needle that fit through the holes would only take one strand of the six strands of the thread. So, yes, I untwirled the thread to separate the strands. I used a bit of double-sided tape on the reverse side to hold the end of the strand and another piece to hold the other end of the strand in place. I stacked the two sets of red pedals to create my flower and placed the two leaves. I glued these pieces in place on a medium gray A2 card panel. I die cut the center of the flower using the same die set from a scrap of gold cardstock and glued it in place. I heat embossed the sentiment using Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes stamp set and gold embossing powder. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your die cut creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ December Stencil Challenge

Hope you're ready for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.

Here's my card. It would be perfect for a little boy who likes trucks and excavators or maybe a big boy who works in construction.

For my card, I used Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Construction Trucks stencils and distress inks (mustard seed, black soot, brushed corduroy) applied with oval ink blending brushes on white cardstock. I trimmed the white cardstock to 4 1/4" x 3" and matted with black cardstock leaving a thin border on the top and bottom. I stamped the sentiment using Papertrey Ink's Keep It Simple: Birthday stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink on a yellow A2 card panel. I adhered the matted construction vehicles to the yellow panel using double sided tape and then the yellow panel to a white A2 card base also using double sided tape to complete my card.

We'd love to see your stencilled cards in our gallery this month.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #458

Hi Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! For the next fortnight, the challenge will be

Here's my card

I love punny sentiments. For my card, I used Stampin' Up's Hippo Happiness stamp set. It's a layering stamp set and I used PinkFresh Studio's Ballet Slipper and Sparkling Rose inks for the cute hippo. The facial features were added with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I fussy cut the little hippo out. For the background, I used Pink & Main's Mask it Circle stencil/mask and added color using distress inks - mowed lawn, tumbled glass applied with oval ink blending brushes. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set below the focal image. I glued the hippo in place and then adhered the white A2 card panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your birthday creations in our gallery this fortnight.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #636

It's Tuesday morning which must mean that it's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's the sketch which we hope will inspire you.

Optional Theme: Bundle Up
Here's my card

What do you think? Does this image feel like "bundle up"? I mean she is wearing a parka, mitts and boots. Well, this was my attempt at "bundle up". This image uses Your Next Stamp's Hot Cocoa Phoebe which I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used Copic markers to add color - BG13, BG15, C5, C7, E25, E33, E50, RV14, RV23, V06, V15. I cut the panel to 3 3/4" x 3". I also stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in the hearts with Copic RV14. I trimmed the sentiment panel to 2 1/2" x 3/4". I found some wintery patterned paper that coordinated with the colored in image. I cut the pieces to reflect the sketch. I used some silver twine for the bow and the horizontal piece. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch this fortnight.

Happy Little Stampers ~ December Christmas Challenge

Yeah - we've made it to December. Christmas is now just around the corner. Hoping you can find some time in your craft space to do some papercrafting. We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge.

Here's my card including a festive animal

For my card, I used Your Next Stamp's Believe in the Magic stamp set. I stamped the reindeer with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with Copic markers - C5, E25, E33, E50, R29, RV02. I added a bit of sparkle with a gold glitter gel pen on the bells around the reindeer's neck. For the nose, I added a red pompom for fun. Now, clearly, I can not mail this card in a standard envelope.

Here's a close up.

I trimmed the white cardstock to 2 3/4" x 4" and added a thin black mat behind it. On a white top fold A2 card base, I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set with gold embossing powder. To complete the card, I adhered the matted reindeer panel with double-sided adhesive.

We'd love to see your Christmas card in our gallery. Will you add a festive animal or not?

Happy Little Stampers ~ December Birthday Challenge

Are you like me? I'm always looking for birthday cards. If you are, we'd love for you to join our challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Woodware's Three Little Birds stamp. I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a 96 lb bristol panel as I was planning on doing some watercoloring. I smooshed distress ink on a plastic place mat and picked up the ink with a wet paint brush and applied it to the bristol panel. I used tumbled glass, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon, salty ocean, blueprint sketch, faded jeans, mowed lawn, mustard seed, fossilized amber and seedless preserves distress inks. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches' Birthday Buddies stamp set. I adhered the bristol panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided adhesive to complete my card.

We'd love to see your birthday creations in our gallery this month.
