Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #700

There's a new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. We're continuing our Christmas in July theme. Here's our sketch.

Here's my card

I started my card with the cute snowman using Paper Smooches' Swanky Snowdudes stamp set. I stamped the snowman using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Ohuhu markers BG038, BG042, G191, RV210, Y494 and Copic marker B00 and YR16. I die cut the snowman using a Sizzix circle die. To help accentuate the snowman, I added a thin mat using a My Favorite Things' Stitched Circle STAX die. I gathered some Christmas patterned papers in some non-traditional colors and cut wedges. I glued the wedges of patterned papers in place and cut a strip of glitter paper for the base. I glued the focal image in place. I die cut a snowflake using Frantic Stampers' Snowflake Border using shimmer paper. The sentiment uses Your Next Stamp's Cooltag Banner Sentiments stamp set. I glued the snowflake and sentiment strip in place. To finish off my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's our sketch.

Here's my card

I rotated the sketch. I used these cute birds using Hero Arts' Be You stamp set. I stamped four birds using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Ohuhu markers B290, B883, G482, G483, R295, R586, V567, Y397, YR792. I die cut them using Scrapbook.com's Nested Stitched Scalloped Frames. I die cut the frames using the same die set. I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and created a sentiment banner. I adhered the framed birds and sentiment on a middle gray A2 card panel. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #319

Our clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards is a color challenge. Here are the colors

When I saw these colors, I thought about flowers. Here's my card.

For my card, I chose STAMPlorations' Flowers 1 stencil with picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard seed and kitsch flamingo distress inks applied with an oval ink blending brush. To keep my card clean and simple, I used post-it tape to limit my stencilling to a 1 1/2" x 4" area on a white A2 panel. I used some scraps of paper to help separate the colors as I was stencilling. I added a simple sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set. To finish the card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #312

Super fun clean and simple challenge starting at Addicted to CAS. Here's our new code word.

What a clever code word. I had different ideas floating (get it, floating?) in my head. I settled on this one. Here's my card.

I made this card using Your Next Stamp's You Lift Me Up stamp set and coordinating die. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and added color with Ohuhu markers BG038, R192, RV390, WG170, Y295, Y583 and Copic marker B00. I die cut with the coordinating dies and used silver cardstock for the globe structure. I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set using silver embossing powder onto a white A2 card base. I glued the globe structure and image in place to finish my card.

Die Cut Divas ~ Christmas in July with Waffle Flower

One way to combat the heat of summer is to think cool, or maybe cold or maybe Christmas (at least for those up north in the Northern Hemisphere. Our challenge for July at Die Cut Divas is

Here's my card

For this card, I used a retired Waffle Flower stamp set called Fa-La-La. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Ohuhu markers BG038, BG042, E280, G191, G284, R192, WG150 and Copic markers C2, E40, N2, R29. I then fussy cut the image. I felt that I need a bit of a background so I die cut a large oval with an oval die and added clouds with a cloud stencil and tumbled glass distress ink applied with an oval ink blending brush. I also heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set with gold embossing powder. I glued the oval and the singing sheep in place on a light blue A2 card panel. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Here's my card

On a 100 lb bristol panel, I added some color using distress inks - salty ocean, kitsch flamingo and cracked pistachio. With a wet brush, I added splotches of color. I die cut the panel with a My Favorite Things' In and Out Stitched Rectangle STAX die. I stamped the floral image using Penny Black's Floral Fusion stamp set. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape to complete my card.

There's a new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. It's Christmas in July. We'd love for you to use our sketch as inspiration and create a Christmas card. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

I obviously rotated the sketch. I started with Gerda Steiner Design's Furry & Bright stamp set. I stamped this adorable kitty with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers B289, BG038, BG042, E280, G477, G483, R192, R586, WG150, Y397. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. I found the perfect Christmas light patterned paper for the corners. To finish my card, I adhered the A2 panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Here's my card

I made a mini slimline card, measuring 3 1/2" x 6". I stamped the critters using Pawsome Stamps' Picture Pals and Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with Ohuhu markers BG038, BG042, E644, R192, WG150, Y397, Y495, Y585. I die cut the critters and the frames using Scrapbook.com's Nested Stitched Scalloped Frames. I glued the frames and critters in place on some tone-on-tone brown patterned paper. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages stamp set on a scrap of brown cardstock. I cut it to be a sentiment strip. I glued it in place. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white mini slimline cardbase with double-sided tape.

Time for a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. Our challenge is to Follow the Lead of Marlies.

Here is Marlies' card for inspiration.

Here's my card

I rotated the card 90 degrees. I started by die cutting the cute sheep using Concord & 9th's Happy Herd dies. I glued the pieces together to make four sheep. I ink blended the grass on the bottom of a light blue A2 panel with Lawn Fawn's Grassy Stencil and mowed lawn distress ink applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the sentiment, I chose, like Marlies, a pun-ny sentiment. I stamped it using Clearly Besotted's Feeling Sheepish with Versafine Onyx Black ink and PinkFresh Studio's Mermaid Cove ink. I glued the sheep in place. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Happy Birthday 13th STAMPlorations!

 We're having a celebration over at STAMPlorations. Our beloved leader, Shery has created some new products that make card making simple and easy. We are showcasing some of the recent release products. I showed four cards yesterday here and I have three more cards today.

Here's the first card

When I saw this STAMPlorations' new Comic Pop Pocket Backdrops paper which measures 3 3/4" x 5 3/4", I was reminded of the old Batman show from the 60s. I stamped the lightning bolt (twice) and the starburst using STAMPlorations' Super Hero stamp set on white cardstock and the words on some scraps of cardstock. I fussy cut them out and glued them onto the patterned paper. As the patterned paper is a bit narrower than A2, I adhered it to a dark blue A2 card panel with two vertical borders. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Here is card two

STAMPlorations released some new stencils. For this card, I used STAMPlorations' new Abstract Notes stencil with picked raspberry, mustard seed and salty ocean distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes. By choosing these three colors, when overlapped they create green, purple and orange colors. I felt that the background being so colorful, that a simple black and white element from STAMPlorations' new Big Birthday Cakes - Colorables was selected. I used a clear sticker from STAMPlorations' Happy Happy clear sticker pack. I adhered the sticker in the bottom right corner and glued the cake in place, a bit askew for a bit of whimsy. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Last, but not least, here is card three

For this card, I chose a pretty element using STAMPlorations' new Flowers + Coffee Focal Fronts and the sentiment from STAMPlorations' new Floral Magic Clear Stickers. I created a background using STAMPlorations' Dots All Over stencil and milled lavender, saltwater taffy, old paper distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes on a white A2 card panel. I adhered the sticker to the bottom of the panel and glued the pretty cup with florals in place. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Here is my first card

For this card, I used a sheet of STAMPlorations' new All Things Coffee Ephemera Cut-Outs. I chose 2 images and fussy cut them. Also, I chose a sentiment from STAMPlorations' new All Things Coffee Clear Stickers. To create a background for the coffee-inspired items, I used STAMPlorations' Dots 'n Beans stencil on a white A2 card base with Gathered Twigs distress ink applied with an oval ink blending brush. I adhered the clear sticker to a scrap of kraft cardstock to help me it stand out. I moved the sentiment and two elements around until I found a placement I liked and I glued them down to complete my card.

Here's my second card

For this card, I started with a sheet of STAMPlorations' new Nostalgia #1 Ephemera Cut-Outs. When I saw the sewing machine, it reminded me of my mom. She sewed "piecework" while we were growing up and later she did alterations. I cut the sewing machine out. For the background, I used STAMPlorations' Wonky Stitched Grid Texture Cover Plate with a green panel. I ink blended some Fossilized Amber distress ink with an oval ink blending brush to give it a worn look. I also matted with a mustard colored A2 piece of cardstock. To prevent the sewing machine from getting lost on the background, I cut a circle from kraft cardstock. I glued the pieces together. For the sentiment, I used one of the stickers from STAMPlorations' new Nostalgic #1 Clear Stickers pack. I adhered the sticker to a scrap of the mustard cardstock, trimmed it and glued it in place to complete my second card.

Here's my third card

For this card, I selected the floral coffee cup element from STAMPlorations' new Flowers + Coffee Focal Fronts pack. This pre-cut and colored image is perfect if you're in a hurry to make a card. I chose a sentiment from STAMPlorations' new All Things Coffee - Clear Stickers pack. For the background, I cut one sheet from STAMPlorations' Botanical Beats Collage Paper pack down to A2 size. I adhered the clear sticker to the background and glued the coffee cup focal front in place. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base. So simple to do and it looks great!

Here's my fourth card and my last card today

For this card, I chose an element from STAMPlorations' new Floral Parade Ephemera Cut-Outs and fussy cut it. The paper is not too thick and there is a nice thick white border which makes the fussy cutting very easy to do. I chose a sentment clear sticker from STAMPlorations new Floral Magic - Clear Stickers pack. For the background, I used STAMPlorations' Dragonfly Waltz stencil with milled lavender, antique linen and old paper distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes. I stuck the sentiment sticker in place and glued the floral element in place. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.
