Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

We're back from our little vacation. For me, it wasn't a vacation from crafting but rather a vacation from blogging! I need to play with paper, scissors, ink and glue. It's what makes me happy!

OK, enough about me. We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, obviously, I didn't incorporate the optional theme of wings. What I did was start with an A2 panel of 96 lb Strathmore watercolour paper. For the colours, I used a Spectrum Noir Tri-colour Aqua marker - Warm Fiery which is composed of Gold, Crimson and Sunset colours. I scribbled each of the colours on a non-permeable surface - I use a plastic place mat and spritzed them with some water. I picked up each color with a piece of plastic packaging and applied it to the watercolour panel. I kept adding colour until I was happy with the result. I let the panel dry. Once dry, I stamped the focal image using STAMPlorations Blossom Sprays #3 with my MISTI. I needed to stamp this image a couple of times to get good coverage. For the sentiment, I used Hero Arts Layered Topiary stamp set. I trimmed the panel slightly and double matted with black and coral cardstock. I then adhered the panel to a white A2 cardbase to complete my card.

We'd love to see your watercolour projects in our gallery this month.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #596

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Our sketch, which we hope will inspire you for the next fortnight is

Optional Theme: Sweets

Here's my card (I rotated the sketch 90 degrees) and didn't incorporate the optional theme.

I started by embossing light blue cardstock with Spellbinders' Scattered Fall Embossing Folder of the Month. I added some color to the raised areas with distress inks - ripe persimmon and bundled sage, applied with a mini ink blending brush. I used a Sizzix circle die to create the embossed circle element. I found some dark green cardstock which I made into a fish-tail banner. The sentiment is stamped using Paper Smooches' Many Thanks stamp set and is stamped with Hero Arts Pale Tomato ink onto a rectangle of white cardstock. I die cut the heart, from a scrap of red cardstock using a Lawn Fawn's Heart die set die. I adhered all the elements onto a white A2 cardbase to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Die Cut Divas ~ Golden Christmas

It's the last day of our February Challenge at Die Cut Divas, which is sponsored by the fabulous company, Hero Arts. Hero Arts will kindly be giving our winner a $50 gift card. How generous! Thank you Hero Arts.

Our challenge this month is

GOLD

Here's my "golden" Christmas card

For my card, I heat embossed with gold on green cardstock using Hero Arts Nutcracker Bold Prints. Isn't that background stamp great? Reminds me of going to watch the National Ballet of Canada perform The Nutcracker every Christmas. Great memories! I trimmed the green A2 panel with a die from Waffle Flower's Additional A2 Layers die set and matted with  gold cardstock, which was die cut using Waffle Flower's A2 Layers die set. For the sentiment, I die cut using Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Cut and gold cardstock. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my golden card!

We'd love to see your "gold" card - will you use gold sequins, or gold embossing powder, or a gold pen or gold cardstock or ??? Please add your card to our gallery today as it's the last day of this challenge.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #513

Happy Family Day (in parts of Canada) and Happy Presidents' Day (for my friends in the US). Hope you had a great day! It's Monday and time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Here's my take on this sketch

For my card, I used patterned papers from Stampin' Up's Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper stack. I cut the banner patterned paper to A2 size and the cupcake/ice cream cone paper to 2" x 2 3/8" and matted it with a teal cardstock. For the sentiment, I stamped it using Paper Smooches' Salutation stamp set on the same color cardstock as the mat and adhered it to the bottom, right corner. A real simple, easy card for my blog, today.

We'd love to see your interpretations of our sketch in our gallery.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #594

It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. It's one of our combo challenges.

Here's my card

My card uses both the sketch on the right and the inspiration of "furry friends". I used the cute puppy from Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies stamp set and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on some white cardstock. I added color with Copic markers - BG05, E43, E47, E59, G82, R11. I then fussy cut the image. I found some tone on tone patterned paper for the background. I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says STAMP's It's Your Birthday with Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink. I found a polka dot patterned paper and cut a strip. I used some dark brown paper and EK Success' Postage Stamp border punch for the bottom detail.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our challenge this week. Hoping to see your creation in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ Golden with Hero Arts

Our February Challenge at Die Cut Divas is sponsored by the fabulous company, Hero Arts. Hero Arts will kindly be giving our winner a $50 gift card. How generous! Thank you Hero Arts.

Our challenge this month is

GOLD

Isn't this a great challenge? Who doesn't love gold? Not me. Here's my card

I started my card by heat embossing with gold embossing powder this Hero Arts Celestial Bold Prints cling stamp on a white A2 card panel. I added some color with distress inks - Blueprint Sketch, Clipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, Wilted Violet applied with oval ink blending brushes. I trimmed the panel down slightly using a Waffle Flower Additional A2 Layers die. I matted with gold cardstock which I die cut using a Waffle Flower A2 Layers die. On a strip of purple cardstock, I heat embossed the sentiment using an old Hero Arts set called Year Round Sentiments with gold embossing powder. I also matted the purple strip with gold cardstock. I adhered all the pieces and the completed panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery this month. Be sure to add some gold to your card and don't forget to use die cuts.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #511

Happy Monday! Time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's our sketch that I hope will inspire you

Here's my take on the sketch

It's a simple card this time. I chose some patterned papers from an old Stampin' Up's Designer Series Paper pack. I cut three strips, corresponding with the sketch background. For the central panel, I chose a brighter color and a clear sticker from STAMPlorations' Inspirational #4 Clear Sticker pack. I matted the central panel with black to help it pop. I felt that card was a bit too plain, so I added some die cut flowers using a Paper Smooches' Flowers die and some bright blue paper. I completed the panel with some adhesive gems for the flower centers. I adhered this panel to a white A2 card base to finish my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.
