Happy Little Stampers ~ October Watercolour Challenge

Hello friends! It's the start of another month. Can you believe it's already October? It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I was inspired by these cards by Gina K Designs. I didn't totally make a "tropical" card but I think my colors are somewhat tropical-inspired.

I started by scribbling on an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers - May Green, Cobalt Blue, Light Green, Turquoise Green. I spritzed generously with water and allowed the colors to blend. I repeated the process a few times so that the panel was covered with color. I allowed the panel to dry. I then die cut different foliage using Gina K Design's Botanical Duo dies and Foliage Fillers dies. I liked how the colors pop off of black so like Gina K's cards, I used a black A2 card panel for the background. I arranged the foliage on the panel. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Aquamarine ink on some white cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with a My Favorite Things' Stitched Circle STAX die-namics die. I glued all the foliage down and then adhered the sentiment circle. I adhered the black panel to a white card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your watercolour creations in our gallery this month.

Die Cut Divas ~ Ending September with Elizabeth Craft Designs

As we say goodbye to September this year, we have just hours left in our September challenge at Die Cut Divas. Our challenge is

ANYTHING GOES

Our sponsor this month is Elizabeth Craft Designs who will be giving our winner a $25 gift card to their online store. Thank you.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Elizabeth Craft Design's Winter Green dies. I die cut the sprig of holly three times from green cardstock. I inked the edges with Peeled Paint distress inks, applied with a Ranger Detail Blending tool. I also die cut some berries and applied them on the holly sprigs. For the sentiment, I found a nice punny sentiment using Paper Smooches Holly Jolly stamp set and I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. My background is a kraft A2 card panel which I attached to a white card base to complete my card.

You have until 9pm Pacific Time to enter your ANYTHING GOES card to our gallery for our September challenge.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #626

Happy Tuesday Greetings to you. If it's Tuesday, it's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch for the next fortnight

Optional theme: Patterned Paper

Not going to lie, I struggled with this sketch with all the different shapes and elements. Here's what I came up with.

I thought that I'd simplify things by keeping the patterned papers (which was our optional theme) somewhat monochromatic. I used an old Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper Patterns Pack - In Color, 2010-12. See, I told you it was old! LOL! I chose 4 different patterned papers using the same color (I think it was Old Olive) and I cut the various elements from the sketch. For the sentiment, I thought I use a pop of color. I stamped the sentiment using Paper Smooches' Many Thanks stamp set with Concord & 9's Dove ink on a scrap of pink cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with a Spellbinders' Label 8 die. I found some paper flowers using the same colors  and used them for the circular element.

I'm anxious to see how you're inspired by our sketch this fortnight. Looking forward to seeing your creations in our gallery.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #247

Hope you're ready for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS because it's time. Here's our new code word

When I chose the word MASK, I was thinking of masking as a technique. I realize now, especially as Halloween nears, it could be a Halloween mask or even a super hero mask. Here's my card

For my card, I used some Gina K Design's Masking Magic. I cut a strip and tore it lengthwise and used each side to mask of the top and bottom of the inked areas on a white A2 card panel. I ink blended with Gina K Design's Turquoise Sea, Passionate Pink and Distress Ink's Carved Pumpkin, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then added the trees using Versafine Onyx Black ink and Gina K Design's Friendly Silhouettes stamp set, which I received as part of Crop & Create Delivered October 2021. I then carefully removed the masking magic. I stamped the sentiment, from the same stamp set. I adhered the white A2 card panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our code word "MASK". Please add your creations to our gallery for us to see.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #249

I noticed that AAA Cards is holding a design team call and their current challenge is

SKIES, GALAXIES, PLANETS, ETC

Here's AAA's Mood Board for inspiration

I couldn't resist. I love clean and simple cards and I had an idea. Here's my card

For my card, I used My Monthly Hero Kit December 2022 (Hero Arts). For the background, I started by randomly ink blending using distress inks - mustard seed, picked raspberry, peacock feathers and oval ink blending brushes on a white A2 card panel. I then stamped the background stamp using Concord & 9's Midnight ink. I used my MISTI and had to stamp a few times to get good coverage. I like how the ink blended colors peek through. I stamped the astronaut on the star and the star "contrails" using the Kit's stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - B12, B24, BG10, C2, E25, E33, E50, R11, RV23, Y06, Y15. I used the complementary dies to die cut the images. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set on a white A2 card panel with Concord & 9's Midnight ink. I die cut the background using a My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX die-namics die. I adhered the background with double-sided tape to the white card panel and glued the star "contrail" and astronaut on the star to the background square. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #543

Hope you're having a great Monday. It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here's my card

Obviously, I flipped the sketch 90 degrees to the right. For my card, I ink blended the background using Gina K Design's Turquoise Sea, Passionate Pink, Distress Ink's Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin inks and oval ink blending brushes. I then stamped the beautiful silhouetted forest scene using Gina K Design's Friendly Silhouettes stamp set, that I received as part of Crop & Create Delivered October 2021. I trimmed the panel to 2 1/2" x 4 3/4". I cut a light blue piece of cardstock, the same size for the offset rectangle of this sketch. For the sentiment, I stamped using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental on a piece of the same light blue cardstock. I trimmed it to 0.5" x 2". I kind of blended too much into the background piece of light blue so I matted with black. I adhered all the pieces to a light gray A2 card panel and then adhered it to a white A2 card base with double-sided adhesive.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch. We invite you to add your card to our gallery.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #624

Honestly, there is very little that makes me happier than playing with paper and listening to music I love. Life seems so hectic - rushing to appointments or meetings, getting stuck in rush hour traffic, alarm clocks going off too early. I cherish my time at my craft table.

It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Optional theme: All Things Fall

I went with a really simple card this time. Clearly, I didn't incorporate the optional theme onto my card.

This sketch is so versatile and easy to work with. I grabbed my Stampin' Up's Cherry On Top 6x6 Designer Series Paper stack and picked four patterned papers. I love working with paper pads because all the colors on the patterned papers "go" together. the pads are designed that way. I cut the two rectangles on the right to 1 3/4" x 1 15/16" and the rectangle on the left to 1 3/4" x 4". The central rectangle was cut to 1 7/8" x 2 3/8". I used a clear sticker from STAMPlorations, from the Happy Happy Clear Sticker pack for my sentiment. I adhered everything to a light blue A2 card panel which was then adhered with double-sided tape to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery. We're anxious to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Die Cut Divas ~ Monster Hugs with Elizabeth Craft Designs

I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat. I don't like spooky or scary things. Cute things, I'm in! I have a monster card for the current challenge at Die Cut Divas. Our challenge is

ANYTHING GOES

Our sponsor this month is Elizabeth Craft Designs. They will be giving our winner a $25 gift card. Thank you, Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Here's my card

Isn't this monster adorable? It kind of reminds me of Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. I die cut the monster using Elizabeth Craft Designs Monster 3 die. I die cut the monster using a royal blue cardstock, light blue and black for the eye and white for the eye ball and teeth. I glued all the pieces together. I chose a circle background using the same light blue and die cut with a Sizzix circle die. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Way Cool Monsters stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Sapphire ink. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love for you to join us in our ANYTHING GOES challenge for the month of September and add your cards to our gallery.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #246

Honestly, there is nothing better than sitting at my craft table, playing with paper and listening to music. Yup, that's me, right now. I don't seem to make time to do this. I need to make it a priority because I'm important, right?

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS

I will admit that I'm not a gnome/fairy/mushroom-type person. I did a quite check of my craft supplies and didn't see any mushrooms. So, I checked over at Etsy for a mushroom digital stamp and purchased it. Here's my card

For my card, I used an image from a Mushroom SVG bundle by PrintablesOnPaper, that doesn't seem to be available anymore. I sized the image and printed it with my inkjet printer on cardstock. I colored the image with Copic markers C82, R17, W3, YG91. I trimmed the cardstock to an A2 size. I stamped the sentiment using Paper Smooches' Uplifters stamp set. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We're looking forward to seeing your clean and simple, mushroom cards this fortnight.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies September Challenge

Are you ready for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies? Hope so, because we have a new challenge for September.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Lawn Fawn's Ladybug and Leaf dies. I die cut the leaf using two shades of green and obviously die cut the ladybug with black and red. I did some inlaid placement of the "inner" pieces of both the leaf and ladybug. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Bitty Bugs stamp set, stamped onto a light olive A2 card panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I trimmed the A2 panel slightly and matted with a black A2 card panel which was adhered to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your project using die cuts in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Stencil Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends. We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge for you.

Here's my card

It's a birthday card that I made with Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Candles stencils. I used Post-it Tape to mask off other rows of candles, as I only wanted one row of candles for my card. I used my Wendy Vecchi's Make Art STAYtion to hold my white A2 card panel in place, as well as the stencils. I added color to the candles with distress inks - wilted violet, blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon, peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, mowed lawn, applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the base of the candles, I used a light hand and for the stripes, triangles, polka dots, I used more ink and a heavier hand. Basically, each candle has a tone-on-tone look. For the flames, I used mustard seed distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush. Layering stencils make is so much easier to add specific colors in specific places without additional masking. Genius! For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental with gold embossing powder. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your stencilled creations in our gallery this month.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #454

A friend of mine recently became a grandmother for the second time. I wanted to make a card for her daughter, the mother of the baby. My timing was perfect because the next challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! is

Here's my card

I made this card while away at a craft retreat. I had stamped and colored in the image before leaving as I wasn't taking any markers with me. The image is by Pretty Pink Posh and is from the Little One stamp set. I stamped the baby rattle with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used Copic markers in baby boy colors, for baby Finn. I used B12 and BG23. I fussy cut the rattle and struggled a bit with cutting out the little open space in the rattle's handle. I glued the rattle to a square of light teal cardstock and then adhered it to a blue A2 card panel. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Gina K Design's Powder Blue ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base. After I completed my card, I found out that my table mate had her We R Makers Crop-A-Dile with her and I could have used it to punch out the center of the rattle's handle. Oh well, handmade is better than Hallmark - right (to quote Jennifer McGuire)?

We'd love to see your "any occasion" card in our gallery this fortnight.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #541

Here in Canada, it's a statutory holiday, Labour Day. It's typically the day before the day that kids go back to school. Seeing that I'm retired, it feels like every day is a statutory holiday! LOL! Well, it is Monday so it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here's my card

I made this card for a friend who seems to do a little bit extra for others. To start, I used Heffy Doodle's Stoney Maloney stencil with pumice stone and hickory smoke distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes on a white A2 card panel. I cut a 2 1/4" strip for the central panel and adhered it to a dark gray A2 card base. For the sentiment, I used a scrap of light gray cardstock, Gerda Steiner Design's You Rock stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I die cut the sentiment using a Simon Says STAMP's Small Folded Banners die. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your interpretation of our sketch in our gallery.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Christmas Challenge

Christmas in September? Why not? If you're working on Christmas cards so you don't have a crazy scramble in December, we have a challenge for you at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Your Next Stamp's You Lift Me Up die that I received in the Crop & Create Delivered September 2022 event box. I die cut the snow globe  using silver shimmer cardstock. Next, I used a Sizzix circle die to die cut the "background" piece from white cardstock. I used Hero Arts' Winter Silhouettes stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Summer Shower ink to stamp the trees. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp the cute deer silhouette. I found the "background" too white so I lightly added some tumbled glass distress ink with an oval ink blending brush. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I heat embossed with silver embossing powder on a light blue A2 card panel. I glued the background piece in place and covered it with the snow globe die cut. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery. We're anxious to see if you've added a snow globe, or not.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Birthday Challenge

Can you believe that it's already September? Crazy, right? Well, according to my calendar, it's September and that means there is a new challenge starting at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge

Here's my card

I used Gina K Designs' products for my card. I received them as part of the kit for the Crop & Create Delivered - March 23-26, 2023 event. I used Gina K Design's Curved Floral die set, Curved Floral Layering Stencil set, Masks & Fillers Stencil and Sweet Sentiments stamp set. On some white cardstock, I used my Wendy Vechhi's Make Art STAY-tion to hold the stencils in place and added color using Gina K Design's Sweet Mango, Red Hot, Lucky Clover, Soft Stone and Ocean Mist inks, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I used the Masks & Fillers stencil to add the polka dots to the flower petals by overlapping it over the Curved Flower Layering Stencil. I then die cut the image using the matching die. I adhered the die cut to a light blue A2 card panel and also stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. To complete my card, I adhered the card panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your birthday creations in our gallery this month.
