Happy Little Stampers ~ April Watercolour Challenge

It's almost April - well, it is in Australia and it's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolor Challenge

Our challenge is always ANYTHING GOES, just be sure to use water somewhere! Here's my card

For my card, I added distress ink (mowed lawn, peacock feathers, salty ocean) onto a round acrylic block. I spritzed it with water and "stamped" it onto an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. In fact, I repeated the process, a couple of time until I was happy with the coverage and movement of the ink. When dried (I left it overnight), I stamped this gorgeous silhouette using Gina K Designs Friendly Silhouettes and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then stamped the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adhered the panel of bristol to a white A2 card panel to complete my card.

We'd love to see your watercolor projects or in other words, your projects where you have used water!

Die Cut Divas ~ Last Day of March Challenge

Can you believe that April is just around the corner? Yikes! Where does the time go? Today is the last day of our March Challenge

BIRTHDAY

Our sponsor this month is

Sunny Studio Stamps will be giving our winner a $25 gift certificate

Here's my BIRTHDAcard

I stamped the llama, the presents, the party hat and the bow using Sunny Studio's Lovable Llama stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - B24, BG05, E93, R29, R46, V15, W2, W3, Y17. I then die cut all the elements with Sunny Studio's Lovable Llama die set. For the background, I masked the oval area with My Favorite Things Oval Extraordinaire Stencil on a white A2 card base. I added the blue using tumbled glass and salty ocean distress inks applied with an oval blending brush. I then adhered the llama and all the accoutrements to the oval area. While the oval stencil was still in place, I used Lawn Fawn's Grassy stencil with mowed lawn distress ink, applied with an oval blending brush. I changed the placement of the stencil and altered the amount of pressure I applied to the blending brush to give the illusion of dimension to the grass. It was intentional to have some of the grass over the llama's feet. I used Sunny Studio's Candy Shoppe for the sentiment stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink to complete my card.

There is still a bit of time for you to join our BIRTHDAY challenge. Don't forget to use a die cut, because this is Die Cut Divas!

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #426

Are you ready for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! Our challenge is

For this challenge, we're looking for you to use something that makes a mark - ink, paint, colored pencils, stamping, heat embossing. You get the idea, right? Here's my card

I started with an A2 panel of white cardstock and My Favorite Things' Rectangle Extraordinaire stencil which I temporarily adhered to the card panel with washi tape. I added color with distress inks (tumbled glass, spun sugar, shaded lilac) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then stamped this beautiful silhouette using Gina K Designs' Friendly Silhouettes stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then removed the stencil. I'm looking at my card and wondering if I should have removed the stencil before I stamped the silhouette. Going to try that next time. For the sentiment, I stamped it from the same stamp set on some white cardstock. I trimmed it to just a bit wider than the colored background and quite thin. I popped up the sentiment using dimensionals. I then adhered this panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you make your mark on your card project!

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #548

Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

Here's my card

I used the sketch, but turned it upside down and I love pun-ny sentiments - so I had to use one on my card. I stamped the sheep using Gerda Steiner Designs' How Are You stamp set and Memento Tuxedo black ink. I added color with Copic markers - C2, C5, E93. I tried to add an illusion of texture but adding curls to the sheep's wool. For the grass, I used Lawn Fawn's Grassy Stencil and mowed lawn distress ink, applied with an oval blender brush. I moved the stencil several times, altering the amount of pressure I applied to the blender brush which resulted in lighter and darker areas. I didn't mask the sheep because I was ok if some of the grass covered the sheep. I stamped the sentiment using Reverse Confetti's All About Ewe stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink, to complete the one layer card.

We'd love to see what you create. Will you use the sketch or the technique or both?

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #465

Well, it's still Monday here on the Wet Coast (yup, it's raining again) so I'm here with a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

I was kind of inspired by the grid of the background. Here's my card

I started with STAMPlorations ARTplorations Just Plaid stencil and spun sugar, shaded lilac and tumbled glass distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes. I trimmed the panel to 4 1/8" x 4 1/8". I picked up some teal/blue cardstock and created a fish tail banner with it. I stamped the sentiment, off to the left using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I made a "faux" bow with some white grosgrain ribbon. This isn't a real bow but rather a 1.5" piece of ribbon, where the ends are cut on angles. This ribbon is placed inside a loop, which is tightened to look like a bow, without the bulk of a real bow. The ends were adhered behind the fish tail banner. The banner was attached to the plaid panel and the plaid panel was attached to a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of the same teal/blue cardstock to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch this week.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #216

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS

Here's my card

I had purchased this stamp set some time ago. I'm happy that I finally got to use it. It's Your Next Stamp's Snorkel Fun Penguin stamp set. I stamped that cutie on some white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - BG05, Y38, YR04, YG06. I fussy cut the cute penguin and added glossy accents to the goggles. For the wavy background, I used Simon Says STAMP's Waves stencil and added distress inks (peacock feathers, salty ocean) applied with an oval blending brush. I die cut it with a Sizzix circle die, large enough for the cute penguin. For the sentiment, I used The Alley Way's Sea Mates stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a white A2 card base. I adhered the circle of waves and the cute penguin to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our code word WATER.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #425

We have a new challenge for you at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Here's my card

When I saw this Simon Says STAMP Tumbling Leaves stencil, I knew that I had to have it. It's so fun. I used many oval blender brushes and lots of distress inks (mowed lawn, twisted citron, peeled paint, fossilized amber, wilted violet, dusty concord, rusty hinge, ripe persimmon, fired brick, aged mahogany) on a white A2 card panel. I used scraps of paper to try to keep the color where I wanted it to go. I tried to keep each leaf separate from the adjacent leaves. I used two colors per leaf. For the sentiment, I used PinkFresh Studio's Scripted Greetings dies - white cardstock for the word and vellum for the shadow. I used some leftover ink to add color to the word "Thanks", arranged in rainbow order. So I man aged to use both a stencil and die for my card but you can use either a stencil or die, or both.

We'd love to see your creations.

Perfectly CAS ~ March Challenge

It's finally starting to feel like Spring around here. The days are "slightly" warmer, some daffodil and crocus flowers have appeared and there are cherry blossoms in some trees. Yippee!

We have a new challenge for you at Perfectly CAS. This time, our challenge is

Here's my card

For this card, I used Simon Says STAMP's Sweet Tulip die. With white cardstock, I die cut three times. I layered up and glued the outline parts for some dimension. With one set of the "inners", I inked them up with distress inks - ripe persimmon, tumbled glass and mowed lawn and oval blender brushes. On a white A2 card base, I stamped the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adhered the stacked outlines and carefully adhered the "inners" to the card base.

We'd love to see your die-cut creations. Please remember to cover one-third or less of your card. After all, we are "Perfectly CAS"!

Die Cut Divas ~ Birthday Fishes with Sunny Studio Stamps

Our current challenge at Die Cut Divas is

BIRTHDAY

This month our sponsor is Sunny Studio Stamps who will be giving our winner a $25 gift certificate.

Here's my card

When I was making this card, I had some leftover "waves" to use on this current card.

To recap, I used Simon Says STAMP's waves stencil and salty ocean, peacock feathers and mermaid lagoon distress inks, applied with oval blending brushes on a white panel. I cut the strip for the "other" card and die cut a circle with a Sizzix circle die for this current card. I stamped the fish using Sunny Studio's Oceans of Joy stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers B02, V15, Y06, Y15, YR04 and fussy cut the fish. To add a bit of shimmer, I used clear Wink of Stella on all the fish. On a white A2 card base, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. I love a pun-ny sentiment! I adhered the circle to the card base and glued the fish onto the "wave-y" circle to complete my card.

We'd love to see your birthday creations. If you're like me, I'm always needing birthday card.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #546

Hi! We have a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's the sketch

Optional: shades of green

I took a little bit of creative flipped the sketch 180 degrees and took a bit of artistic license to change the vertical banner to an oval, to change the rectangle to a fussy cut image and widened slightly the horizontal strip. While I did use green on my card, it isn't a monochromatic green card, so I didn't go with the optional theme. Here's my card

I started by stenciling a white A2 panel with Bamboo Stencil by Paper Rose and old paper and bundled sage distress inks, applied with oval blending brushes. I have an old unbranded stamp set of Japanese images. I stamped this little guy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers - B93, B95, E41, R29. I then fussy cut the little guy. I used  an Echo Park oval nesting die to die cut the dark teal oval. For the sentiment, I found a cut a strip of matching cardstock and stamped the sentiment using Waffle Flower's Konnichiwa stamp set. I adhered all the pieces and popped the little guy up with dimensionals. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #463

It's still Monday here on the West Coast, at least for a few more hours. It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Here's my card

I have quite the collection of patterned papers, especially in 6x6 paper packs. I thumbed through a few until I found a pretty floral with some nice colors. I cut three strips 1 1/8" x 5" of the patterned paper. I wrote tiny numbers 1, 2, 3 on the reverse side, to help me keep them in order and keep the orientation correct. I adhered the strips onto a natural A2 card base. On a scrap of natural cardstock, I stamped the sentiment using Papertrey Ink's Ways to Say: Birthday stamp set. I cut the scrap into a 1 3/8" x 4 1/4" strip. I die cut a flower using My Favorite Things Flower and Leaf Trio die set. I used a 3/8" punch to punch out the center of the flower from a small scrap of yellow cardstock. I couldn't find a die to die cut leaves for my flower so I used some green cardstock and cut out a couple of leaves, freehand! I adhered the leaves and flower to the left of the sentiment strip to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge March 2022

We have a new challenge for you at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge

Here's my card

I started with an A2 sized piece of 96 lb bristol and added distress ink (twisted citron, peacock feathers, salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, wilted violet) with oval blender brushes. I then spritzed with water the Wendy Vecchi Polka Dotty stencil and applied the stencil, water-side down onto the inked panel. For the sentiment, I used Birch Press Big Thanks Sugar Script dies with purple and black cardstock scraps. I adhered the purple to the black shadow and adhered it to the background panel. I trimmed the panel and matted with a black A2 card panel. To complete the card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base and I added a few sequins.

We'd love to see your stenciled creations.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #215

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS.

What a fabulous code word, well if you're a cat person. I definitely am! Here's my card

I had a difficult time choosing the cat image I wanted to use. I finally settled on this one using Newton's Nook's Newton Scoots By stamp set. I stamped it using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - BG15, C2, C3, C5, E93, R22, Y02 and then fussy cut the image. I die cut a circle with light blue cardstock and a Sizzix circle die. Using a white A2 card base, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in the lower right corner using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then adhered the light blue circle and the fussy cut image, to complete the card. Wonder where the kitty is headed and where is his/her helmet? LOL

We'd love to see your feline-inspired cards. Please remember to keep your card - clean and simple.

Happy Little Stampers ~ March 2022 Christmas Challenge

While some of the early snowdrops and crocus are now blooming, is it to early to think about Christmas or are you one of those who loves Christmas year round? As long as I don't think about the frenzy around sending Christmas cards or buying Christmas presents, I'm good thinking about Christmas. Goodness knows, I have a lot of Christmas stamps, dies and patterned paper!

We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge

Here's my card

When I saw the optional theme of twine, I decided to make a tag with a twine tie and adhere it to a card. I participated in Concord & 9th's Holly Jolly Workshop last November. For my tag, I used some supplies that we received in our box of supplies. I die cut the tag using a die that we received. I stamped the cute sentiment using two stamps that we also received - one using Concord & 9th's Grapefruit ink and one using Concord & 9th's Cranberry ink. I attached some white and silver twine to the top of the tag. To turn the tag into a card, I chose a light green A2 card panel and some zigzag green on green patterned paper. Does the patterned paper remind you of Charlie Brown's shirt? When adhering the tag to the card panel, I popped it up with dimensionals. I completed the card by adhering the card panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see you Christmas creations, whether you use twine or not!

Happy Little Stampers ~ CAS Challenge March 2022

Hi Friends! Apparently I was selected to join the HLS - CAS team but I didn't see the notice. Oops! So grateful, that I was contacted to see where my cards were. So, I sadly missed January and February, but I'm here now! It's time for a new challenge for March

Here's my card

When I think of water, I often think of a waves stencil with fish! So that's what I made. I started with a white A2 panel and stenciled using Simon Says STAMP's Waves stencil and distress inks (salty ocean, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon) applied with oval blending brushes. I cut it down to 2 1/8" x 4 1/4". I stamped the fish using Sunny Studio's Oceans of Joy stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color to the fish with Copic markers - B02, B95, R05, V15, Y16 and fussy cut them. I figured out where I was going to adhere the waves and stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink just below that on a white A2 card base. I adhered the wave panel and then the fish. I felt the the fish should shimmer so I added Wink of Stella to the fish.

We'd love to see your clean and simple "water" creations. Will it be watercolor, or rain drops, or pool fun or bathtub fun?

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge#424

We have a new challenge for you at Addicted to Stamps and More! The challenge is

Here's my card

I chose to make a sympathy card for my "any occasion". I seem to need more sympathy cards these days. I guess that it's all part of life, right - definitely a sad part of life. I prefer simple sympathy cards with darker tones. For this card, I found some patterned paper (middle strip) and placed it with dark gray strips of differing widths. I adhered the strips on a natural A2 card base. I heat embossed with gold embossing powder, the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's Sentimental Type stamp set on some natural cardstock. I trimmed it down to a 1 1/8" x 4 1/4" strip and adhered it to the card. To complete the card, I die cut using Simon Says STAMP's Eucalyptus Leaves die and some gold cardstock.

We'd love to see your "any occasion" card.

Yawn ... we're back at STAMPlorations CAS after a little break with a new challenge

Here's my card

I felt like doing some watercoloring this month. I started with an A2 panel of 140 lb Strathmore watercolor paper. I thought that I'd add a bit of color to the background. Using my Gansai Tambi 18 color large pan set, a fairly large brush and lots of water, I added a very light wash of green to the watercolor panel. I waited for the panel to dry. I used an anti-static pad and then heat embossed with white embossing powder STAMPlorations In Bloom: Charmed Cherry Blossoms stamp. I then added some pink to the blossoms again using my Gansai Tambi 18 color large pan set. This time I used a fine watercolor brush and a bit of water to achieve a more intense color. I kept adding more pink watercolor paint to the blossoms until I was happy with the result. I let the panel dry. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Clear Stickers - Just Thank You. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered it to a natural A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your CAS (clean and simple) creations over at our blog.
