It's Tuesday morning which must mean that it's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's the sketch which we hope will inspire you.

Optional Theme: Bundle Up

Here's my card

What do you think? Does this image feel like "bundle up"? I mean she is wearing a parka, mitts and boots. Well, this was my attempt at "bundle up". This image uses Your Next Stamp's Hot Cocoa Phoebe which I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used Copic markers to add color - BG13, BG15, C5, C7, E25, E33, E50, RV14, RV23, V06, V15. I cut the panel to 3 3/4" x 3". I also stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in the hearts with Copic RV14. I trimmed the sentiment panel to 2 1/2" x 3/4". I found some wintery patterned paper that coordinated with the colored in image. I cut the pieces to reflect the sketch. I used some silver twine for the bow and the horizontal piece. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

With Christmas getting closer, I hope that you're still finding time to craft. I find that playing with paper and glue calms me down and it's a little escape from the hectic pace of life today. If you're looking for some inspiration, we have a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

Optional theme: trees

Here's my card

On my card, I made the lone tree the focal point. I used Stampin' Up's Festival of Trees stamp set with Concord & 9th's Evergreen ink, stamped onto some natural cardstock. I used gold embossing powder for the pot at the base of the tree. It doesn't photograph well. I searched through my patterned paper for two pieces of traditional red and green paper. I die cut the circles using a Sizzix circle die. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Sentimental Type which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder on red cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with a My Favorite Things' Skinny Strips die-namics die. I found some tone-on-tone patterned paper for the background panel. I glued all the pieces in place and then adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Optional Theme - Thanksgiving

Here's my take on the sketch

I incorporated the optional theme of "Thanksgiving" with an autumnal feel on my card. I used Altenew's With Gratitude stamp set. I heat embossed with gold embossing powder several leaves on 96 lb bristol. I wanted a strip 2" x 5.5" and a rectangle 2 3/4" x 2" to also include the sentiment. I added the color with a paint brush, some water and distress inks - evergreen bough, mustard seed, pine needles, ripe persimmon, cracked pistachio. I chose the colors based on the striped patterned paper I used as the background. To complete the card, I cut a 3" x 2.5" teal rectangle as the final element. I adhered all the pieces with double sided tape and then adhered it to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

How are you doing? Hope you're finding time to craft. There is very little that makes me feel better than playing with paper at my craft table. We have a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday that we hope will inspire you.

Optional Theme: Warm Drinks

Here's my card

I was able incorporate the optional theme of Warm Drinks onto my card. I started with the little coffee cup using Create-A-Smile's Coffee First stamp set. I stamped the coffee cup with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white cardstock and added color with Copic markers - 100,  YG91. I die cut the white cardstock with a My Favorite Things' Stitched Square STAX die-namics die. To add the patterned paper coffee cup sleeve, I stamped the image onto the patterned paper and fussy cut it. I stamped the heart onto a scrap of white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink ,added color with Copic marker R29 and fussy cut it. I glued the coffee cup sleeve and the heart in place. For the background, I started with some natural cardstock and Tim Holtz Collection/Stampers' Anonymous Layer Stencil Mini #3 (don't know where my regular sized stencil is - LOL!). I added color with the stencils and gathered twigs and ground espresso distress inks, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I moved the stencil around to add the splatters and coffee rings on the natural cardstock. I trimmed it down and cut the curve with Creative Memories' Jumbo Circle custom cutting system and the red blade. I stamped the sentiment using STAMPlorations' Hello, Coffee stamp set on some light teal cardstock and die cut it with a Sizzix circle die. I trimmed it to reflect the element on the sketch. I glued the pieces onto a kraft A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Here I am, going along with my daily things, totally oblivious that it's Monday and not Sunday. That's what happens when here in Canada, it's Thanksgiving. That means that I'm a bit behind schedule. I typically like to have my blog posts written a couple days in advance so I'm not scrambling - like I am now! LOL!

It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Here's my card

For my card, I started with Your Next Stamp's Autumn Harvest stamp set. I stamped this image with the bunnies and pumpkins with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then added color with Copic markers - BG23, E25, E33, RV21, Y38, YR04. I then die cut the image with a Sizzix circle die. I found some patterned papers that went with my color scheme and cut them using the sketch as a guide. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches Many Thanks stamp set and stamped with Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink onto a strip of natural cardstock. I adhered all the elements onto a natural A2 card base to complete my card.

Happy Tuesday Greetings to you. If it's Tuesday, it's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch for the next fortnight

Optional theme: Patterned Paper

Not going to lie, I struggled with this sketch with all the different shapes and elements. Here's what I came up with.

I thought that I'd simplify things by keeping the patterned papers (which was our optional theme) somewhat monochromatic. I used an old Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper Patterns Pack - In Color, 2010-12. See, I told you it was old! LOL! I chose 4 different patterned papers using the same color (I think it was Old Olive) and I cut the various elements from the sketch. For the sentiment, I thought I use a pop of color. I stamped the sentiment using Paper Smooches' Many Thanks stamp set with Concord & 9's Dove ink on a scrap of pink cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with a Spellbinders' Label 8 die. I found some paper flowers using the same colors  and used them for the circular element.

Honestly, there is very little that makes me happier than playing with paper and listening to music I love. Life seems so hectic - rushing to appointments or meetings, getting stuck in rush hour traffic, alarm clocks going off too early. I cherish my time at my craft table. 

It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Optional theme: All Things Fall

I went with a really simple card this time. Clearly, I didn't incorporate the optional theme onto my card.

This sketch is so versatile and easy to work with. I grabbed my Stampin' Up's Cherry On Top 6x6 Designer Series Paper stack and picked four patterned papers. I love working with paper pads because all the colors on the patterned papers "go" together. the pads are designed that way. I cut the two rectangles on the right to 1 3/4" x 1 15/16" and the rectangle on the left to 1 3/4" x 4". The central rectangle was cut to 1 7/8" x 2 3/8". I used a clear sticker from STAMPlorations, from the Happy Happy Clear Sticker pack for my sentiment. I adhered everything to a light blue A2 card panel which was then adhered with double-sided tape to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch to inspire you for the next fortnight.

Optional theme: washi tape

Here's my card

I was away at a crafting weekend when I made my card. I was limited by the supplies I had taken with me. I stamped the monster using Your Next Stamp's Way Cool Monsters. I unfortunately didn't have any markers with me to color in the monster. So, I chose to leave it uncolored and die cut it using a Sizzix circle die. To add the stripes of color to the card, I used Post-it Tape to mask the areas and added distress ink - twisted citron, carved pumpkin and peacock feathers applied with oval ink blending brushes. The sentiment was stamped using the same stamp set on a scrap of white cardstock and trimmed into a rectangle. To help separate the focal image die cut and the sentiment rectangle from the white card base, I inked the edges with distress ink. I adhered the A2 white card panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card. It was fun to create a card with the supplies I had with me.

Do you ever feel like you're always trying to catch up? I'm supposed to be retired and taking life easily. However, it feels like I'm not enjoying my golden years like I thought. I guess that I need to learn to say "no". It feels so selfish though. When someone asks for help, why is it so hard to say "no" or maybe "not now". I just want to spend time at my craft table and listen to music. That's my happy place! OK, off my soap box and back to reality. It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch

Optional theme: add a sentiment

Here's my card and I added a sentiment which is our optional theme.

I flipped the sketch 90 degrees to the left. For my focal image, I used Paper Smooches' Birthday Buddies stamp set. I stamped the little worm with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and added color with Copic markers - BG09, C3, C7, E25, E29, E43, E50, G07, Y17. I used a My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX die-namics die to die cut the little worm. I found some patterned paper, both for behind the stitched circle die cut and for the horizontal strip. I stamped the punny sentiment from the same stamp set on a scrap of white cardstock and trimmed it into a rectangle. I adhered all the pieces to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Hello Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday

This is a technique &/or sketch challenge. Will you be inspired to create a slimline card or will you be inspired by the sketch or both? Here's my card

I went for the "both" challenge - a slimline (actually a mini slimline 6" x 3 1/2") and I followed the sketch. I die cut the heart shapes using a Memory Box's Cherub Hearts die. For the bride, I die cut using a white shimmer cardstock (it doesn't photograph) and for the groom, I die cut both a black and white heart. I trimmed the black heart by cutting a "V" shape for jacket, exposing the white shirt behind. I added tiny adhesive pearls on both the bride's and groom's hearts. For the sentiment, I stamped it using Lawn Fawn's Wavy Sayings stamp set and die cut it using the matching die from Lawn Fawn's Simple Wavy Banners die set. I adhered everything to a light gray mini slimline card base to complete my card.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #616

It's Tuesday. You know what that means. It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch, which we hope will inspire you. The challenge will run two weeks.

Optional Theme: Summer Drinks

I changed up the sketch. Instead of using a circle for the focal point, I used a square piece of cardstock with a circular design. While I don't have a summer drink on my card, it does contain a phrase that is often used by friends of Bill W's - one day at a time. Here's my card

I started by making the background which would become the central square. I started with some 96 lb bristol. I smooshed some distress inks (salvaged patina, worn lipstick, wilted violet) on a plastic place mat and picked up the ink with a slightly wet paint brush. I added color randomly on the bristol and used extra water to help the colors blend. When I was happy, I put the bristol aside to dry. When it was dry, I stamped the focal image using Unity Stamp's One Day at a Time with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I looked through my stash of patterned papers for some that went with the distress inks I used. I made the strips 0.5" x 4.25". I adhered them to a white A2 card base. I also stamped the sentiment, from the same Unity Stamp's set with PinkFresh Studio's Sky Blue ink. I used a My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX die-namics die to trim the bristol panel. I adhered this bristol panel to the card base using double-sided tape to complete my card.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #614

Anyone else's days all mixed up? It happens to me whenever there are long weekends. I almost forgot to post my card for Try Stampin' On Tuesday. We have a new challenge for you for the next two weeks.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with this cute monster using Your Next Stamp's Way Cool Monsters. I'm sad that Your Next Stamp is closing and I wish their owner all the best in whatever her future endeavours may be. I stamped this monster with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on some white cardstock. I picked out the paper for the stripes so I tried to match as best I could with my Copic markers. I used BG49, E71, G07 R17, Y17 and added glossy accents to the eyes. I think monsters should have bulging eyes, right? Once the glossy accents dried, I used a die from Echo Park Stitched Oval Nesting die set to die cut the oval. I glued the strips of patterned paper to a white A2 card base and then adhered the oval with the monster in place to complete my card.

Here's my card

For my card, I followed the sketch. I couldn't find enough "nautical" stuff to incorporate the photo inspiration onto my card. I started my card by stenciling, using Heffy Doodle's Stoney Maloney stencil and pumice stone and hickory smoke distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes on a light gray A2 card panel. For the rocks, I used Gerda Steiner Designs' You Rock stamp set. I stamped the two rocks (they are together) and the guitar playing rock onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - C2, C3, C5, RV29, W2, W3, YG63. I fussy cut the images and glued them onto my card panel. I stamped the sentiment in the opposite corner. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Here's my card

For my masculine birthday card, I used the motorcycle stamp from Unity Stamp's Kit of the Month for June 2018, called We Can Rise. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers - BG05, C2, C5, C7. I trimmed the panel to 4 1/2" x 2 5/8". I matted with dark gray cardstock. I added the tire mark using CTMH's Fast and Furious stamp set with Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages, stamped with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. I adhered the panel with double-sided tape to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

It's Tuesday so it must be time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. 

Optional: Create a Scene

Obviously, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees and created a little scene. I inked up a white panel with distress inks - candied apple, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, applied in rainbow order with oval ink blending brushes. I stamped the tree tops using Gina K Design's Friendly Silhouettes Stamp Set. I added the birds using Lavinia Stamps' Birds stamp. I die cut the panel using a die from Echo Park Stitched Oval Nesting die set. I used some scraps of cardstock to make the vertical elements. I used a die from Simon Says STAMP's Scallop Stitches wafer dies to make the green scalloped element. I felt that the elements looked best on a black panel. So I heat embossed with silver embossing powder on a black A2 panel using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages stamp set. I adhered all the elements to the panel and then used double-sided tape to attach the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Do you ever look at a card sketch and think, I know exactly what to use? Well, it happened this time. It doesn't happen often at all. I find that I flip through my stamps, stencils, patterned papers, dies to look for inspiration. However, for the next challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday, I was inspired! Here's the sketch

optional theme: use dies &/or punches

Here's my card

I obviously changed the square for a circle element and used a die, which satisfies the optional theme. In this case, I used Scrapbook & Cards Today Change the World stamp and die set, which I received as part of the kit for Crop & Create Delivered ~ October 2021. I inked up the stamp with Versamark ink on white cardstock and used white embossing powder which I heat set. I added color with distress inks - picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, mowed lawn, blueprint sketch, applied with oval ink blending brushes. With a dry cloth, I removed any ink from the heat embossed sections. I die cut the image using the die from the set. I then went through some of my patterned papers, looking for papers that I could use for the horizontal strips. I chose to use simple strips of paper for the background, which was glued to a light blue A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I used the same stamp set, stamped with PinkFresh Studio's Sparking Rose ink and fussy cut. I popped up the focal image for a bit of added dimension.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #604

I got lucky. I chipped a tooth yesterday eating pita chips. My dentist was closed yesterday so first thing today, I called to see if they could squeeze me in. They could! YIPPEE! Then, I wondered if the tooth would be pulled and then I'd need a super, expensive implant. I only saw dollar signs. However, my dentist was able to repair it with minimal pain and expensive. I'm counting my blessings! 

Enough about me. It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

Optional Theme: brads/eyelets

Here's my card

I started with an old Stampin' Up 6x6 paper pack called Cherry On Top for my color inspiration. I used Hero Arts Pary Confetti Stencil that was part of the Crop & Create Delivered Fall 2022 kit. I added color, randomly, using that stencil on a white A2 card panel with distress inks (saltwater taffy, evergreen bough, fossilized amber, mowed lawn) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I cut strips which I cut into fishtail banners from paper in my color inspiration pack. For the sentiment, I stamped it using Simon Says STAMP's It's Your Birthday stamp set and Concord & 9th's Oceanside and Parsley inks on white cardstock. I trimmed the white cardstock to 3 1/2" x 1 3/4". I adhered the sentiment panel using brads. I dusted off my We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes for the brads.

I guess it's back to the grind today after a four day weekend for Easter. It's definitely getting more difficult waking up early to go to work! The night owl in me that has been absent for decades seems to be making a comeback. 

It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

Here's my card

For my card, I combined both rainbow (with the colors I chose) and the sketch. I started with a scrap of 96 lb bristol that I had watercolored with picked raspberry and a waterbrush. I love the different tones of color achieved with watercolor. I die cut it as the base for the gift using STAMPlorations Gift Builder #1 while I used a silver shimmer cardstock for the fun top die cut layer. For the inked panel, I used Pink & Main's Celebrate Stencil with distress inks - picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch and wilted violet. I inked blended each colr on a bit of a diagonal, working to blend the colors where they overlapped. I cut the panel down to 2 3/4" x 4 1/2". For the sentiment, I stamped using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages on a scrap of teal cardstock which I then die cut using a My Favorite Thing's Skinny Strips die. I attached all the elements on a mid-tone gray A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Optional theme: Bunny, ducky &/or lamb

Here's my card

I chose to add a couple of lambs, along with a pun-ny sentiment. I kind of rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the left and flipped. For my card, I used Gerda Steiner Designs' How Are You stamp set for the lambs and the sentiment. I stamped the lambs on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers - C2, C3, C5. I fussy-cut the two lambs. For the background of the panel, I used Lawn Fawn's Grassy Stencil inked with twisted citron and mowed lawn distress inks, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I moved the stencil and re-inked several times. I trimmed the grass panel to 2 3/4" x 4 3/4". I adhered all the pieces in place on a light blue card base to complete the card.

Here's my card

I decided to use Simon Says STAMP's Mother Earth stamp set for my card. I had purchased it some time ago and had never used it ... until now. I love how the card turned out. I stamped the main image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with lots of Copic markers - B00, B02, B24, B93, BG13, C3, G82, R32, V15, V17, Y06, Y15, Y17, Y38, YG03, YG06, YG63, YR16. I trimmed the image to 2 3/4" x 2 3/4". I die cut the frame using Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese, Again die set and black cardstock. I glued the focal image behind the black frame with double sided tape. I added a few copper rhinestones to the bottom left of the frame. For the sentiment, I stamped it with black ink on a light gray A2 card base. Sorry, I can't remember which stamp set I used - oops! I adhered the frame and focal image on the card base to complete my card.
