Die Cut Divas ~ Getting Flowery with Altenew

It's the end of April, already? Well, that means it's the last day of our April Challenge at Die Cut Divas. Our challenge this month is

FLOWERS

Our sponsor this month is Altenew. They generously will be giving our winner a $50 gift certificate to their online store. Thank you Altenew.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel. I ink blended randomly with distress inks - wilted violet, tumbled glass, blueprint sketch in some areas and twisted citron, lucky clover and mowed lawn in other areas. I stamped the floral images in the blue/purple areas and the leafy images in the green areas using Altenew's Charming Doodles stamp set. I die cut the images out with Altenew's Charming Doodles die set. I arranged the floral and leafy die cuts on a light blue A2 card panel. I added the sentiment using Altenew's Adore You stamp set on some blue cardstock and adhered it over the bases of the floral and leafy die cuts. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Our challenge ends tonight. We'd love to see your FLOWER creation in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #669

It's time for a new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's our sketch.

Here's my card

I started my card with a mauve A2 card panel and Spellbinders' Meandering Floral Embossing Folder of the Month, November 2023. I added the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Simply Thank You die and glued it over a purple rectangle. For the flower, I used Altenew's Adore You stamp set. I stamped the flower with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers BG13 and BG 15. I used a silver glitter pen to add a bit of sparkle to the center of the flower. Then, I fussy cut the flower. I adhered the sentiment rectangle and glued the flower in place on the background panel. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see you creations based on our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #627

How is it Monday already? Well, time sure flies by. It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with an A2 panel of 100 lb bristol and STAMPlorations' Blossom Sprays #1. I heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder. I added color using distress inks - picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, mowed lawn, wilted violet, evergreen bough. I smooshed the ink on a plastic place mat and picked up the ink with a wet paint brush. The heat embossing helped to keep the ink contained. For the sentiment, I used Papertrey Ink's Wondrous Words - Thank You die. I glued the sentiment die cut in place and adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape to complete my card.

We'd love to see your take on our sketch in the gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #289

Ready for some Clean and Simple goodness? We have a new challenge starting at AAA Cards. This fortnight, it's a color challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Simon Says STAMP's Sweet Tulip die. I die cut three times - two with white cardstock and one with black cardstock. I glued them together with the black on top. i then die cut the "pieces" with colored cardstock scraps. I didn't have a dark green, so I made some colored cardstock with Forest Moss distress ink, using the ink to paper technique. On a white A2 card base, I glued the stacked die cut in place and glued the inlaid die cut pieces. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set.

We'd love to see what you create with our color challenge in our gallery.

I applied the color randomly. When the panel was dry, I stamped the floral image using PinkFresh Studio's Whimsical Blooms. I die cut the image with the coordinating die. I glued the focal image on a yellow A2 card panel and stamped the sentiment using Papertrey Ink's Keep It Simple: Thank You stamp set. Time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. Our Code Word for the next two weeks is

Here's my card

I started with an A2 panel of 100 lb bristol. I free cut a mask with squiggles from printer paper. I used this mask to add distress inks - wilted violet, tumbled glass, blueprint sketch, applied with oval ink blending brushes. Using My Favorite Things' Sun Ray stencil Mix-ables and Simon Hurley Astro Paste - frostbite, I added radiating lines from a central circle. Here's a close-up.

For the star, I used Lawn Fawn's So Jelly stamp set and die. I stamped the starfish with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers Y15 and Y17. I die cut the starfish and attached it with dimensionals. For the sentiment, I used the stamp set and gold embossing powder on some yellow cardstock. I made a "fake" 3D double-fish tail banner and adhered it in place. To complete my card, I adhered the bristol panel to a white A2 card base.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #668

Looking for some inspiration? We have a new sketch challenge starting at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's the sketch

Here's my card

I decided on a sympathy card. I've been needing a couple lately. I looked through my patterned paper stash and found some white/gray/black paper. I started with some printer paper to get the angle cuts right. Then I cut the patterned paper. I guess I could have made two cards at the same time with the paper. For the focal point, I used Simon Says STAMP's Eucalyptus Leaves die and gold cardstock. I placed the die cut on a black circle die cut using a Sizzix circle die. For the sentiment, I used Hero Arts With Sympathy stamp set and gold embossing powder on black cardstock. I cut the sentiment into a small rectangle. I glued the pieces in place on a black A2 panel. To complete my card, I adhered the black panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your take on our sketch in the gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #625

Happy Monday Crafty Friends! It's time for our next challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch

Here's my card

For my card, I stacked die cuts using a Gina K Design's Botanical Duo die. I used three die cuts for a bit of dimension. I also had a leftover scrap of ink blending using distress inks - cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, wilted violet applied with oval ink blending brushes. I used it for the background for the die cut. I found some plaid patterned paper that had the colors I had used. My ink blended panel kind of disappeared in the plaid so I matted with blue cardstock. I also trimmed the patterned paper and matted with the same blue cardstock. For the sentiment, I used some scrap purple cardstock and Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental with PinkFresh Studio's Seaside ink. I trimmed the scrap to create a sentiment strip. I adhered all the pieces together and then the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you were inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with the lower right corner. On a white A2 panel, I used Clearly Besotted's Splish Splash stencil with distress inks - peacock feathers, tumbled glass, mermaid lagoon applied with oval ink blending brushes. I used Waffle Flowers' Birthday Fishes stamp set and stamped the fish wearing the birthday hat with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with Copic markers B02, B29 BG13, R05, R17, Y17, YR04. I fussy cut the fish and added glossy accents to its eye. I stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set with PinkFresh Studio's Summer Shower ink. Once the glossy accents dried, I glued the fish in place. To complete my card, I adhered the A2 panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

Our sponsor this month is Altenew. They generously will be giving our winner a $50 gift certificate to their online store. Thank you Altenew.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Altenew's Perfect Gift Layering Stencils, 3D embossing folder and die set that I received as part of the Crop & Create Delivered Card Making event, Fall 2023. I started by embossing a white A2 card panel with the Perfect Gift 3D embossing folder. I then used the coordinating Layering Stencils to add color to the flower using distress inks - picked raspberry, wild honey, dried marigold, mowed lawn applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then die cut the flower using the coordinating die. For the background, I started with a blue A2 card panel and die cut an oval using an oval die. I placed a white A2 card base behind the blue A2 panel and figured out where I wanted to adhere the flower. I placed everything in my MISTI and stamped the sentiment in the "opening" using Altenew's Adore You stamp set. I adhered everything together to complete my card.

Not going to mislead. This was a tricky sketch for me. This is what I came up with.

I started by ink blending a white A2 card panel. I used two stencils, My Favorite Things' Mini Cloud Edges stencil and Simon Says STAMP's Clouds for Days stencil along with distress inks (tumbled glass, wilted violet, picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, twisted citron, peacock feathers applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the puddle, I used Pink & Main's Puddles Boy, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with Ohuhu markers B575, E645, G177, G191, G487, RV194, Y360, YG040 and Copic markers C5, E50. I fussy cut the image. I turned the rainbow on the sketch to rainbow colored clouds and a rainbow-colored umbrella. For the sentiment and raindrops, I used Newton's Nook's Spring Showers stamp set.
