Happy Little Stampers ~ December Watercolour Challenge

We've made it to December. Almost time to say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024. It's time for our last challenge of 2023 at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with an A2 panel of white 96 lb bristol. I smooshed some distress ink on a plastic place mat, picked up some ink with a wet paint brush and put down a blob of color. I went in rainbow order, slightly overlapping as I went - kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, twisted citron, peacock feathers, wilted violet. I waited for the bristol to dry. I die cut the word "happy" using a happy die that I think might have been a My Favorite Things die-namics, but I no longer have the packaging so I'm not 100% sure. I die cut the word three times and glued them together for a bit of dimension. I stamped the "for you" using Simon Says STAMP's Happy stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink.

We'd love to see your watercolour projects in our gallery this month.

Die Cut Divas ~ Last Day of November's Challenge with Kat Scrappiness

It's the 30th of November so that means it's the last day of our challenge at Die Cut Divas. This month, our sponsor is Kat Scrappiness and they have a generous gift package worth $100 for our winner. Due to shipping costs, this gift package will be only be sent to someone with a valid US mailing address.

and our challenge is

ALL ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS (any holiday)

Here's my card

For my card, I used Kat Scrappiness' Nativity Scene die. I die cut some black cardstock with the die for a silhouette look. I inked up the background with distress inks - mermaid lagoon, wilted violet, chipped sapphire. I also die cut the stars with the same die from silver shimmer cardstock. I heat embossed with silver the sentiment using Paper Smooches' A Blessed Christmas stamp set. I adhered all the pieces to the background panel, which was then adhered to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape. I'm liking this reminder of Christ's birth.

We'd love to see your holiday-inspired cards. Hoping you have some time to craft and add your card to our gallery before the challenge is over.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #553

Happy last Monday of November. Hoping my American friends had a nice Thanksgiving. We have a new challenge for you at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's our sketch for the next two weeks.

Here's my card

For my mini-slimline card, I started by die cutting the base using Kat Scrappiness' Slimline Embossed Edge craft die from some pretty blue cardstock. I cut a piece of white cardstock 2 5/8" x 5" which I adhered to the pretty blue slimline panel. I die cut the flowers using Poppy Stamps' Potpourri Flower set and scraps of colored cardstock. I die cut the leaves using Poppy Stamps' Orchard Leaves set and scraps of green cardstock. I used a Spellbinders' Labels 8 die and light gray cardstock for the frame around the sentiment. I stamped the Thank You using Hero Arts' Year Round Sentiments and Concord & 9th's Dove ink on some white cardstock. I die cut the sentiment using a Echo Park's Stitched Oval Nesting die. I glued the pieces in place and then the panel to a 3 1/8" x 5 5/8" top-folding white card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your take on our current sketch. Please add your creation to our gallery.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #634

With Christmas getting closer, I hope that you're still finding time to craft. I find that playing with paper and glue calms me down and it's a little escape from the hectic pace of life today. If you're looking for some inspiration, we have a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

Optional theme: trees

Here's my card

On my card, I made the lone tree the focal point. I used Stampin' Up's Festival of Trees stamp set with Concord & 9th's Evergreen ink, stamped onto some natural cardstock. I used gold embossing powder for the pot at the base of the tree. It doesn't photograph well. I searched through my patterned paper for two pieces of traditional red and green paper. I die cut the circles using a Sizzix circle die. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Sentimental Type which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder on red cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with a My Favorite Things' Skinny Strips die-namics die. I found some tone-on-tone patterned paper for the background panel. I glued all the pieces in place and then adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch this fortnight. Please add your cards to our gallery.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #457

Now that the weather is getting colder and wetter, it's perfect for staying indoors and playing with paper! We have a new challenge for you at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Here's my Christmas card

For my card, I started with Simon Says STAMP's Color Me Trees stamp set. I stamped this funky tree with Versamark ink on 96 lb bristol paper and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I added color using distress inks - cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon, peacock feathers with a paint brush and some water. I liked the way these colors blended together. When dry, I fussy cut the tree. To help my funky tree pop a bit, I placed a green circle, die cut with a My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX die-namics die. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages, which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I adhered the focal image to the white A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base with double sided tape to complete the card.

We'd love to see your Christmas creations in our gallery. It's not too early to start on those Christmas cards.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #551

Had a nice day off today. It has finally stopped raining and while a bit chilly, the sun came out. It's Monday so it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch

Here's my card

I messed up the dimension a bit so this ended up a weird size - 4 3/4" x 4 1/4" (at least it'll fit in an A2 envelope). I started with Taylored Expressions Sneak a Peek stamp set. I stamped the bat and cow on light teal cardstock and I stamped the fox on light gray cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored in the images with Copic markers - C5, C7, E02, E08, E25, RV23, YG91. I then cut the 1 1/2" squares. I arranged them on a white A2 card panel which I trimmed down (for some reason that escapes me, right now - LOL!). I stamped the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages on light blue cardstock which was then die cut using a My Favorite Things Skinny Strips die-namics die. I used the same light blue to mat the white card panel. I adhered this panel to a white 4 3/4" x 4 1/4" card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery this fortnight.

Die Cut Divas ~ Holidays with Kat Scrappiness

This month over at Die Cut Divas, we are being sponsored by Kat Scrappiness. They will be giving our winner a very generous gift package, valued at $100. However, due to shipping rates, our winner needs to have a valid US shipping address to receive the prize.

Our challenge this month is

ALL ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS

Now, you're probably expecting a Christmas card, or maybe a Thanksgiving card from me. Oh no, how about Easter? LOL! I'm going to pretend that winter is already over. It's on to Spring! Here's my card

To start, I die cut an oval shape using an Kat Scrappiness' Never Ending Oval Craft die from a large post-it note. I used the post-it note as a stencil. I added tumbled glass distress ink with an oval ink blending brush on a white A2 side-opening card base. I die cut the tulips, greenery using Kat Scrappiness' Layered Tulip Bouquet die set from scraps of cardstock. I adhered the tulip pieces with white craft glue. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages stamp set and a My Favorite Things' Skinny Strips die-namics die. I glued the greenery, tulips and sentiment onto my card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your HOLIDAY-inspired cards in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies November Challenge

There is a new challenge for those who like die-cutting over at Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies

In keeping with my favorite style - clean and simple, here's my card.

I started by die cutting the flower and frame using Simon Says STAMP's Sweet Tulip die three times from white cardstock. I glued the layers together to stack them for a little dimension. I ink blended some white cardstock using distress inks - picked raspberry, mustard seed, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers applied with oval ink blending brushes. I measured the inside dimension of the rectangle and cut the ink blended piece to that dimension. I then glued the ink blended rectangle to a white A2 card base and then glued the die cut in place. I was so concerned about centering the image that I didn't leave a "good" place for a sentiment, so I left this card without a sentiment.

We'd love to see your "anything goes with dies" card in our gallery this month.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #632

Hope you're ready for a new sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday, which we hope will inspire you.

Optional Theme - Thanksgiving

Here's my take on the sketch

I incorporated the optional theme of "Thanksgiving" with an autumnal feel on my card. I used Altenew's With Gratitude stamp set. I heat embossed with gold embossing powder several leaves on 96 lb bristol. I wanted a strip 2" x 5.5" and a rectangle 2 3/4" x 2" to also include the sentiment. I added the color with a paint brush, some water and distress inks - evergreen bough, mustard seed, pine needles, ripe persimmon, cracked pistachio. I chose the colors based on the striped patterned paper I used as the background. To complete the card, I cut a 3" x 2.5" teal rectangle as the final element. I adhered all the pieces with double sided tape and then adhered it to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch and showcase your work in our gallery this fortnight.

Happy Little Stampers ~ November Stencil Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.

Here's my card

I have to say that using layering stencils to separate colors, instead of using bits of post-it tape to separate the colors, really makes the adding of colors easy. For my card, I used Lawn Fawn's Tropical Leaves background stencil (2 layers) and distress inks - tisted citron, cracked pistachio, abandoned coral, mustard seed, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I trimmed the inked panel to 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" and matted with black cardstock. The sentiment uses Simon Says STAMP's Flower Friend stamp set. I adhered the matted ink panel to a bright green A2 card panel with double sided tape. To complete my card, I adhered this panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your stenciled creations in our gallery this month.

Happy Little Stampers ~ November Christmas Challenge

How are you Christmas cards coming along? Have you started yet? I'm about halfway through. At Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge, we have a new challenge for November.

Here's my card

I went for a nativity card. I used Woodware's Mary and Joseph. I stamped it on a white A2 card panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added color with Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. I trimmed the white panel slightly and matted with a black A2 card panel. I then adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your Christmas creations in our gallery this month. Will you use our Optional Twist of "Bah Hum Bug"?

Happy Little Stampers ~ November Birthday Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel and Pink & Main's Mask It Circle stencil. I added color with Salty Ocean distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the little monster, I used Your Next Stamp's Way Cool Monster stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink stamped on some white cardstock. I used the same stamp set to add the sentiment on the little monster's sign. I added color with Copic markers - E33, E50, G14, Y06, YR04 and then fussy cut the monster. I popped the little monster with dimensionals and placed it in the center of the inked circle. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your birthday creation(s) in our gallery this month.
