Happy Little Stampers ~ May Watercolour Challenge

Another month - May already. Crazy, right? With this new month, we have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I stamped the image with WPlus9's Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlias stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink on an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. I chose the bristol because I was intending to do some watercolouring. I added the colour with Altenew's Tropical Fiesta Set of watercolor brush markers and a water brush. I added a bit of blue around the flowers and leaves to give a bit of interest to the background. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. This completes my one layer watercolour card.

We'd love to see your projects - just be sure to add water somehow!

Die Cut Divas ~ Last Day of our April Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends. Hard to believe that we're at the end of April. Of course, I can't wait until the "April Showers" are over. Bring on the May Flowers! It's the last day of the challenge at Die Cut Divas.

This month, our challenge is a tic-tac-toe game.

Our sponsor this month is Joy Clair Designs. They sell traditional stamps, as well as digital stamps, dies, stencils and other crafty supplies. They will be giving our winner - three digital stamps.

For my card, I chose the left column - at least 2 layers, not counting the card base, color yellow, flowers. Here's my card

For my card, I started with Joy Clair's You Are Loved Digital Stamps. I chose the beautiful daffodils, sized it and printed it onto cardstock with my inkjet printer. I added color to the image with Copic markers - Y15, Y38, YG63, YG67. I then die cut the image using a die from Echo Park's Stitched Oval Nesting Die Set. I then looked through my stash of patterned papers for something that would help to set off the daffodils. I found a tone-on-tone gold/yellow that was perfect and I die cut it with a die from Waffle Flowers Additional A2 Layers die set. I also printed out the sentiment using Joy Clair's Always in Style Digital Stamps and I trimmed it to 3/4" x 3". I adhered the oval and sentiment to the tone-on-tone panel which I then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

Still some hours left in our challenge. We'd love to have you choose a tic-tac-toe line and participate with us. Please remember to use a die cut, because we are Die Cut Divas!

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #219

There is something so calming about clean and simple cards. It's definitely "my" style of card making. We have a new challenge for you at Addicted to CAS. For the next fortnight, our challenge is

Here's my card

For my card, I heat-embossed the main image using Simon Says STAMP's Beautiful Mothers stamp set and gold embossing powder on an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. I used distress inks (picked raspberry, ripe persimmon, salty ocean, mowed lawn, mustard seed, wilted violet, fossilized amber) picked up with a thin paint brush. I used some water to make the color "move". When you heat emboss the image, it makes it "easier" to keep the color contained, where you want it! For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Bouquet of Thanks stamp set, which was heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I trimmed the panel down so that I could mat it with gold cardstock. Wondering which friend I should send this card to.

We'd love to see your "friendship" inspired clean and simple cards.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #428

Hey Crafty Friends! How are you doing? It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! Our challenge is

I seem to need a good supply of birthday cards. This challenge is a great way for me to add to my birthday card stash. Here's my card

For my card, I started with CTMH's A Flowering Bunch Stamp of the Month which I heat embossed with white on 96 lb bristol. I added color with Altenew's Tropical Fiesta set watercolor brush markers and a water brush. I didn't spend a lot of time on the details. Rather, I just added color "in the area" and wasn't too concerned about the color staying within the embossed areas. I cut the bristol down to 2.5" x 4.25" and adhered the panel to a white A2 card base. I added the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentiment stamp set, stamped with Hero Arts Fog ink. In retrospect, I probably should have used a darker ink, but I was trying to keep things light (maybe a bit too light)!

We'd love to see your birthday cards in our gallery.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #552

It's Tuesday so it must be time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. The challenge for the next fortnight is

Optional theme: White/Black and one other color

Here's my card

For my card, I also added the optional theme of black/white and one other color - in my case, red. I started with the patterned paper which I trimmed just slightly smaller than A2 size so that it could be matted with a black A2 panel. For the tag, I used some red patterned paper and die cut it using My Favorite Things' Tag Builder Buleprints 2 die set. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Clean Line Everyday stamp set which I heat embossed with white embossing powder on black cardstock. I die cut a red heart using a Lawn Fawn Hearts die. To complete the card, I used some black and white baker's twine, tied in a bow near the top of the panel. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch and will you or won't you add the optional theme?

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #469

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Our sketch for the next two weeks is

Here's my card

For my card, I cut a white panel that was 3 3/8" x 8 3/8" and a black panel that was 3 1/2" x 8 1/2". I adhered the white panel onto the black panel. I wanted to use these fish from Rubbernecker Stamps Fish Group stamp set. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers G14, Y38, YG06, YG09, YR04, YR16. Then I fussy cut them and added glossy accents to the eyes for a bit of shine. For the wavy backgrounds for the fish, I used Simon Says STAMP's Wave stencil with tumbled glass and salty ocean distress ink applied with oval ink blending brushes on white cardstock. I then die cut three circles using Sizzix circle dies. I felt that the circles of the waves didn't pop enough off the white card panel so I added some blue mats, cut with My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX dies. I adhered the circles of waves to the blue mats. I adhered the two fish, each to two of the circles. For the sentiment, I used Sunny Studio's Oceans of Joy stamp set, stamped on blue cardstock and trimmed to a double fishtail banner. I adhered it to the center circle to complete the panel, which was then adhered to a white slimline card base.

We'd love for you to be inspired by our sketch and join us.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #218

We have a great challenge starting today at Addicted to CAS.

Don't know about you, but I love one layer cards. Here's my card

I started my one layer card by stamping the image using Stampin' Up's Just Believe stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink. To add some color, I masked off a horizontal area, roughly 1 3/4" wide with post-it tape. I added color with distress inks (picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard seed) applied with oval blender brushes. I carefully removed the post-it tape. I added the sentiment from Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

We'd love to see your one layer creations.

Perfectly CAS ~ Challenge #26

We have a new challenge at Perfectly CAS. I love Perfectly CAS - clean and simple is definitely my style. All the white space calms me, as does playing with paper. Our challenge is

Here's my GOLD card

For this card, I heat embossed on vellum with gold embossing powder and stamps using Simon Says STAMP's Wild Beauty stamp set. I trimmed the vellum to 1.75" x 4.25". I also heat embossed with gold embossing powder, the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set on a white A2 card base. I adhered the vellum with two strips of 1/8' double sided tape (done along the edge horizontally). I covered the double sided tape with thin strips of gold cardstock to complete the card.

We'd love to see your GOLD creations. Please remember to cover no more than one-third of the card because we are, after all, Perfectly CAS.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #427

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! For the next fortnight, our challenge is

Here's my one layer Christmas card

I love using layering stencils. For this card, I used PinkFresh Studio's Holiday Botanical Background stencils, which contains four layering stencils. The layering stencils help to add one specific color at a time. I used distress inks - mowed lawn, evergreen bough, pine needles, fired brick, applied with oval ink blending brushes on a white A2 card base. For the sentiment, I used Catherine Pooler Design's Merry and Bright stamp set which was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

We'd love to see your Christmas creations. Why not get a head start on this year's Christmas cards.

Die Cut Divas ~ April Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends! We have a new challenge at Die Cut Divas. This month, our challenge is a tic-tac-toe game.

Our sponsor this month is Joy Clair Designs. They sell traditional stamps, as well as digital stamps, dies, stencils and other crafty supplies. They will be giving our winner - three digital stamps.

For my tic-tac-toe, I chose the diagonal from bottom left to top right - flowers, friendship, color red. Here is my card

For my card, I started with Joy Clair's Always in Style Digital Stamps, which I sized and printed with my inkjet printer on white cardstock. I added color with Copic markers R29 and R59. I was interested in keeping the card black, white and red. I die cut the panel with a My Favorite Things Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics die. I matted the focal panel with black. I found some gray on black patterned paper cut to 2.75" x 4.25" to place behind the focal panel. For the sentiment, I used Joy Clair's Sweet Friends Digital Stamps, printed onto white cardstock, trimmed and matted with black. I adhered all the elements onto a white A2 card base to complete the card.

How will you play our "tic-tac-toe" game?

Happy Little Stampers ~ April Stencil Challenge

We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge

I love playing with stencils. They are affordable and often make it look like I have some artistic skill when actually I just did some ink blending. An artistic someone did all the hard work. Here's my card

Not to brag but doesn't it look like I have some artistic skill? I don't! I used PinkFresh Studio's Seamless Floral Panel layered stencils. For each of the layers, I added color with distress inks (tumbled glass, peacock feathers, evergreen bough, twisted citron, mowed lawn) and oval ink blending brushes on a white A2 panel. I trimmed the panel slightly and matted on a light blue A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I used a sentiment die cut from PinkFresh Studio's Foiled Sentiments. For a bit more shine, I added three sequins to the card panel.

We'd love to see your stencil cards.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #550

It's Tuesday and time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Our challenge sketch is

Here's my card

For my card, I used a mirror-image of the sketch. To make this card, I made a mask using a Waffle Flower's A2 Layers die and a post-it note. I applied the mask in the upper left corner and added color with oval ink blending brushes and distress inks - salty ocean, peacock feathers, mowed lawn. I carefully removed the mask and stamped the silhouette using Gina K Designs' Friendly Silhouettes stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I like how it looked when parts of the stamped image extend beyond the inked rectangle. For the sentiment on black, I heat embossed with white embossing powder on black, the sentiment from the same stamp set. I then die cut the sentiment using a My Favorite Things Skinny Strips die. I also stamped the word "enjoy" using Paper Smooches Birthday Sampler stamp set on a scrap of light blue cardstock. I then die cut it using a Sizzix circle die. I adhered both sentiment elements to the card panel, which I then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #467

It's Monday and time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Our sketch for this challenge is

Here's my card

Do you know about PinkFresh Studio's washi tape? It comes on a 4" wide roll with a matching die to cut out the "images". For my card, I used PinkFresh Studio's In the Meadow washi tape and matching die to die cut the various flowers, branches and leaves. I used some of the leaves, branches and a flower to adorn the white panel, cut to 2.5" x 4.25". I stamped the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I arranged the beautiful PinkFresh die cuts around the white panel. I chose a medium gray A2 panel for the background and found a scrap of polka dot paper for the horizontal stripe. I adhered everything and adhered it to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Happy Little Stampers ~ April Christmas Challenge

Christmas in April? Sure, why not? Right? We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I die cut an A2 white card panel with Simon Says STAMP's Maryanne Snowflake (2) and Alexis Snowflake dies. I also heat embossed the sentiment with CASual Friday's Snowy Sayings stamp set and silver embossing powder. I trimmed the white panel slightly. Behind the white panel, I adhered a panel of silver glitter (to comply with the optional theme of glitter) and adhered everything to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Here's a close-up

Hope you'll join us this month with your own Christmas creations with or maybe without glitter.

Happy Little Stampers ~ April CAS Challenge

Who is ready for a new clean and simple challenge at Happy Little Stampers? Me - waving my hand emphatically (LOL!).

Here's my card

I love Hawaii and that is what I think of when I think of "tropical". I love the sun and sand but also the beautiful greenery and fragrant flowers. For my card, I used Sunny Studio's Radiant Plumeria stamp set. It's a layering stamp set so I had to dig through my inks to find several shades of green for the leaves and various pinks and purples and gold. I used Simon Says STAMP's Midnight Green, Green Leaf, Fern inks; Hero Arts Passion Flower, Lemon Yellow, Butter Bar, Orchid, Grape Juice, Moss, Green Hills, Ultra Pink, Bubblegum inks. I fussy cut the images and adhered them on a white A2 card base. I popped up the pink flower with dimensionals for a bit of depth. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Of course, once I completed the card, I realized that I also have the matching Sunny Studio Radiant Plumeria die set - oops! Going to store them together from now on. LOL.

We'd love for you to join us for our TROPICAL clean and simple challenge.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #217

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS.

Here's my card

I just received this "old" Noah's Ark stamp set by Jane's Doodles.  It's so stinkin' cute. I just had to use it for our ANIMAL's challenge. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a white A2 card panel. I added color with Copic markers - B95, BV25, C2, C3, E04, E25, E33, E43, E47, E71, E93, Y15. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set also with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I trimmed the panel down slightly and matted with black cardstock before adhering it to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your ANIMAL-isnpired cards.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ April Challenge

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS. This month, our challenge is

Here's my card that I hope might inspire you.

For my card, I started with an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. Since, I knew I was going to use some water, I couldn't use regular cardstock. I smooshed some salty ocean, mermaid lagoon and wilted violet onto a circular acrylic block. I spritzed it a few times and stamped it onto the 96 lb bristol. To introduce some pattern to the circle, I reached for STAMPlorations ARTplorations Tribal Weave stencil. I used a bit of washi tape to hold it in place over the circle. I then spritzed some water through the stencil. I carefully removed the stencil and picked up any drops of water with some paper towel. This resulted in a nice pattern over the circle. I didn't want to cover too much of the circle. I adhered a sticker from STAMPlorations Inspirational #3 - Clear Stickers on a strip of vellum (because frankly, I kind of struggle putting the stickers on straight and they are really unforgiving - LOL!) I adhered the vellum on the lower part of the circle. I adhered the A2 bristol panel onto a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your clean and simple card and optionally blue and purple too!
