Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge June 2022

WOW - June already? Crazy! It's been so cool here in the Pacific Northwest, it still feels like April. Hoping that the heat doesn't come with a vengeance this summer! It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

Here's my card

For this card, I started with an A2 sized panel of 96 lb bristol. I added color with a water brush and distress inks (peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, mustard seed, ripe persimmon, picked raspberry). I started by wetting the bristol panel with clean water. Next, I smooshed some ink on some acetate and picked up the color with the water brush and applied it randomly to the bristol panel. I kept adding color until I was happy with the result. I think that the panel looks best when there is still a bit of white space. I trimmed the panel down to 2 1/8" x 4 1/8" and matted with black cardstock. I adhered the panel to a light blue A2 panel. I stamped the sentiment using Gina K Designs Friendly Silhouettes stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink to complete the card.

We'd love to see your watercolour card - doesn't have to actually involve painting with watercolour paints, rather pretty much anything that uses water.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #558

It's time - time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch for the next fortnight.

Optional: Pattern Mixing
Here's my card

For this card, I used a stamp set that we received as participants of Crop and Create Delivered Cardmaking, held October 1-3, 2021. It's SCT (Scrapbook and Cards Today) Change the World stamp and matching die. I heat embossed with white embossing powder the gorgeous stamp. I then added color with distress inks (picked raspberry, cracked pistachio, mustard seed) and Concord & 9th's Aqua Sky, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then die cut the image. I checked my collection of patterned papers for similar colors and cut them to match the sketch. I guess I did a bit of pattern mixing as I used a variety of patterned papers. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental with Concord & 9th's Dove ink, stamped on a scrap of bold pink cardstock, cut to a fishtail banner.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Die Cut Divas ~ Last Day of Our May Challenge

It's seems a bit crazy to think that the month of May is coming to a close. I look back on this month, and I can't say that I've accomplished much. I did participate in a virtual card event and did attend my first in person (since the end of 2019) crafty event this month. I guess that's something!

Our theme for May is ANYTHING GOES

Our sponsor this month is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps who will be awarding our winner a $20 gift code. The prize is restricted to US and Canadian participants, only.

Here's my card. I've dusted off some older CAS-ual Fridays products and used them on my card.

I started with an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol and added a thin layer of clean water to it with a paint brush. I then added color with distress inks (peacock feathers, wilted violet, picked raspberry, mustard seed, ripe persimmon) using a water brush. When the ink came into contact with the wet bristol, the color "moved" around. When the panel was dry, I die cut it with a Waffle Flower's A2 Layers die. I matted with black cardstock die cut with a Waffle Flower Additional A2 Layer die. The additional dies, fit between the original Layers dies. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base. I stamped the sentiment using CAS-ual Friday's Love Notes stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. To complete the card, I added a die cut cut using CAS-ual Friday's Heart Note Fri-dies and covered the die cut with clear Wink Of Stella for a bit of shimmer. Here's a close-up

There is still a bit of time for you to join us this month. Would love to see your work in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #475

It's the start of another week. Grateful that I didn't get called into work today. It was nice to spend a lazy day at home. That being said, it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here's my take on this sketch

I started with five different colors of cardstock and cut 0.75" strips. I arranged the strips and then glued them to an A2 panel size of printer paper. I adhered the strips so the edges extended beyond the A2 panel and then cut the stripes down to size. I trimmed the panel down slightly so that when glued to a natural A2 panel, there was a small mat. For the sentiment strip, I heat embossed with white embossing powder the word "Birthday" using Honey Bee Stamps' You're a Classic stamp set on a 1.25" wide strip of the blue cardstock. For the balloon, I used a die from Concord & 9th's Pop-Up Par-tay Dies and purple cardstock. I stuck a short piece of silver cord behind the balloon for the balloon string.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #221

We have a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. For the next fortnight, our challenge will be

Here's my card

For my card, I used some supplies that I received when I participated in Crop & Create Delivered Cardmaking - October 1 - 3, 2021. I used The Stamp Market's A Bit of Everything Stamp set, matching dies and cardstock to create this card. I die cut the heart, which includes the die cut "thank you" letters as well as the thin heart frame out of white cardstock. I stamped the "so very much" using the stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I cut thin strips (roughly 1/8")  from the cardstock and adhered them on the backside of the die cut heart, so that the colorful stripes show through. I arranged the colorful heart and the heart outline onto a white A2 card panel and adhered the pieces. I trimmed the panel down slightly so that I could mat with a pink A2 card panel before adhering to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our "stripes" code word.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #430

Hello Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! For the next fortnight, our challenge will be

Here's my card

For my card, I used supplies that I received when I participated in the Crop & Create Delivered Cardmaking event, held March 25-27, 2022. Have you tried any of the virtual events - PinkFresh? Concord & 9th? Scrapbook and Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered? Brutus Monroe? I have. They are wonderful. You receive a package of crafting goodies, usually unreleased and occasionally exclusive product and then have a series of incredible virtual classes. Yes, they can be pricey. However, if I were to attend if these events were held in person, I'd have to fly and book a hotel room. Those costs add up too. I think, during the pandemic, virtual events were awesome. I hope that virtual events continue to happen, even as the world opens up to give those, who live, not so close to the venues, the opportunity to participate. OK, off my soap box now! Back to my card!

For my card, I used PinkFresh Studio's Simplest Gestures stamp set, stencils (4 layering stencils), and die. I stamped the image with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. I added color with the layering stencils and distress inks (tumbled glass, salty ocean, blueprint sketch), applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then die cut the image with the matching die. I adhered it to a panel, which was natural - this was similar to the card that Laura Bassen showed us during the event. For the sentiment, I again used one of the layering stencils with distress inks (carved pumpkin, ripe persimmon) applied with oval ink blending brushes. Once ink blending, I die cut the sentiment and popped it up with dimensionals. I adhered the natural panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your die cut &/or stencil cards in our gallery.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #556

Hello Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. For the next fortnight, the challenge will be

Here's my card

I think that it's quite obvious, that I did not use the sketch portion of our challenge, but rather the technique portion of our challenge - die cuts/cutting. For my card, I used Concord and 9th's Grateful Blooms stamp set and die set, which I received as part of Crop and Create Delivered Cardmaking Event - October 1-3, 2021. Using the dies, I used three colors of cardstock (Concord and 9th's Honeysuckle, Sprout, Aqua Sky) and white, carefully collecting all the little pieces. I die cut the white piece twice and adhered the two pieces together and then to a light blue A2 card panel. I then adhered and inset all the little pieces using a glue pen. Thankfully, I hadn't lost any pieces. For the sentiment, I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder on some honeysuckle cardstock. I die cut it with the matching die. I adhered the panel to a white card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your creation in our gallery - will you choose the sketch or the technique or both?

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #473

It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is our sketch which we hope will inspire you.

Here's my card

I made a one layer card. I started with a white A2 card base, Paper Smooches Essential stencil and my 7x7 Wendy Vecchi Make Art STAY-tion. The Make Art STAY-tion is a great tool - a metal plate with grids and magnets to hold the paper and stencil in place. I added color using distress inks (wilted violet, picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn, salty ocean) applied with oval ink blending brushes, in rainbow color order. For the sentiment, I used Lawn Fawn's Color My World, Gina K Designs inks (bubblegum pink, wild lilac, sweet mango) and my MISTI.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Perfectly CAS ~ Challenge #27 - May 2022

Hello Crafty Friends! We have a new challenge at Perfectly CAS. Our challenge is

Here's my card

When I thought about the word "DISTRESS", I initially thought about a grunge look. However, that's difficult to do and keep the card, clean and simple. I feel distress, in the grunge world is opposite to clean and simple. So then, I thought about using distress inks. I definitely have a collection of those! LOL! I started by masking off a 1.5" band on a white A2 card panel. I added distress inks with oval ink blending brushes. I used picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, salty ocean and added the colors in rainbow order. I carefully removed the mask and let the distress inks dry overnight. I then heat embossed the beautiful image using Gina K Designs' Antique Roses stamp set with gold embossing powder. I also heat embossed the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Lot of Thanks stamp set, also with gold embossing powder. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see how you are inspired by the "DISTRESS" word. Please remember to keep you card clean and simple and cover no more than one-third of the card.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #220

Feeling crafty? We have a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. It's my turn to be hostess, so I chose

I have so many floral stamps, stencils and embossing folders. I was difficult to choose what to do. In the end, I chose PinkFresh Studios layering stencils. Here's my card

For my card, I used PinkFresh Studio's Daisy Slimline Frame Stencils and distress inks (kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry, evergreen bough, pine needle, dried marigold, carved pumpkin) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then die cut the panel using the matching die, PinkFresh Studio's Daisy Slimline Frame die. I adhered it to a light gray panel. For the sentiment, I die cut the celebrate word using PinkFresh Studio's Scripted Greetings dies from a scrap of white cardstock. I added a bit of color using the ink left on my pink oval ink blending brush. I found it easiest to put the die cut back into the scrap of white cardstock to add the color. Sometimes, if you're just using the die cut, it may curl or bend or move when you're ink blending. I find that it's somewhat protected by the piece you die cut from when added color. I adhered the sentiment in the center of the panel and added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle. Here's a close-up

I adhered the panel to a white slimline card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your clean and simple "flower" projects in our gallery.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #429

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! Our challenge will be

For my "any occasion", I chose Mother's Day for my card.

For my card, I stamped using Simon Says STAMPS' Bouquet of Thanks on a white A2 card panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added some color with Copic markers - R22, Y15, Y38, YG63. I trimmed the panel slightly so that I could mat with a black A2 panel. For the sentiment, I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a scrap of red cardstock, using Simon Says STAMP's Beautiful Mothers stamp set and then covered it with clear embossing powder, which was heat set. I trimmed the sentiment down and adhered it over the stems of the flowers. I adhered the completed panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your "any occasion" card in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ May Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends! We have a new challenge at Die Cut Divas

Our theme for May is ANYTHING GOES

Our sponsor this month is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps who will be awarding our winner a $20 gift code. The prize is restricted to US and Canadian participants, only.

Here's my card

For the background of my card, I used an old CAS-ual Fridays Stamps stamp set called Bold Wishes. I stamped it three times, each time with a different ink color and making use of my MISTI. I put a white A2 card panel flush with the top right corner and placed the stamp, so that it would be in the lowest position on my panel. I stamped with Gina K Designs Blue Raspberry ink. I then moved the card panel down 1" and cleaned off the stamp without removing it from the MISTI. I then stamped with Gina K Designs Turquoise Sea ink. Next, I moved the card down another 1" and cleaned off the stamp again without removing it from the MISTI. Finally, I stamped a third time, this time with Gina K Designs Lucky Clover ink. To complete the background, I then trimmed all the edges of the inked panel slightly to mat with a teal A2 cardstock panel. For the tag, I heat embossed with silver embossing powder and the same stamp set on some vellum. I die cut the vellum with an old CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Funky Square die. I added some silver cord to the tag and adhered the tag to the background to complete my card.

We'd love to see your "ANYTHING GOES" creations. Please remember to use a die cut because we are Die Cut Divas!

Happy Little Stampers ~ May Stencil Challenge

Hoping that May indeed does bring May Flowers because I'm tired of the April Showers! LOL! It's time for a new monthly challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.

Here's my card

To start my card, I made a mask of the peeking little monster using A Colorful Life Designs' Little Peepers stencil, by stenciling it on a post-it note and carefully fussy cutting the image out. I then started with a white A2 card panel, My Favorite Things' Rectangle Extraordinaire Stencil and STAMPlorations Dots All Over stencil all adhered together with some washi tape. I positioned the post-it note mask along the bottom and to the right. I added color in the center of the panel with distress inks (spun sugar, tumbled glass and shaded lilac) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I carefully removed the Dots All Over stencil and the mask, and placed the Little Peepers stencil over the previously masked area. I added color with lucky clover distress ink and an oval ink blending brush. Monsters are green, right? Isn't it adorable? For the sentiment, I used WPlus9's Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlias stamp set and Versafine Onyx black ink. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your stenciled creations. Won't you join us?

Happy Little Stampers ~ May Christmas Challenge

It's time for another challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge. This month, our challenge is

When I saw the optional theme of HOUSE, I just knew what stamp set to use - Polkadoodles Christmas Scene stamp set. Here's my card

I stamped the little collection of houses and the Christmas word, near the bottom of a white A2 card base with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - B02, C2, E71, R36, RV23, Y15, Y38, YG06. I wanted my little grouping of houses to be bright colored and cheery. I used a silver gel pen, to thicken some of the letters of the Christmas word for a bit of shine. I heat embossed the Merry word using Simon Says STAMP's Chunky Christmas stamp set and silver embossing powder on black cardstock. I trimmed the black panel down and adhered it just above the Christmas word to complete my card.

We'd love for you to join us with your Christmas card - with the optional theme of house.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #554

It's Tuesday, so you know what that means - time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. For the next fortnight, here's our sketch to inspire you

Optional Theme: Floral

Here's my card. I didn't include the optional theme of floral on my card.

Several weeks ago, I participated in the Crop & Create Delivered March 2022 event. One of the classes was given by Taylored Expressions. As part of our class, we received Taylored Expressions Create in Quads Layering Hexagon stencils. I used the stencils with distress inks (bundled sage, peeled paint, evergreen bough, chipped sapphire) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I trimmed one of the panels to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and adhered it to a royal blue A2 card panel. I heat embossed with gold embossing powder the sentiment, using Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments stamp set on some green cardstock, which I trimmed to a fish tail banner. For the little detail on the left, I used Simon Says STAMP's Eucalyptus Leaves die and some gold cardstock. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #471

It's Monday here so it must be time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is our sketch which I hope will inspire you

Here's my card

For my card, I started with My Mind's Eye's Notable 6x6 paper pack and pulled out one floral paper and four, sort of monochromatic papers. I die cut the floral with a Sizzix circle die and cut the other papers according to the sketch. For the sentiment, I chose a one-line sentiment and used Clearly Besotted's  A Little Sentimental stamp set with white embossing powder on a scrap of kraft cardstock. I adhered all the pieces to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Happy Little Stampers ~ May CAS Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ CAS Challenge. This month, our challenge is

When I saw this month's challenge of "BLEND", I thought of using blending brushes and distress inks. Here's my card

In the past, I would use post-it tape to mask off a card panel. In this case, I used one of Simon Says STAMP's A2 masks - there are 4 different sizes in the package. I adhered it with some washi tape to keep it from shifting. I gently added some color with distress inks (spun sugar, shaded lilac, tumbled glass, cracked pistachio) applied with oval blending brushes. For the sentiment, I die cut using PinkFresh Studio's Scripted Greetings dies. I added some color to the word die cut using some of the leftover ink on the blending brushes. I adhered the shadow and word to the ink blended area. I felt that the card needed something more, so I added a few clean and colorless gems to the blended area. Here's a close-up.

I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by the word "BLEND" this month.
