Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #656

We have a new sketch at Try A Sketch On Tuesday which we hope will inspire you to create with us.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with the Memory Box Darling Poppies die and some pretty floral patterned paper from a 6x6 pad. I also picked a tone-on-tone patterned paper from the same pack, which I cut to A2 size for my background. I die cut the poppies with a medium gray cardstock and the floral paper. I used the medium gray as the outline and inlaid the floral paper die cut pieces and glued them in place on the background paper. I cut strips from the same floral paper of varying widths and arranged them on the right. I cut strips of a light violet cardstock to place between the floral paper strips. I glued those in place. For the butterflies, I used a Hero Arts stamp and die set I received as part of Crop & Create Delivered - March 2023. I stamped the butterflies with Concord & 9's Dove ink and colored them in with a Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker, labelled bright yellow. I die cut the butterflies and glued them in place. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set and the same Concord & 9's Dove ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your takes on our sketch in our gallery.

  1. Sue, love your card and your unique interpretation of the sketch and using the patterned paper on the one side and piecing them into your die cut floral.

  2. Sue, how clever to use your pattern paper as the inlay for the floral die cuts! You have inspired me to take another look at my stash of dies in a whole new way!! -Donna
