Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

Hi Friends! It's a new month and time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge. Our challenge each month is "Anything Goes"!

Sometimes, having no "code word" nor theme is a good thing. Having an "Anything Goes" challenge gives me the freedom to work on whatever I feel like doing - as long as it involves "watercolouring" though! Here's my card

After I made this card, I realized that I could make a similar card for the challenge here. So, here it is. I used Stampin' Up's Just Believe stamp set with my MISTI. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (Light Green, Orange, Pink) to ink up the stamp and spritzed lightly with water before closing the "door" of the MISTI to stamp onto 96 lb bristol. I did each colour separately. I find that the trick is not to spritz too much water as the colours will bleed into each other. I love the look. I trimmed the panel and matted with dark pink. I adhered the panel to a light pink A2 panel. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches' Salutations stamp set.

We'd love to see your watercolour creations!

Die Cut Divas ~ End of our March Challenge

It's the end of March - already? Time sure flies by. It's the end of our March challenge where our theme is

    SLIMLINE CARDS

Our sponsor this month is Sunny Studio Stamps who will be giving our winner a $15 gift card for Sunny Studio Stamps.

Here's my card

I have to say that I'm still learning to make slimline cards. I am definitely more comfortable with the A2 sized cards. For this card, I started with a light teal panel that measured 8.5" x 3.5". I stamped multiple palm trees using Sunny Studio's Surfing Santa stamp and Hero Arts Soft Brown ink. I then stamped Santa and his surf board using the same stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers in Christmas colours - E50, G05, R29, W2. I die cut them using Sunny Studio's Surfing Santa dies

There are a few hours left for you to join us at Die Cut Divas

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #402

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! Our challenge is

Yeah! I love getting Christmas cards made before the crazy, last minute scramble! Here's my card

For my card, I stamped the great foliage using Avery Elle's Merry Flowers stamp set using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added color with distress ink (hickory smoke, fired brick, worn lipstick, peeled paint, mowed lawn, fossilized amber), a paint brush and some water. I trimmed the panel and matted with black. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes.

We'd love to see your Christmas cards!

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #500

What an accomplishment! Challenge #500 here at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here is our sketch for this challenge.

Optional Theme: Pets

Here's my card

I'm definitely a cat person. However, I saw the super cute Avery Elle Dog-Gone stamp set and couldn't resist it. I stamped the puppy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers (C5, E21, E25, E37, R29). I trimmed the panel down to 2 3/8" x 2 5/8" and matted with kraft cardstock. For the horizontal strip, I again used kraft cardstock and stamped the paw prints using an old Recollections Paw Print and Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink. I found some tone on tone beige paper for the background. For the sentiment, I used the same stamp set, a strip of dark brown cardstock and gold embossing powder.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Reminder - Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge# 515

Hi! I'm here to remind you of the current challenge at Cupcake Inspirations, where this challenge is a color challenge.

I worked for the Engineering Department in a municipality. I loved learning about water and sewer installation and really loved all the "cool" equipment they used. When I saw the stamp set, by Newton's Nook - Farming Fun, I just knew that I had to add it to my collection. I stamped this backhoe onto a white A2 card panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - 100, C5, E47, Y15, Y17. For the sentiment, I stamped it with Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink. So, there you have it, a one layer card!

We'd love for you to join us.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge # 194

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. For the next two weeks, our challenge is

I often seem to be looking for birthday cards, so I'm glad to see this code word! Here's my card

For my card, I used Stampin' Up's Just Believe stamp set. I used one of my favorite techniques for this card. I used my MISTI and inked up specific areas of the stamp with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (Bright Yellow, Light Carmine, May Green) and spritzed lightly with water before stamping onto 96 lb bristol. I feel this technique gives the illusion of watercoloring without using a brush. I trimmed the panel down and matted with black. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches' Salutations stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

We'd love to see your "birthday" inspired cards. Please remember to keep them clean and simple!

2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

So, as per usual, I didn't plan to have a card ready for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

However, I had to make a couple of thank you cards for co-workers who helped me out by "posing" for photos for a newsletter for my friend's restaurant. Her restaurant is a tea house, specializing in High Tea. Here are the cards I made.

I stamped the tea pot and tea cup using Clearly Besotted's My Cup of Tea stamp set onto patterned paper. I used the matching dies to cut out the tea pot and tea cup. To add a bit of interest, I embossed some white cardstock with Cricut Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots and matted with some colored cardstock. The sentiment is stamped using Ink Blot Shop's Botanical Borders stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Thanks for stopping by (I think I made it in time to add to the blog hop!)

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #413

It's Monday (at least for a few more hours, here on the West Coast) so it must be time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is this week's sketch

While I loved the idea of flowers on the top and bottom, I chose to go a different direction. Here's my card

For this one layer card, I started with STAMPlorations ARTplorations Prim Triangles stencil. I masked the stencil so that the top and bottom rows were isolated. I then added color with an ink blending tool and mustard seed, spiced marmalade and picked raspberry distress inks randomly over the stencil. I removed the stencil and stamped this large sentiment from Simon Says STAMP's Big Scripty Greetings with ink from Colorbox Paintbox Classic Pigment inkpad - Bright. I love the bright colors of my card and hope it brings good wishes to it's recipient.

We'd love to see how you interpret this week's sketch.

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #515A

It's time for a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. For the next two weeks, our challenge is a color inspiration - yellow, brown, black.

Here's my card

When I think of yellow and brown, I think of sunflowers. However, I don't own a sunflower stamp - shocking, isn't it! So, instead, I used STAMPlorations' Helenium Large which I stamped onto watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added color using Copic markers - E25, Y17. I do realize that when using Copic markers, I should have used Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I was thinking that I wouldn't mind the black ink "bleeding" a bit or maybe I totally forgot that I was intending to watercolor this flower! Anyway, I like the finished product. To complete the card, I cut a black panel to mat the original panel and decided almost at the last minute, to set it askew. For the sentiment, I stamped it using Mint Owl Studio Banner Sentiments and die cut it using Memory Box's Pastry Labels. I used some black embroidery floss to "hang" the label. I placed everything on a kraft A2 card panel.

We'd love to see what yellow, brown and black creations you come up with.

Very happy to represent STAMPlorations at this year's Coffee Lovers Spring/Summer Blog Hop

Here's my card

For my one layer card, I stamped the sentiment using STAMPlorations' With Coffee ~ Typografia Coffee with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a white A2 card panel. I then stamped the cups using STAMPlorations' Coffee Petites around the sentiment. To introduce a bit of color, I used a 1" circle punch and some post-it notes to make masks. I used distress inks (vintage photo, antique linen, frayed burlap) with ink blending tools to add the spots.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #401

I'm here today with a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!

For a "Make Your Mark" challenge, we'd like you to use pens, markers, paints, inks, pencils, etc. - basically anything that Makes Your Mark!

Here's my card

For my one layer card, I used Gina K Designs' A Beautiful World Stamp set and the segments from the Color Box Paintbox Classic Pigment Ink Pad - Bright. I placed the stamp onto my MISTI and inked it up with three adjacent segments of the pigment ink pad. I stamped onto a white A2 card base. For the sentiment, I used Poppy Stamps Peony Stems and Blossoms and one of the same segments of the pigment ink pad that I used for the main image.

We'd love for you to join us. This challenge will be open for almost 2 weeks.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #498

We have a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here is the sketch for our challenge which lasts almost two weeks.

When I saw this sketch, I thought of either a sunrise or sunset. So, here's my card

I inked up some white cardstock with distress inks (wild honey, ripe persimmon, fired brick and dusty concord) with an ink blending tool. I then used a Sizzix circle die to die cut the inked sunset. I added the silhouettes of the grass and plant material using Technique Tuesday's Wildflowers stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. For the sentiment, I heat embossed with gold embossing powder the sentiment from Poppy Stamps Peony Stems and Blossoms on a strip of black cardstock. I added the line across with a gold gel pen and a ruler. I decided to go with a bold background panel to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this challenge's sketch.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ March Reminder

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Is it just me, or is this month flying by? It's already mid-month and time for a reminder of the current challenge at STAMPlorations CAS

As with my card at the beginning of March, I did not incorporate the optional color twist onto my card. I am craving beautiful Spring colours. Here's my card

I started with a strip of white cardstock about 1.5" x 5.5" and added color with distress inks (fossilized amber, ripe persimmon, candied apple) with an ink blending tool. I then stamped the cameras using STAMPlorations' Hello You stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adhered the strip to some black cardstock, as a mat. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, again using Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a white A2 card base. Assured that my sentiment was straight (I've been having a bit of a challenge with that lately), I adhered the inked strip to complete the card.

We'd love for you to join our challenge. If you'd like to check out all of the gorgeous STAMPlorations products, you can do that here. Also, please use my 20% off your purchase code STAMPGIRLSUE

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Revisiting Challenge #514

We're halfway through our current challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. Our challenge is

I most definitely am liking the theme of our current challenge. Here's my card

I started by stamping the image using Newton's Nook's Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers (B02 C2, C5, G05, R11, R35). I trimmed the panel to 2.75" x 3.75" and matted with a light blue. For the sentiment, I used the same stamp set and Hero Arts Summer Sky ink. I just noticed that my two cards for this challenge use the same sentiment wording from two different stamp sets.

There is still time to join our cat themed challenge.

Perfectly CAS ~ March Challenge

I love a good clean and simple card. I find it so relaxing and calming. We have a new challenge at Perfectly CAS to help me find some peace in this crazy world we live in. Our March challenge is

Here's my card

For my card, I punched circles using punches - Stampin Up's 1.25" and .75" and EK Success' .5" and 1" from post-it notes that I used as masks. I added distress ink (Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves) with ink blending tools using the masks to the lower portion of a white A2 card base. For the sentiment, I looked around my stash for one that would fit in one of the circles. I ended up using Your Next Stamp's Mini Monkey stamp and Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. I decided to round the bottom corners using We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to complete this one layer card.

We'd love for you to join us this month. Please remember to only cover up to one-third of your card. That's why, we're Perfectly CAS!

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge # 193

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS

This month, our code word is SHAPES. That could mean the shape of the card - circle, square; shapes on the card - triangles, hexagons; and any other idea where one could see "shapes" on your creation. Here's my card

For my card, I dusted off my Stampin' Up Triangle Punch. True confession, I had never used it before! I picked up my Christine Adolph Boho 6x6 paper pad and chose some patterned papers and punched out triangles. I arranged them toward the bottom of the card and adhered them, when I like the design. Using a scrap of light gray cardstock, I stamped the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's Sentiment Type stamp set and Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. I cut the scrap into a double fishtail banner.

We'd love to see your "shape" creations. The challenge runs for 2 weeks.

Die Cut Divas ~ March Challenge

Hi! There's a new challenge at Die Cut Divas. This month, we are sponsored by Sunny Studio Stamps who will be giving our winner a $15 gift card for Sunny Studio Stamps.

Our challenge this month, is SLIMLINE CARDS

Here's my card

I started by randomly stamping some hammers and nails using Sunny Studio Stamps' Tool Time stamp set with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink on a white 3.5" x 8.5" panel. I then added some subtle colors with distress inks (antique linen, stormy sky, old paper) applied with an ink blending tool. I then used the Simon Says STAMP Slimline Scallop Frame die. For the central rectangle, I trimmed it slightly so that a there would be a thin frame of the background showing. I chose a gray slimline sized background. For the sentiment, I stamped onto a scrap strip of white cardstock using Hero Arts Soft Granite and Pale Tomato ink. I added some matching subtle color using the same distress inks. To make it stand out from the inked panel, I matted with the same gray cardstock and the background.

We'd love to see your slimline cards.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge ~ Challenge #411

It's Monday and time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's this week's sketch

Here's my card. I turned it into a gate fold card.

I started by die cutting some bright pink cardstock with Simon Says STAMP's Heart of Roses die. For the background, I fussy cut the red heart to go behind the Heart of Roses die cut. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Handwritten Sentiments stamped on a scrap of white cardstock which I trimmed into a double fishtail banner. I found some light pink patterned paper for the background of the front of the gate fold card.

We'd love to see what you create using our sketch as inspiration.

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Feeling quite honoured to be able to share with you, one of the March release of new stamps at STAMPlorations

I worked with the new STAMPlorations' Super Hero stamp set. Here's my card. I was going for a comic book vibe.

I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the words and images onto white cardstock. I added color using Copic markers - B29, E25, E50, R46, Y17. I fussy cut the super hero, the lightning bolt and the eight-pointed star and trimmed around the words. I stamped the silhouette of the city onto red cardstock. I started with a black A2 card panel. I cut pieces of yellow, red and blue cardstock to fit the panel, starting with the red stamped rectangle at 1 7/8" x 2 7/8".

This card was so fun to make. Not sure who I'll give this card to as I am surrounded by a lot of heroes.

For all you Super Heroes, there are a few prizes. Two winners will be randomly selected from those who comment on the STAMPlorations blog, the other designers participating in this release and here, on my blog. One person will win a $25 prize code and one person will win their choice of one of the new stamp releases. You'll need to leave your comment by March 17th and the winner will be announced on the STAMPlorations blog on March 19th.

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #514

Hello Friends! It's time for a new and "purr-fect" challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.

I'm definitely a cat-person! Frankly, I'm afraid of most dogs and many are much too noisy for me. Here's my card

Recently, I was looking through a box of random stamps and came across the Stampendous Cat Face wooden block stamp. When I saw the theme of this challenge, I actually remembered the stamp and where it was (pats self on back, because this doesn't regularly occur). I randomly stamped the cat face using Hero Arts inks - butter bar, green hills, pale tomato, cornflower. I trimmed the panel to 2.25" x 4.25". I matted with blue cardstock. For the sentiment, I used Technique Tuesday's Kyle the Cool Cat stamp set with Hero Arts cornflower ink. I adhered the panel to the white A2 card panel to complete the card.

We'd love to see your cat-inspired creations.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge. Our challenge is always

Here's my card

For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel and STAMPlorations ARTplorations Art Flowers 1 stencil. I added color with ink daubers and seedless preserves and peeled paint distress inks. To help keep the colors from mixing, I used some scraps of printer paper to contain the colors. When I finished the panel, I didn't really want to cover it up with a sentiment or sentiment strip. So, I heat embossed using silver embossing powder and a sentiment from Paper Smooches' Salutations stamp set onto a strip of vellum. Here's a close up.

I trimmed the white A2 card panel down a bit and matted with purple cardstock.

We'd love to see your work with stencils.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge

WOW! It's already March? It's so nice that the days are getting longer and some early Spring bulbs are making their appearance. It's time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge

For my card, I didn't add the Optional Twist of Angels. Here's my card

Yes, I know. I used this same stamp set last month here. I just love this little collection of trees. For this month, I used the Paper Smooches Warm Hearts stamp set and stamped the trees onto a light teal A2 card panel. I also stamped the trees onto scraps of green patterned paper. I fussy cut the patterned paper trees and adhered them in place onto the light teal panel. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Winter Sentiments stamp set, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. For a bit of shine, I also stamped the heart onto red cardstock, fussy cut it and applied glossy accents to it. When the glossy accents were dry, I adhered it in place.

We'd love for you to join us this month.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #400

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!

For my card, I chose to only use a stencil. So, that option is open to you too - die cuts &/or stencils.

For this card, I started with a white A2 panel and STAMPlorations ARTplorations Bamboo slimline stencil. I added color with ink daubers and distress inks (crushed olive and forest moss). I trimmed the panel slightly to add an A2 olive panel. For the sentiment, I used a scrap of the same olive color and stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Let's Roll stamp set. In case you don't know, "arigato" means thank you in Japanese.

We'd love to have you join us for our die cuts &/or stencil challenge.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #496

Hi Friends

It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch

Optional: Bold & Bright

Here's my card

For my card, I found some pretty patterned papers that coordinated, from my stash for the background. For the circle element, I die cut a red heart using a Memory Box Cherub Hearts die, the white circle using a Sizzix circle die and the scalloped circle using a Spellbinders Scalloped circle die. I added Wink of Stella to the heart to add a bit of sparkle. The sentiment is from WPlus9's Fresh Cut Florals stamp set and stamped onto a strip of light blue.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.
