Die Cut Divas ~ Never Before Used Stuff ~ January Challenge

It's the last day for January's challenge at Die Cut Divas. Our challenge this month is to use

NEVER BEFORE USED STUFF

We don't have a sponsor this month. However, Whimsy Stamps has kindly provided us with a $15 gift voucher to give to our winner this month. A big thank you to Whimsy Stamps.

Here's my card. My only Whimsy Stamp set that I fell into the category of NEVER BEFORE USED STUFF, I used for my card earlier this month - here. I have a lot of supplies that I could have used. I decided to use a never before used, super cute Avery Elle stamp set. 

I used the Dino-mite Day stamp set by Avery Elle. I stamped this cute dinosaur with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers - B12, BG05, G82, RV04, V06, Y06, YG09, YG63, YG67, YR16. I die cut the image with an Echo Park stitched oval nesting die. I found some plaid patterned paper and a light olive A2 card panel to complement my image. I didn't want to add a sentiment. I adhered the pieces in place and adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #460 Die Cut &/or Stencil

And we're back! It's exciting to start a new season at Addicted to Stamps and More! Here's our first challenge to get the creative juices going.

Here's my card

For my card, I used PinkFresh Studio's Whimsical Blooms Layering Stencils (6 layer set) and coordinating die. I used my Wendy Vecchi Make Art STAY-tion to keep my cardstock and stencils in place. I added color with Distress inks (seedless preserves, wilted violet, wild honey, shabby shutters) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I die cut the image with the coordinating die and glued it to a light blue A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I used PinkFresh Studio's Simples Gestures Layering Stencils (4 layer set) with wilted violet distress ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided adhesive tape.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #561

Happy Monday! It's raining here in the Pacific Northwest. Nothing new to report - LOL! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Here's my card

For this card, I challenged myself to create background by only ink blending. I masked off the various areas and added color with distress inks - cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon using oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment element, I stamped the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Many Thanks stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Slumber ink on white cardstock. I die cut a circle, with a Sizzix circle die. I added the scalloped edge using royal blue cardstock and a Spellbinders scalloped circle die. I added a sprig of eucalyptus using a Simon Says STAMP's Eucalyptus Leaves die. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #257

Are you ready for a new challenge? It's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards. Here's our sketch which we hope will inspire you.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with Stampin' Up's Thoughts & Prayers, 2 of 2 and after using a powder tool, I stamped the tree on a white A2 card base with Versamark ink. I then sprinkled silver embossing powder over the image and heat set it. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Handwritten Sentiments and also heat embossed with silver embossing powder. With Simon Says STAMP's Mini Hearts Die Set, I die cut several red hearts using a scrap of red cardstock. I added glossy accents to the hearts to add a bit of shine. Once the glossy accents dried, I glued five hearts on the tree. Sending love to all on this cold winter day.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #250

And we're back. Apologies for the delay. We've gone through a change at Addicted to CAS where our leader has taken a step back and a group of us are trying to keep this challenge going. I anticipate a few bumps in the road as we try to figure things out. However, I hope that you'll bear with us. 

Here is our first challenge of 2024

Here's my card

For my one layer card, I masked off a 1 3/4" vertical strip with Post-it tape. I then used Simon Says STAMP's Clouds for Days stencil and distress inks (picked raspberry, candied apple, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, wilted violet) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I used different sections of the stencil and altered the orientation slightly as I moved from top to bottom. When done, I carefully removed the Post-it tape. I accidently left some small ink smudges but fortunately, I was able to use a fine tip Black marker to draw in some birds to hide the smudges. I then stamped the sentiment with My Favorite Things' Blissful Butterflies stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink to complete the card.

Try A Sketch on Tuesday ~ Challenge #639

It's time for a new sketch to inspire you at Try A Sketch on Tuesday (formerly Try Stampin' On Tuesday). Here's the sketch

Here's my take on the sketch

For my card, I used patterned papers from My Minds Eye Collectable - Notable paper pack. I cut the strips to 1" x 4 1/4". For the sentiment, I stamped using Simon Says STAMP's May Thanks stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a scrap of light teal cardstock, which I cut into a fish-tail banner. For the star element, I replaced it with a sprig, using Poppystamps Leafy Sprig die and gold cardstock. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.
