Die Cut Divas ~ Sympathy Cards with PoppyStamps

End of the month ... already? This month flew by. It's the last day of our September Challenge at Die Cut Divas. Our challenge this month is

SYMPATHY

While we often think of someone's passing. We can also be sympathetic to others going through difficulties or tough times or ???

Our sponsor this month is PoppyStamps who will be giving our winner a $20 gift card. Thank you PoppyStamps.

Here's my card

I went with a more traditional Sympathy card because I'm finding I need them more often. For my card, I used PoppyStamps Flower and Leaf Sprinkles craft dies and PoppyStamps Corner Shoppe Flower Pot Shelves craft dies. I die cut two layers of petals (times three), three stems and one flower pot using the dies and white cardstock. I added color to the die cuts with Copic markers - B93, B95, BV23, Y17, YG63. For the centers of the flowers, I cut some yellow/gold cardstock using my Crop-o-dile smallest hole punch. I glued the pieces of the flowers together. I stamped onto dark gray cardstock the sentiment using Your Next Stamps' Whatnot Sentiments Seven stamp set and Gina K Design's Soft Stone ink. I die cut the dark gray panel using a Waffle Flower A2 Layers die. I glued the stems, flowers and flower pot in place. I adhered the dark gray panel to a darker gray A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape to complete my card.

Our challenge ends today at 9pm Pacific. So, there is still time for you to add your creation to our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #275

Time for a new challenge at AAA Cards

Here's my card

For my card, I used supplies we received as part of the Crop & Create Delivered Fall 2023 event. The supplies were for the Lawn Fawn class. I started with a natural A2 card panel and Lawn Fawn's Autumn Breeze stencil. I added color with distress inks - wild honey, carved pumpkin, rusty hinge, aged mahogany applied with oval ink blending brushes. I stamped the super cute scarecrow girl using Lawn Fawn's You Crow Girl stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the image in with alcohol markers - some Touch and some Copic. I die cut the scarecrow girl using the coordinating Lawn Fawn You Crow Girl die. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Autumn Harvest stamp set and Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your clean and simple cards in our gallery. Will you be inspired to make your card with Autumn colors or not?

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #268

Can you believe that it's already the end of September? Where does the time go? It's already time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. Our challenge this fortnight is

I often have a need for masculine birthday cards. So, that's what I made. Here's my card

I have many friends who work fin Sewers and Waterworks Engineering Operations. This card would be perfect for any of them. I used Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Construction Trucks stencils and distress inks - mustard seed, brushed corduroy and black soot applied with oval ink blending brushes. I cut the panel to 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" and adhered it with double sided tape to a brown A2 card panel. I stamped the sentiment using Spellbinders' Fill My Hearts Sentiments stamp set that I received as part of the Crop & Create Delivered March 2023 kit and Versafine Onyx Black ink. Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #477

We have a new challenge starting at Addicted to Stamps and More! Next on our rotation of challenges is

Here's my card

One of my favorite childhood Christmas memories is going to see The Nutcracker performed by the National Ballet of Canada. My older cousin was a big fan of the National Ballet of Canada and he would purchase two tickets for all the performances. My cousin, my sister, my mom and I all benefitted from joining him at the performances. We went every Christmas to see The Nutcracker. I was so happy to see this nutcracker stamp set by Pawsome Stamps, called Sweet Christmas. Sadly this stamp company is one of those that has closed recently. I stamped this nutcracker with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers B24, C2, E50, R29, Y17. I die cut the image with an Echo Park Stitched Oval Nesting die set die. I found some tone-on-tone snowflake paper for the background. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I adhered the completed panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your Christmas card creations in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #655

It's a special challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday as we will be partnering with Double Trouble Papercraft Challenge. Our sketch is

Double Trouble Papercraft Challenge #175 is Let the Troubles Begin.

I'm with Thing 2 - Double Dare as I used a die cut/punch and our Try A Sketch On Tuesday sketch. Here's my card

For my card, I used patterned papers from Stampin' Up's Cherry On Top 6x6  Designer Series Paper pad. The background paper looks like balloon strings, which was my inspiration. I cut the background paper to A2 size. I then chose different patterned papers from the pad and die cut the balloons in various sizes using Scrapbook.com's Nested Stitched Balloons dies. I arranged the balloons similar to the sketch, making sure that a balloon string from the background lined up with the balloon. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Furry Cat & Box stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your take on our sketch and if you're so inspired, join our sister challenge at Double Trouble.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #595

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. For the next fortnight, here is our sketch

Here is my card

For my card, I started with PoppyStamps Petite Blooms Flower die set. I die cut the four sizes of flowers and added salty ocean distress ink with a mini ink blending brush. I die cut the center of the flower and added wild honey distress ink with another mini ink blending brush. For the leaves, I used PoppyStaps Orchard Leaves die set and green cardstock. For a bit of shading, I brushed some pine needles distress ink to the edges of the leaves with a mini ink blending brush. I curved the flower petals slightly for a bit of dimension. I glued the pieces of the flower together and glued the leaves in place. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set and Gina K Designs' Soft Stone ink. I glued all the elements of my card to a natural A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #274

Hello Crafty Friends! Hope you're ready for a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. For the next two weeks, our challenge will be

I'll admit it. I had some difficulty creating a card with this sketch as my inspiration. I tried a couple of things which didn't work the way I had envisioned. I finally came up with this card.

For my card, I used Clear Scraps 6" Funky Boxes stencil. I was intentional keeping the colors separated. I used a lot of scraps of post-it notes to keep the colored areas unique. I used distress inks - mermaid lagoon, wilted violet, picked raspberry, carved pumpking and mustard seed applied with oval ink blending brushes. Due to the funky nature of the shapes, I chose a funky sentiment using Paper Smooches' Sentiment Sampler stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adhered this A2 panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your creations based on our sketch in our gallery.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #267

Well, it's that time. Time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. For the next two weeks, our challenge will be

Here's my card

Guess it was all those years of piano and violin lessons that made me think of a music note, in response to our code word of NOTE. I started by smooshin some tumbled glass and picked raspberry distress ink onto some 100 lb bristol. I also spritzed some water droplets to add more detail and interest. I then die cut the eighth note using CASual Friday's Heart Note Fri-dies. I die cut a circle from white cardstock with a My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX die-namics die. I stamped the sentiment using CASual Friday's Love Notes stamp set and Concordd & 9th's Dove ink. I glued the eighth note in place and glued the circle die cut to a light teal A2 card panel. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 note card with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your take on "Just A Note" in our gallery.

A Sympathy Card with PoppyStamps at Die Cut Divas

Our challenge for the month of September at Die Cut Divas is

SYMPATHY

Our sponsor this month is PoppyStamps. They will be giving our winner a $20 gift card. A big thank you to them.

Here is my sympathy card

For my card, I used PoppyStamps Flower Field Corner die. I die cut two in dark gray and two in black. I glued the black die cuts behind the gray die cuts for a bit of dimension. I stamped the sentiment using an old PoppyStamps Peony Stems and Blossoms stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I die cut the light gray panel using a Waffle Flowers' Additional A2 Layers die and the black panel using a Waffle Flower A2 Layers die. I glued the floral die cuts in place around the stamped sentiment and adhered the light gray panel to the black panel with double-sided tape. To complete my card, I adhered the black panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your SYMPATHY creations in our gallery this month.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #476

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!. For the next two weeks, the challenge will be

Here's my card

For my card, I started by randomly stamping the birthday icons using Technique Tuesday's Let's Party stamp set with Versamark ink on 96 lb bristol paper and heat embossing with white embossing powder. I then smooshed distress inks (mustard seed, twisted citron, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon) all over the watercolor paper. I trimmed the bristol to A2 size and adhered it to a white A2 note card to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you "make your mark" in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #654

Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends. We have a new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday that we hope will inspire you to get crafty. Here is the sketch

Here's my take on the sketch

For my card, I started with some kraft cardstock and ink blended some ground expresso and gathered twigs distress ink randomly with oval ink blending brushes. I then die cut the wreath using Elizabeth Craft Designs' Twiggy Things dies. I die cut the flower layers using a light green cardstock. I added some picked raspberry distress ink to the edges with a small ink blending brush. I die cut the leafy element using green cardstock and added some peeled paint distress ink with an oval ink blending brush. I lightly cupped each flower layer and glued each layer of the flowers together, slightly off-setting the petals. I found some brown tone-on-tone patterned paper and used a strip for the horizontal element. For the sentiment, I ink blended some more picked raspberry distress ink to the same green cardstock as the flowers. I then stamped the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set. I cut the cardstock to a small rectangle. I added a small enamel dot to the sentiment strip. I glued the elements to a natural A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your take on our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge ~ Challenge #593

What happened? This was supposed to be a long weekend here in Canada. Before I knew it, it was Monday evening. Life is crazy - guess my life is a bit too hectic and time flies by. I'm sure that it was just Friday! LOL!

Nonetheless, it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch

Here's my card

For my card, I started with My Minds Eye's 'Tis the Season 6x6 designer paper pad. I chose three patterned papers from the pad. The plaid-like paper I cut to A2 size. With the other two patterned papers, I die cut two sizes of tags using STAMPlorations' Tags #1 Nesting dies. For the largest tag, I die cut using vellum, as I didn't want to cover up too much of the background patterned paper. For the sentiment tag, I used Clearly Besotted's Say What? stamp set, gold embossing powder and a scrap of red cardstock. I die cut the sentiment tag using an Impression Obsession Mini Rectangle Tags 1 die. I used gold cord to attach the four tags. I also tied a bow with the cord and attached it to the top of the tags with a small glue dot. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #273

It's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards. For the next two weeks, our challenge is

Here's my card. I chose to use the Optional Twists: Sympathy - Get Well.

For my card, I used Mama Elephant's Feel Better stamp and coordinating die set which I received as part of the Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered Fall 2022 event. I stamped the bunny and the heart with the bandaid with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added some color with Copic markers - E02, E33, R29, R32 and used the coordinating dies to die cut the bunny and the heart. The die cut also cuts the bunny's "hands" so that the bunny can carry something, in this case, the heart. I ink blended some crushed olive distress ink in the area where I was to glue the bunny and the heart on a white A2 card panel. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. I glued the bunny and the heart in place and adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery.
