Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #524

It's starting to feel like fall. Hoping for some more sunshine and heat - as long as it's not the extreme heat we had earlier this summer! 

It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Our challenge is this sketch, with the optional theme of patterned paper.

Isn't this a fun looking sketch? Here's my card

Looking at the sketch, it felt like I needed to make a celebratory card. So, birthday card it is. I started with the patterned paper that looks like asterisks in multiple colors. I chose my colors based on that patterned paper. I stamped the cake using Sugar Pea Designs Bring on the Cake stamp set with Hero Arts cornflower, lime green, strawberry, butter bar. I used the matching dies to die cut the layers of cake and the candle. I checked through my paper stash to find other patterned papers that went with my color scheme. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Mini Monkey stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of red cardstock and I die cut it into a banner with Avery Elle's dotted die set. I used a Sizzix circle die to die cut the circle from natural cardstock. I assembled everything onto a natural A2 card base.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #206

Hello Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS.

Here's my "leaf" card

For my card, I used Crop & Create Delivered Cardmaking Gina K's layering stencils and dies. With the two layer stencils, I used mowed lawn and twisted citron distress inks applied with an ink blending tool. I then die cut them with the matching dies. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Thanks Frame using scraps of gray and black cardstock. I arranged the small branches of leaves so that they spread out from behind the sentiment frame. I adhered everything on a white A2 cardbase.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Clearly Besotted's Flower Arrangement stamp set for the vase and flowers. For my inks, I used Hero Arts Soft Sky, Soft Pink, Soft Cantaloupe, Passion Flower, Butter Bar and Field Greens. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Banner Sayings, stamped with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. To complete this card, I added a small bow made from light purple chiffon ribbon.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Stencil Challenge

Howdy Crafty Friends! What do you think about stencils? I love them. They are affordable and are an easy way to add color or pattern or interest to your card. We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge

I have a large collection of stencils and often, it's so difficult to chose one to make a card. Here's my card

I'm loving the Simon Says STAMP's Simple Patterns Stencils (set of 3). I chose the one with diagonal lines and added colors with distress inks - kitsch flamingo, peacock feathers, cracked pistachio. I stamped the flower outline and the sentiment, using Poppy Stamps Peony Stems and Blossoms with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I liked the way this one layer card turned out.

Happy Little Stampers ~ September Christmas Challenge

It's so fun to think about Christmas. I love the carols, the decorations, the lights and of course, Santa Claus. I'm pretty sure that I have more Christmas stamp sets than any other topic/subject. There are so many good ones out there, right?

We have a new challenge for the month of September at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge

Here's my card

Well, I suppose that the "non-traditional" part of my card are the colors, very non-Christmasy. I was going through my craft supplies and found The Crafter's Workshop 6x6 Ornaments stencil. I inked up the ornaments with distress inks - kitsch flamingo, peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, shaded lilac, spun sugar, picked raspberry, blueprint sketch on white cardstock. I fussy cut the ornaments. Using a Sakura silver gelly roll pen, I colored in the ornament tops using the stencil and added the strings, using a ruler onto a light blue A2 card panel before adhering the ornaments.The sentiment is stamped using Paper Smooches' A Blessed Christmas stamp set and was heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

Here's my card

I watched a video (somewhere) of Gina K making a card. She started by using bubble wrap as a stamp. So I decided to try. I had a used bubble envelope. I cut it up, exposing the interior bubbles and inked it up with Stampin' Up's Concord Crush ink and stamped it onto a white A2 card panel. It turned out pretty cool, I think! I trimmed the panel down slightly and matted it with some dark purple cardstock. I cut a smaller panel of the same color for the focal panel. I die cut the simple outline of a flower using Paper Smooches' Dainty Flower die and white cardstock. For the sentiment, I stamped using Mint Owl Studio - Banner Sentiments I and the same Concord Crush ink on a scrap of white cardstock. I punched out the circle, using a 1.5" circle punch. I adhered the sentiment, so that the white overlapped a bit of the smaller purple panel and trimmed it. I also adhered the white outline flower to the smaller purple panel and adhered it all to the background to complete my card.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Morgan's ArtWorld's Fae 18 digital stamp. I chose this butterfly and sized and printed it out with my inkjet printer. I found a scrap of striped patterned papers and chose the colors for my butterfly from it. I used Copic markers B97, BG13, BG15, Y02, YG03, YR04. For the sentiment, I used My Favorite Things' Itty Bitty Basics stamp set, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a scrap of teal cardstock. I then used Concord & 9th's Scripted Thanks die set to die cut the sentiment. I adhered the pieces onto a white A2 card base.
