Who doesn't love a birthday celebration? Certainly not this girl! So proud and happy to be part of day one of STAMPlorations 8th Birthday Celebration. My projects make use of STAMPlorations  Birthday Bundle 1.

I have two cards for you today. Here is card 1

For this card, I started with my Gelli press and wilted violet, peacock feathers and salty ocean distress oxides. I smooshed the distress oxides randomly on the Gelli press and smoothed it out using a brayer. I made several prints. The one I used for this card was a second generation print - meaning I took one print where the colors were quite vibrant and without adding more ink, I took a second print were the colors are more muted. I was trying to decide how I was going to use the STAMPlorations Blossom Sprays #4 stamp. Stamping it with black ink didn't seem right, this time. So, after I inked up the Gelli press with the same oxides, I used it as a ink pad and then stamped onto the second generation print. To complete the card, I used STAMPlorations Art Border Die #1 with some dark teal cardstock. I felt it was missing something when placed beside the inked panel, so I added a strip of silver shimmer cardstock, behind the die cut. Ah yes, this was better. I adhered everything to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

Card 2

This card was also made while my Gelli plate was out. For the background, I started with peacock feathers, seedless preserves and faded jeans distress oxides smooshed randomly and smoothed out with a brayer. I inked up a white A2 card panel with the ink. I then placed STAMPlorations ARTplorations Design Blox #5 stencil onto the gelli plate and added more distress oxide ink - this time the same colors as the previous card - salty ocean, wilted violet, peacock feathers. I used the same card panel and printed the next layer of ink on top. I really liked the panel and was a bit reluctant to cover it up. I didn't want whatever I did to out-compete the background. So, I decided to stamp the STAMPlorations Blossom Spray #4 with Versafine Onyx Black ink on white cardstock. I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the background. For the sentiment, I stamped it using STAMPlorations Radiate Happy stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink to complete the card.

There couldn't be a birthday celebration without gifts. STAMPlorations has a variety of gifts up for grabs. Full details on the STAMPlorations blog.
