I'm loving the longer days and the warmer temperatures of June in the northern hemisphere. It can be difficult to think about Christmas when it's so nice out. However, Christmas will be here, sooner than we realize and it's so nice to have a stash of Christmas card when it comes time to send them out. Our new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge is
For my card, I looked around to see if I had a stamp set where there was some tinsel. I couldn't find one. So instead, this is the card I made.
I opted to use a sparkly silver glitter cardstock, which reminded me of tinsel. I used Sizzix Triplits Christmas Trees die set. For the background of the tree, I couldn't find a scrap of green in the shade I was imagining, so I used a scrap of white cardstock and added some Mowed Lawn distress ink, applied with an ink blending tool. I die cut the tree with the same die set. I found a scrap of Christmas patterned paper, which I cut into a 1.5" x 4.25" strip. I added a sentiment, stamped onto a strip of white cardstock with a stamp from Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. Here's my tinsel-inspired Christmas card.
We'd love to see your Christmas creation.
