Die Cut Divas ~ Last Day of February Challenge

It's the last day of the February challenge at Die Cut Divas. Our challenge this month is "fun folds". You have until 9pm (Pacific) to join. We have been sponsored by Hero Arts who will be providing our winner with a $25 gift certificate.

Here's my card

I started this card by creating the background with STAMPlorations ARTplorations Placid stencil, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks applied with an ink blending too and a white A2 card panel. I trimmed the A2 panel slightly and cut into two halves with a vertical cut (and the paper in the landscape position). I adhered each half to a light teal z-fold card base. To create a z-fold card base, start with a piece of cardstock cut 4.25" x 11" and score at 2.75" and 5.5". For the main panel, I stamped the turtle using Hero Arts Color Layering Sea Turtle with Hero Arts Lime Green and Field Greens and Simon Says STAMP Fern inks. I fussy cut the turtle out. I used a My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX die and some turquoise cardstock for the background of the turtle.

When the card is opened, the MAHALO (thank you in Hawaiian) is revealed. I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts Summer Sky ink and used a Stampin' Up Oval Punch.
