I started with the new STAMPlorations ARTplorations Flexi-Template squares. If I label the components of the flexi-template squares, starting with the full square as one, the next size as two, and so on. I picked out number two and number four templates (leaving the space between, which is the size of number three template, for inking). I started with a 4.25" x 4.25" white cardstock square. I adhered the templates with post-it tape, using template three as a space holder to position number four template. I added cracked pistachio distress ink with an ink blending tool to the space between the two templates. I wanted a bit more interest. I used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Flair stencil with peacock feathers and mermaid lagoon distress inks, applied with ink blending tools, to add some detail to the area. Here's a close-up.
For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Say it Big: Do What You Love stamp with Hero Arts pale tomato ink. I trimmed the panel down to 3.75" x 3.75", matted with a light teal and adhered it to a 4.25" x 4.25" white card base.
I love that these flexi-templates make me think outside the box. I'm pretty happy how my first experiment turned out.
We're going to have projects for the next four days to continue our belated 7th birthday celebration!
