It's the final day of our challenge for the month of August at Die Cut DivasOur challenge this month has been

EMBOSSING - either Wet or Dry or Both

Our sponsor this month is SheepSki DesignsThey will be sending our winner, three images of their choice. Thank you SheepSki Designs.

Here's my card

For my card, I did both wet and dry embossing. I started with the beautiful heart-shaped wreath which is part of SheepSki Designs' Floral Heart digital set. I sized the heart and printed with my InkJet printer. I added color with Copic markers - B02, B29, BG15, BV04, E25, R37, R46, RV02, RV14, V05, V15, V17, Y06, Y15, Y38 and die cut using a My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX die-namics die. I heat embossed the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Furry Cat & Box stamp set and gold embossing powder. For some texture, I embossed a strip of blue cardstock with ProvoCraft Cuttlebug's Chicken Wire embossing folder. I chose to use the de-bossed side. I adhered the de-bossed strip and focal panel onto a A2 panel of light teal cardstock which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

If you're thinking of joining us for our Wet or Dry Embossing or both Challenge. Our gallery closes tonight at 9pm Pacific time.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with  Copic markers B60, BG13, E33, YR02, YR20. I fussy cut the image. For the background, I used Pink & Main's Mask It Circle stencil on a white A2 card base. I added color with distress inks - cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and glued the tea cup in place to complete my card.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #475

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! This challenge will be

Here's my card

For my card, I used Altenew's Perfect Gift Kit, including the Botanical 3D embossing folder and the two 6x6 layering stencils and die, which I received as part of the Crop & Create Delivered event Fall 2023. I used the 3D embossing folder and added color to the flower and leaves using the two 6x6 layering stencils and distress inks (wilted violet, mustard seed, mowed lawn) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then die cut the flower and leaves with the coordinating die. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Simply Thank You die and I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the die cut for a bit of sparkle. I adhered the floral die cut and the sentiment to a light purple A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #653

Hi Crafty Friends! We have a new challenge for you at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's our sketch.

Here's my card

I flipped the sketch upside down. Instead of stars, I used balloons and I figured balloons were appropriate for a birthday card. While, I didn't add a sentiment, per se, the patterned paper is full of sentiments for a birthday card - right? The patterned paper for the top and bottom pieces were from an American Crafts 6x6 pack. For the black and white oval piece, I stamped it using Pink & Main's Special Gift stamp on white cardstock. I didn't have an oval die narrow enough for this sketch. So, I improvised. Using MS Word, I added an oval and stretched it out and printed it. I cut it out and used it as a template for my stamped oval element. For the balloons, I used several of My Favorite Things' Birthday Wishes & Dies and vellum. I colored the backside of the vellum with colored Sharpie markers. It's a great way to get colored vellum, instead of buying all the different colors. I used a single strand of baker's twine for the balloon strings and didn't adhere the bottoms of the twine. I like how they "swing" on the card. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you are inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #591

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's our sketch.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with the "rock" dude playing the guitar. It's from Gerda Steiner Designs' You Rock stamp set. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on light gray cardstock and added color with Copic markers C2, R29, YG06. I used a Sizzix circle die to die cut the image and stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set. For the background, I used Heffy Doodle's Stoney Maloney stencil, starting with kraft cardstock and ink blending with distress inks - weathered wood, pumice stone, frayed burlap applied with oval ink blending brushes. I cut this panel to 2 1/2" x 4 1/4". I adhered the ink blended panel to a dark gray A2 panel and added the circle element, laying it above a nest of gold thread. To complete my card, I adhered the A2 panel to a white A2 card base.

Looking forward to seeing your creations in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #272

Ready for a challenge? We have a new challenge starting at AAA Cards. Here's our sketch which we hope will inspire you to get crafty.

I was stumped by this sketch for quite some time. I looked through my supplies looking for inspiration. This is what I came up with.

For my card, I started with Simon Says STAMP's Patterned Circles stencil and a white A2 card base. I inked up three different circles with distress inks (picked raspberry, wilted violet, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio, lucky clover) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I masked off each circle with a post-it note and a circle punched out, just a bit larger than the stencil circle. I slightly overlapped the circles. For the sentiment, I used Ink Blot Shop's Simple Sentiments and Gina K Designs' Soft Stone ink.

We'd love to see how you were inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #265

Hope you're ready for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. Our next challenge is

Here's my card

For my card, I did some ink blending in rainbow order of colors on a white A2 card base. I started with Honey Bee Stamps' Celebrate stencil that I received as part of the Crop & Create Delivered Spring 2022 event. I ink blended with distress inks - peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, wilted violet, picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard see, mowed lawn applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I ink blended a piece of white cardstock about 3 1/4" x 1", again in rainbow order. I then die cut the sentiment using the coordinating Celebrate die that I also received as part of the C&CD kit. I glued the sentiment in place to complete my card.

We'd love to see your "BLENDED" cards in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ Embossing with SheepSki Designs

With this new month of August, comes a new challenge at Die Cut Divas. Our challenge this month is

EMBOSSING - either Wet or Dry or Both

Our sponsor this month is SheepSki Designs. They will be sending our winner, three images of their choice. Thank you SheepSki Designs.

Here's my card. I did the dry embossing on my card.

For my card, I started with SheepSki Designs' Floral Heart image (which includes the butterfly as a separate digital image). I sized the butterfly and printed on my inkjet printer. I added color with Copic markers - BV04, BV13, C5, V15, Y38 and die cut the image using a My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX die-namics die. For the background, I used Spellbinders' Seamless Floral Background embossing folder with white cardstock. I added color to the embossed area with distress inks (wild honey, carved pumpkin, bundled sage) using small oval ink blending brushes. I trimmed this embossed panel to 5 1/2" x 3 3/8" and adhered it to a goldenrod A2 card panel with double-sided tape. For the sentiment, I stamped using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental on a scrap of purple cardstock. I trimmed it to a fish-tail banner with a trimmer and scissors. I used tape runner to place the sentiment banner and butterfly element in place. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

Looking forward to seeing your EMBOSSED creations in our gallery, here

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #474

Hello! It's a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! This time, our challenge is

Here's my card

For my card, I used craft supplies I received as part of the kit for Scrapbook and Cards Today's Celebrations Delivered February 2024. I used dies, a stamp from the stamp set and a stencil. I used the stencil with mermaid lagoon distress ink applied with an oval ink blending brush, on the onesie die cut. I found some plaid patterned paper that went with my colors for the background. I adhered the pieces to a light gray A2 card base to complete my card. Now, if I only knew someone who was expecting a baby boy! LOL!

We'd love to see your ANY OCCASION cards in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #652

It's time for a new sketch at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's our sketch.

Here's my card

This is a simple card. I obviously rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the right. I pulled out 6" Glitz Paper Pack "Finnley" and chose two patterned papers. I cut the multi-color paper to 3 1/4" x 2" and I cut the yellow patterned paper to 4" x 1 3/4". The black strip, I cut 5 1/2" x 1/2" and angled the ends. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Simply Thank You die set with yellow and black cardstock. I glued the pieces onto a light green A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape to complete my card.

I'm looking forward to your takes on our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #589

Happy BC Day! Well, it's BC Day for those of you in BC. I think that other Canadian provinces also have holidays today. It's also the day for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the new sketch

Here's my card

It doesn't happen very often to me. However, when I saw this sketch, I knew exactly what to do. I pulled out my Simon Says STAMP's Holiday Horizon stencil. I stencilled the various levels with distress inks - rustic wilderness, bundled sage, pumice stone, hickory smoke, tumbled glass applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the sentiment, I used the Mountain Stacks stamp set which I received as part of Concord & 9th's Summer Camp 2021 kit. I adhered this A2 panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

I'm anxious to see how you were inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #271

We have a new challenge starting at AAA Cards. For the next fortnight, our challenge is

I was kind of stumped by this challenge, until I remembered Concord & 9th's Summer Camp 2021. Here's my card

I used Pink & Main's Mask It Circle stencil and cut a mask from some scrap paper for the hill. I used bundled sage distress ink applied with an oval ink blending brush for the "grass". I then used  Simon Says STAMP's Clouds for Days stencil with tumbled glass distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush for the clouds. I moved the stencil and changed the orientation for the different levels of clouds. I removed the Mask It Circle stencil. I used Concord & 9th's Happy Camper dies to make my little camper van with the trees. I glued them in place. I used Concord & 9th's Mountain Stacks stamp set with Concord & 9th's Dove ink for the sentiment to complete my card.

We'd love to see your Clean and Simple card with the optional twist of Holidays - Travels in our gallery.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #264

WOW - it's already August? Where is the time going? Well, it is time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. Our challenge is

Here's my card

For me, I love going to the beach. We prefer going to Oahu during winter so I don't go into the ocean as the waves and rip tide can be ferocious and dangerous at that time. Life is perfect - sitting on a beach, listening to the waves and the wind rustle through the palm leaves. For my card, I stamped the flip flops using Lawn Fawn's Life is Good stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers - V05, YR02. I fussy cut them out. For my little scene, i used some dark kraft paper and I added some gathered twigs distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the waves, I tore some blue paper and added Color Box Frost White pigment ink along the torn edges. I glued the torn strips to the kraft paper and die cut using a Sizzix circle die. I adhered the die cut to a natural A2 card base and glued the flip flops in place. I stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Summer Shower ink to complete my card.

We'd love to see your beach creations in our gallery.
