Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #592

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch which we hope will inspire you

Optional: Ink Blending

Here's my card

I did a bit of ink blending, our optional theme, with a stencil. I stenciled a white A2 card panel with Altenew's Feeling Dotty stencil and distress inks - spun sugar, shaded lilac, tumbled glass, salvaged patina applied with oval ink blending brushes. For some contrast, I stamped the floral bouquet with STAMPlorations' Blossom Sprays #1 on white cardstock and fussy cut the image out, without adding any color. For the sentiment, I stamped it using Paper Smooches' Noteworthy stamp set on a scrap of blue cardstock, which I cut into a fish-tail banner. I adhered the banner under the fussy cut bouquet and adhered it all to the inked panel. To complete my card, I used double-sided tape to attach the panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Die Cut Divas ~ Valentine's with Lawn Fawn

It's the end of the first month of 2023. How are you all doing? It seems like it takes me a month to get my life back to "normal" after the holidays. Happily, things are settling down and I'm finding more time at my craft table. Woohoo!

It's the final day of our January Challenge at Die Cut Divas where our challenge this month is

VALENTINES

This month, our sponsor is Lawn Fawn. They will be giving our winner a $25 gift card to their online store.

Here's my card

I started with a pink A2 card panel. I embossed it with DoCrafts Xcut Universal embossing folder - Small Polka Hearts. Then, I die cut the heart using Lawn Fawn's Center Picture Window Card Hearts Add-on die. I found some xoxo patterned paper. I cut a piece and adhered it behind the heart "window". I heat embossed the sentiment using Lawn Fawn's Wavy Sayings with white embossing powder on a scrap of red cardstock. I then die cut it with Lawn Fawn's Simply Wavy Banners die. I glued the ends of the wavy banner to the pink panel. Using double sided tape, I adhered the pink panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Today is the last day to add your Valentine's project to our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #509

It's still Monday, at least here on the West Coast it is. So, that must mean that it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's our sketch, which we hope will inspire you to spend some crafty time at your craft table.

Here's my card

Instead of flowers, as shown on the sketch, I substituted balloons. I die cut the balloons using scraps of cardstock and dies from Paper Smooches' Balloons die set. I chose some confetti-like background paper which I die cut with a My Favorite Things Die-Namics Inside & Outside Stitched Rectangle STAX die. The confetti is actually little hearts but seems very festive and celebratory. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches' Let's Celebrate stamp set and Hero Arts Aquatic ink. I die cut the sentiment using a My Favorite Things Die-Namics Stitched Circle STAX die. I adhered the sentiment element to the background paper. I used silver thread for the balloon strings and adhered them under the bottom of the patterned paper. I adhered the patterned paper to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love you see how you were inspired by our sketch.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #590

Do you enjoy working with sketches? I do. Sometimes when I need some inspiration, I look for a sketch as a starting point. Here's our sketch for our next challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Here's my card

For this challenge, I used a stamp set called Bundle Congrats by Unity Stamps,  that I had pulled out for another challenge but decided to go a different way. This stamp was perfect for the focal image. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers - B00, R29, RV23, V04. I also stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white cardstock which I then trimmed to a fish-tail banner. I looked for some patterned paper that I could use for the strips. I found a light blue patterned paper but nothing else. So, I went with a pink cardstock strip for the longer strip. I adhered everything on a light gray A2 card base to complete my simple baby congrats card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch. Please add your creations to our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #507

Are you ready for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope so! Here is the sketch which we hope will inspire you.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with STAMPlorations' Ephemera for the Love of Coffee. I chose this cup of coffee as my starting point. I created the coffee bean inspired panel with Elizabeth Craft Designs' Coffee stencil, Ground Espresso and Brushed Corduroy distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes on some kraft cardstock. I trimmed it down. I felt I needed to have something behind the coffee cup, so I die cut using a My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Circle STAX die and light kraft cardstock. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations' Hello, Coffee stamp set, stamped with Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink on a scrap of white cardstock, trimmed to a fish-tail banner. I found a scrap of printed cardstock for the second fish-tail banner. I adhered everything onto a blue A2 card panel which was then attached to a white A2 card panel with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch. Please add your creation to our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ Valentines with Lawn Fawn

Happy New Year Die Cut Diva fans! Hoping you will have lots of time for crafting in 2023. Our first challenge of 2023 is designed to get you ready for Valentines Day. Our challenge is

Valentines

Our sponsor this month is Lawn Fawn

Here's my card

Truthfully, I don't have much in the way of Valentines' stuff. However, I do have Lawn Fawn's Center Picture Window Card Heart Add-On Die. I didn't realize that it was an add-on die until I started to think about what to do. I of course, do not own Lawn Fawn's Center Picture Window Card die set, so I had to find an alternate use for my die set. I used the heart die to die cut a window from a pink A2 card panel. I decided to do a shaker card but not a shaker card with lots of dimensional adhesive. Oh no - I used a small plastic bag to hold the "shaker bits" also known as Michael's queen of Hearts confetti. In this way, I didn't have to build up dimension on my card. I closed the small bag by folding over the open edge and adding with scotch tape to hold the folded part in place. I stamped the sentiment using Lawn Fawn's Wavy Sayings stamp set and Hero Arts Pale Tomato ink. I adhered the bag of confetti in place with more scotch tape. I trimmed the pink panel slightly and adhered it with double sided tape to a white A2 card panel. Here's a close-up

We'd love to see your Valentines' creations in our gallery this month.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #588

Happy New Year my crafty friends! Hoping 2023 is full of time to be crafty!

We have a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday that we hope will inspire you.

Optional theme: Winter Activities
Here's my card

Before I could start on my card, I had to clear away the Christmas mess I left on my craft table. LOL! For my card, I was inspired by the optional theme of winter activities. I pulled out my Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes stamp set. I created a little forest scene, with a frozen lake/pond, for this person to skate on. I added some "puddles" of tumbled glass distress ink applied with an oval ink blending brush. I then stamped some trees around the "puddles" of tumbled glass with Hero Arts pine ink. I then stamped the skater with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I wanted to stamp another skater but there wasn't enough space. I matted the main panel with black to help it pop. I found some patterned papers for the elements of the sketch. I adhered everything to a light teal A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery.
