Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge # 331

It's Monday, which must mean that it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here's my card

I'll admit it - this was a difficult sketch for me. Perhaps, I made it more difficult for myself by starting with a busy background. Nonetheless, I like how it turned out. I started with Hero Arts Deco Pattern stencil and lots of distress inks (mowed lawn, peacock feathers, worn lipstick, twisted citron, dusty concord, seedless preserves, wilted violet, abandoned coral, mustard seed, salty ocean, tumbled glass, shaded lilac, cracked pistachio, picked raspberry, barn door, ripe persimmon), applied with ink daubers. I tried to restrict colors overlapping by using scrap paper to mask areas. When cutting the inked panel, I removed the thin strips where the black background comes through. Does that make sense? I didn't just cut the panel and move the pieces apart. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments stamp set. The small die cut heart was cut with Lawn Fawn's hearts die.
