A few more cards ....

While checking out the Operation Write Home blog, I found inspiration - using a complete 6x6 paper pack with coordinating solid cardstock to make cards. What a concept - I often am overwhelmed on where to start. This gives me hope (especially since I have quite the collection of 6x6 paper packs.

Using this paper pack

 I've made these three cards - using OWH sketch#186, S&S Sketch #05 and OWH Sketch #46.

 This one, I inked using a stencil with distress inks

I can get used to this. These cards came together really easily.

CAS(E) this Sketch! #114

I was stuck with this sketch too. I looked at the design team's work and found my inspiration with Donna Mikasa

Cut two panels of 65# cardstock. I find that this technique works better if the cardstock is not too thick. One panel is cut at 4" x 5 1/4" and the other is cut at 3" x 4 1/4". Using a little adhesive center the small panel on the larger panel.

 Used this stamp set

 and these Hero Arts shadow inks

Using this stamp set, stamp the large "thank you" with Memento Tuxedo black ink on the small panel. Mat the panels and assemble the card.

Freshly Made Sketches #177

It's been crafting weather - rainy! It's too wet to do anything outside. Nothing better that hiding in my craft room.

 I used this Tim Holtz stencil

and daubers and these distress inks to ink up a panel of white cardstock
 

 I cut a thin border with this SU border punch

Inked up the sentiment from this SU stamp set with Memento Tuxedo black ink and made a banner. It needed something else so I made a thin mat to go around the banner.

The inked panel needed something to make it pop, so I matted it with black.

CASology Week 137 - Tropical

AAAAhhhhhh - when I hear the word "tropical" I think of Maui - trade winds blowing, waves crashing on the sand, soft sand, sun .... yup, my idea of paradise. This was the inspiration for my card.

I used this die set to cut out the three squares from a piece of white cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

I used my teflon sheet; added splotches of these three distress inks and spritzed with water. I placed the right edge of the front of my A2 card into the ink and let dry. I adhered the die cut panel on top of the inked card.

 I used this stamp set that I purchased from a scrapbooking store in Maui.

 I inked the three stamps with distress markers. I stamped into the "openings" created by the die cuts.

What I noticed is that my card doesn't lay flat because of the water/ink. I've placed it under some weight - not sure if it will flatten out anymore.

Mojo Monday Sketch #388

I stared at the sketch for quite awhile. I couldn't figure out what to do. Then while moving some papers around, I found an image that I had stamped and clear embossed some time ago. Suddenly, I knew what to do! I love it when that happens.

Here's the stamp - I used Versafine onyx black ink and clear embossing powder and heat set it.

 I coloured the image with copics - V09 and V17

 I cut out the large butterfly with the SU Embosslit - Beautiful Wings

 Stamped the large "thank you" from his set with Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Adhered the pieces and added some Recollections faux pearls in black and white to finish off the card.
