Happy Monday from the rainy Pacific Northwest. It's time for a new sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.
Here's my take on the sketch
It's crazy right? I have a huge stash of patterned paper but no, I create my own patterned paper. I created the background patterned paper using Concord & 9th's Summer Blossoms Turnabout Stamp set that I received from a Concord & 9th's Summer Camp. A turnabout stamp for those who are unfamiliar is a stamp which is designed to be stamped four times, rotating 90* each time without the images overlapping. This clever design allows you to use four different colors to create the background paper, one for each position of the stamp. The four inks I chose were Concord & 9th's sprout, sorbet, peacock and juniper. When complete, I cut 1 1/4" squares with my trimmer trying to keep the orientation and position of the squares in tact. I glued the squares to a light olive A2 card panel leaving a thin space between the lines and rows. I die cut the branches using silver cardstock and a Gina K Design's Foliage Fillers die. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set with silver embossing powder on coral cardstock. I die cut a partial circle using a Sizzix circle die. I glued the branches and sentiment element in place. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.
We'd love to see how you are inspired by our sketch in our gallery.
