Die Cut Divas ~ Last Day with Waffle Flower

Our challenge for this month is

MONOCHROMATIC

and it's ending later today, here

Our sponsor this month is Waffle Flower. They will be giving our winner a $15 gift certificate. Thank you to Waffle Flower for their generosity.

Here's my card

Yup, more stitching on my card! I started with Waffle Flower's Dotted Triangle Trees dies and die cut using some tone-on-tone green patterned paper. I added the stitching using some DMC embroidery floss. I found some lighter green tone-on-tone paper for the wide strip, which I adhered to a light green A2 card base. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Key Lime ink. I glued the trees in place to complete my "green", monochromatic card.

Hope you have some time to get crafty and join us in the gallery before it closes tonight.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #469

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! Our challenge is

My card is one I created for a neighbour whose beloved puppy passed away and crossed the rainbow bridge.

For my card, I started with a black A2 card panel and used a Recollections paw print stamp. I stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Whynot Sentiments which was also heat embossed with silver embossing powder. To make the card a bit more heartfelt, I added three small hearts, die cut using Simon Says STAMP's Mini Hearts die set. I trimmed the black panel slightly and matted with a medium gray A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your ANY OCCASION projects in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #579

It's Monday and that means that there is a new sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I cut 1/2" strips from four shades of blue cardstock. I used some printer paper for the background and placed some adhesive all over and started adhering the strips, somewhat randomly trying to preserve the basketweave pattern. I trimmed the panel to A2 size. I die cut some balloons from vellum, using My Favorite Things' Birthday Wishes & Balloons dies. I used some embroidery thread for the balloon strings. The sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental was stamped on a scrap of white cardstock and trimmed. The ballons, their strings and the sentiment were adhered to the panel and then the panel was adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you were inspired by our sketch.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #266

Ready for some more Clean and Simple fun? A new challenge is starting at AAA Cards. Our inspiration is

For me, I was focused on the three circles. Here's my card

For my one layer card, I used Simon Says STAMP's Patterned Circles stencil. To isolate the circles and prevent unwanted overlap of colors, I made masks with Post-it Notes and a 1 1/2" circle punch. I added color with distress inks, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers and mermaid lagoon; squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, spiced marmalade; and abandoned coral, picked raspberry, wilted violet, applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentiment and Gina K Design's Soft Stone ink.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch by adding your cards to our gallery.

Here's my BALLOON card

I added color to the stencil using distress inks - cracked pistachio, peacock feathers and mermaid lagoon, applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I used The Stamps of Life's Candles 4 Birthdays stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Sapphire ink.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #647

Ready for a new challenge? For our next challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday, we're are partnering with our sister challenge Double Trouble for their 6th Anniversary.

Our sketch for our challenge is

Here's a summary of the challenge at Double Trouble

Thing 1 Trouble Maker:  Choose a Raffle Ticket for your project. The Tickets will offer a choice of four project themes - Anniversary, Father's Day, Birthday/Newborn, and Graduation.

Thing 3 Twisted Sister: My optional twist is to use Kraft or Kraft-type paper and/or a brown paper bag somewhere in your project.

Thing 2 Double Trouble: This is an option to link your project with any of DTC's previous partners using a project inspired by the TSOT Sketch.

Here's my card - I chose the Birthday them for Thing 1; for Thing 3, I used kraft paper and I didn't link my card anywhere else, so I didn't follow the challenge for Thing 2.

For the coffee cup, I used Avery Elle's Cool Beans stamp set. I stamped the take-out cup on some white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the sleeve and sentiment on a kraft envelope that I'm re-using. I fussy cut the images out and I added a bit of coloring to the take-out lid with Copic W3. For the lower panel, I started with a tone-on-tone patterned paper and one stencil from Stampers Anonymous' Time Holtz Mini Stencil Set #3 - the coffee stain one. I used the stencil with distress inks - gathered twigs, ground espresso and cut four 3 1/4" x 1" strips. For the horizontal band, I used the same kraft envelope and cut a strip 4 1/4" x 3/4". I found some other tone-on-tone patterned paper for the top panel. I assembled all the elements onto a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your creations in our gallery.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #468

If you're looking for a bit of inspiration, we have a new challenge starting at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Here's my card

For my birthday card, I used Unity Stamp's Love Bug stamp set. I stamped the car onto some "groovy" patterned paper and I fussy cut the image. I was going to adhere the car to a natural A2 card base but the car "disappeared". Instead, I added a panel of medium gray cardstock and glued the car to that. It definitely helped the car pop. For the sentiment, I used a scrap of polka dot paper and I stamped the sentiment (although I can't remember which stamp set I used - oops). I glued the sentiment strip to the gray cardstock and adhered the gray cardstock to the natural A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your Birthday card submissions in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #577

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the new sketch

Here's my card

This card is mostly about patterned paper. I used three papers from a 6x6 paper pack and cut the pieces similar to those in the sketch. Instead of the three horizontal pieces, I used one piece with a variety of lines. To cut the oval, I used Echo Park's Stitched Oval Nesting die set. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental and Hero Arts Field Greens ink on some natural ink. I trimmed it and cut two fish-tail banners. I adhered the pieces to a natural A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you interpret our sketch in our Gallery.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Honey Bee Stamps' Special Stamp Set for Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine 2022 and Always on My Mind stencil (4 layers) which I received as part of Crop & Create Delivered, Fall 2022. I stamped the image and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I added color with the stencils and mowed lawn, picked raspberry and wilted violet distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Furry Cat & Box stamp set and heat embossed it, also with gold embossing powder. I attached the A2 panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Die Cut Divas ~ Monochromatic Challenge with Waffle Flower

It's May and our challenge for this month is

MONOCHROMATIC

Our sponsor this month is Waffle Flower. They will be giving our winner a $15 gift certificate. Thank you to Waffle Flower for their generosity.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with Waffle Flower's Dotted Flowers dies. I die cut the three sizes of flowers and two sizes of leaves from a dark gray cardstock. I used DMC embroidery floss 414 which matched perfectly to the cardstock. Sometimes it pays not to throw things out as I have quite a collection of DMC flosses - a nod back to my cross-stitch days. I stitched up the die cuts using some double sided adhesive to hold the ends in place on the reverse side. I used the same shade of gray cardstock as the A2 background and a piece of patterned paper cut to 3" x 4 1/4". I used Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments and Gina K Design's Slate ink for the sentiment. I arranged the flowers and leaves on the patterned paper and glued them in place. I used double-sided tape to adhere the patterned paper in place and also to adhere the A2 panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your monochromatic cards, remember to use a die cut or dry embossing on your card, in our gallery this month.
