Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #397

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is this week's sketch

I feel like this is a very versatile sketch that can be used over and over again. Here's my take on this sketch

On this dreary day, playing with "happy" patterned paper cheers me up. Ok - playing with any kind of paper cheers me up! I picked up My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing 6x5 paper pack and chose this floral paper. I cut it into three strips - 1 5/8" x 4". I grabbed a scrap of pink cardstock and cut a thin 3/4" strip. For the sentiment, I stamped the "thank you" using Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set. I then used Simon Says STAMP's Labeled with Love dies to die cut the sentiment box. I added a few adhesive pearls for a bit of shine.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Die-Cut Divas ~ November Challenge: Reminder Post

The current challenge at Die Cut Divas is sponsored by Frantic Stamper

Frantic Stamper is offering their Fall Harvest Die (value $25) as a prize. Due to shipping costs, for this month, only US residents are eligible.

The theme for our November Challenge is "Thanks or Thanksgiving".

Here's my card

I created this card, thanks to my teammate here, Cindy. She sent me the stamped and die cut flowers using Altenew's Pen Sketched Flowers, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. In addition to Frantic Stamper's own products, they also sell other companies stamps and dies, like Altenew, Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn, My Favorite Things as so many more. I added color to the image with Copic markers V04, V06, Y17, YG63. I positioned it around a frame using Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese, Again die. I stamped the sentiment using Poppy Stamp's Peony Stems and Blossoms stamp set. I adhered everything to a purple A2 card panel.

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #507: Reminder Post

We're halfway through our challenge #507 at Cupcake Inspirations. Our current challenge is

Here's my card

For my card, I used again, Catherine Pooler's Candy Cane Lane stamp set with Catherine Pooler Grass Skirt and Rockin' Red inks for the candy canes, bow and sentiment. I fussy cut the candy canes and the bow. For the bottom strip, I used Catherine Pooler's Peppermint Stick background stamp with her Rockin' Red ink. Those candy canes look almost good enough to "lick" but I'll resist - LOL!

We'd love for you to join us - Holiday Sweets: How will you be inspired?

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #507

It's time for a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. Our current challenge is

While some will think of cookies or pies, when I saw "Holiday Sweets", I immediately thought of candy. Here's my card

Look at all those candies. Ugh - my teeth are starting to hurt. LOL! For this card, I used the two sizes of candies using Catherine Pooler's Candy Cane Lane stamp set and Catherine Pooler Grass Skirt and Rockin' Red inks. I stamped the images randomly on a white A2 card base. I didn't want to cover up some of the candies for the sentiment, so I heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder on vellum. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our "Holiday Sweets" theme.

STAMPlorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop & Giveaway

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Welcome to the 6th STAMPlorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop & Giveaway! Despite how crazy our lives have become living with the COVID 19 pandemic, there is still much to give thanks for. I love that STAMPlorations holds this blog hop and giveaway to remind us of that.

Here's my card

For my card, I masked off a vertical area on the left side of a white A2 card with Post-it Tape. I used some of the images from STAMPlorations' Wonderfall Time stamp set and stamped some of them multiple times. I then added color with an ink blending tool and distress inks (mustard seed, carved pumpkin, ripe persimmon). I carefully removed the Post-it Tape. I then stamped the sentiment, the "you" with Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe ink. I also stamped "thankful for" with Versafine Onyx Black ink ... but it was slightly crooked and it bothered me. Time to be nimble and go with plan B. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of black cardstock with Versamark ink and then I used white embossing powder and heat set it. I trimmed the scrap and adhered it to the card, covering the original "thankful for". Phew - saved the card! Truth be told, I like it better.

There are prizes!

Blog Hop Prizes: 3 winners of a $15 prize code randomly drawn from comments left on the STAMPlorations blog and the participant designers' blogs

Giveaway Prizes: 2 winners - their choice of STAMPlorations' products with a combined MSRP value of up to $25 and 1 winner - their choice of STAMPlorations' products with a combined MSRP value of up to $50

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #484

Hi! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our new challenge

I chose to use the inspiration word, MERRY on my card. Here's my card

For the tag, I cut some light kraft into a 2" strip and for the top of the tag, I used Stampin' Up's Ornate Tag Topper punch. I stamped the sentiment using Catherine Pooler's Candy Cane Lane. I masked off the word "MERRY" and stamped the top 3 lines with Hero Arts Field Greens ink and then masked off the top 3 lines and stamped "MERRY" with Hero Arts Strawberry ink. I added some holly and berries using the same inks and Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Joy set. I added some shiny silver ribbon to the tag. I used a strip of patterned paper with similar colors to those on the tag. I adhered everything to an A2 green panel.

How will you be inspired? Will you use the inspiration word "MERRY" or the sketch or both?

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #395

It's Monday, at least for a few more hours, and it's time for a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Here's my card

I was feeling in a watercolour mood. I found a small strip of plaid cardstock. It was the colour inspiration for my card. I picked up a water brush and used distress inks (worn lipstick, festive berries, scattered straw) and created the horizontal stripes on an A2 sized panel of 96 lb bristol. The sentiment is from Simon Says STAMP's Big Scripty Greetings. I die cut the sentiment using a Sizzix circle die. I matted using a bright pink cardstock and a Spellbinders scalloped circle die. I added a few adhesive pearls and a gold cord bow to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #506 Reminder Post

There is still some time to join the current challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. Our challenge is a color challenge

Here's my card

I started by cutting 1.75" x 4" pieces of red, orange and yellow cardstock and adhered them to a natural A2 card panel. I then rubbed my anti-static tool over the colored cardstock. I then stamped Simon Says STAMP's Floral Bliss with Versamark ink. I used silver embossing powder and heat set the image. I found that the strips tended to warp a bit with the heating. I think that a better way to have made this card, would have been to heat emboss the image on A2 size panels of red, orange and yellow and then cut the panel down to strips. Nonetheless, I placed the card under some heavy paper and the panel flattened out. I then heat embossed the sentiment with the same silver embossing powder. The sentiment is from Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set.

Hoping that you're inspired to join us.

Here's my card

I started with an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. I scribbled some light carmine Zig Clean Color Real Brush marker in the center of the panel. With a water brush, I spread out the color. I trimmed the panel down and matted with black cardstock. To complete the card, I added a few sequins for a bit of shine.

Die Cut Divas ~ November Challenge

Welcome to my blog. There's a new challenge at Die Cut Divas. The theme for our November challenge is "THANKS or THANKSGIVING". This month's challenge is sponsored by Frantic Stamper

The prize is the Fall Harvest Die (valued at over $25). Due to shipping costs, only US residents are eligible.

Here's my card

I started by randomly inking up some white cardstock with distress oxides - spiced marmalade, fossilized amber, ripe persimmon, vintage photo and fired brick. I then die cut the "thank you" using My Favorite Things Die-Namics Thank You dies, which at last check were still available at Frantic Stamper. I used a natural A2 card panel and added some pumice stone distress ink in the center of the panel. I stamped a few foliage outlines using Hero Arts Flowers for Coloring stamp set and spiced marmalade and fossilized amber distress inks to frame the center of the panel. I adhered the letters within the frame formed by the foliage outlines. To complete the card, I trimmed it down slightly to mat with burnt sienna cardstock and I added a few sequins for a bit of shine.

We'd love for you to join us this month.

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #506

It's time for a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.

Here's my card

I've been enjoying the beautiful colors of fall and this color challenge of yellow, orange, red reminded me of the gorgeous fall leaves. For my card, I started with watercolor paper, trimmed to an A2 size. I stamped leaves using Altenew's With Gratitude stamp set and Antique Linen distress ink. I added yellow, orange and red using Michael's Artist's Loft watercolor paints and a water brush. I liked how if the paint was "watered down" enough, the veins of the leaves would show through. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Flower Friend stamp set and Hero Arts Butter Bar, Orange Soda and Strawberry inks. I trimmed the panel down slightly and matted with orange to complete the card.

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

I'm very excited to be sharing my tag and representing STAMPlorations at Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Here's my tag

I started by die cutting the tag using STAMPlorations CUTplorations Tags #1 Nesting Dies from kraft cardstock. I then stamped the evergreen bough repeatedly using STAMPlorations Christmas Bell Medley stamp set and Hero Arts Emerald Green ink. I then rubbed my anti-static bag over the tag and heat embossed with silver embossing powder the Christmas ornament (three times) as well as the sentiment, using the same Christmas Bell Medley stamp set. To complete the tag, I used a ruler and silver gel pen for the ornament strings and added some silver cord.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #482

Are you ready for a new challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday? Here's the challenge sketch

Optional theme: wreath/foliage

Here's my card

For this card, I used Paper Smooches' Holly dies to die cut the holly leaves from a selection of green cardstock and used a regular hole punch and some red cardstock for the berries. I tried to "eyeball" a wreath, adhering the holly leaves into what I thought was a circle - WRONG! I die cut a circle using Sizzix circle dies from a light kraft cardstock and stamped the sentiment in the center using Catherine Pooler's Here We Come-A-Caroling stamp set and Hero Arts strawberry ink. I then tried again, this time, adhering the holly leaves and berries to the circle, arranged around the sentiment. This was much better! I found a scrap of tone on tone patterned paper for the fish-tail banner. I used a light green and the same light kraft cardstock for the background.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #393

Happy Monday to you! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is this week's sketch

Here's my version of the sketch

When I saw the sketch, I thought of a sunrise (or sunset). I started with My Favorite Things Sun Ray stencil and added distress inks - mustard seed and squeezed lemonade. For the sentiment, I found a scrap strip of dark gray and stamped the sentiment using Technique Tuesday's Bring On the Sun stamp set.

What I love about sketches, is that you can make it as simple or as embellished as you like. It's how you "see" the sketch.

Hope you're inspired to join us

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #505 Reminder Post

It seems like just yesterday that I posted about Challenge #505 at Cupcake Inspirations

However, it has already been a week! I have this feeling that time is going to speed up from now until Christmas. Yikes - I have so much to do. Guess it's time to start my list of things to do before Christmas.

Here's my reminder card. I hope it inspires you to join us.

I stamped this super cute monster from Your Next Stamp's Way Cool Monsters stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Before I started added color to the monster, I found a strip of striped patterned paper that I was going to use - it's Basic Grey Oh Baby Boy. I've been hoarding this paper for so long. It's time to use it - right? I used the colors from this paper to add color to the monster. I used Copic markers - B12, R22, YG03, YR04. I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Circles STAX to die cut the monster, holding his sign. I added googly eyes (of different sizes, of course) to my monster. I adhered everything to a blue A2 card panel.

Rainbow Card Challenge ~ November Challenge

It's a new month. Happy November! It's time for a new challenge at Rainbow Card Challenge. This month our challenge is

Isn't this a beautiful color? Here's my card

For my card, I went through some of my 6x6 paper packs and selected patterned paper that was blue/sapphire. I was specifically looking for tone on tone patterned paper. I cut the paper into strips - where the long edges were not parallel. I wanted a bit of an organic look rather than straight parallel strips of patterned paper. I adhered the strips to a dark blue A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Script Thanks die.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by the color "sapphire". Please remember to keep your card monochromatic.
