House of Cards May 2016 Challenge

Is it just me or is 2016 flying by? How could it possibly be May, already? Well, the calendar tells me that it is May 1st, so there must be a new challenge at House of Cards

This month, the challenge is a clear papers challenge




Here's my card

I have to admit - I love using gold heat embossing on vellum and adding colour with copics on the reverse side. I absolutely fell in love with this card created by Virginia Lu



I used the Tall Flowers cling stamp by Hero Arts, with versamark ink and gold embossing powder. I used a "heavy weight" vellum as I find that it handles the heat embossing pretty well. I do try to heat up the heat tool before applying it to the vellum. I tend to move the heat tool quite a bit to try to avoid "warping" of the vellum. I coloured the reverse side of the vellum with copics, added a nest of gold thread and a gold embossed sentiment from Simon Says STAMPS Many Thanks stamp set.
