I used this MFT Stencil. I masked off each diagonal row to add individual bands of colour with ink blending tools and distress inks.

I die cut the sentiment from this die set.

Of course, I added a few sequins, well, because I could!

I masked off a strip with post-it tape and with ink blending tools added distress inks (twisted citron, peacock feathers and faded jeans).

I removed the post-it tape and added the staff of music from this CAS-ual Friday stamp set. I flipped the sketch to landscape and moved the sentiment to below the "strip".

'Friendship is Golden'

If you've checked out my blog, you'll see various versions of this card. I love the look of gold heat embossing on vellum while adding colour on the reverse side with copic markers. I chose to make a card for a friend, while at the same time focusing on using gold.

I used this Hero Arts Tall Flowers stamp.

The sentiment is from this Simon Says STAMP stamp set which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

I placed white cardstock behind the vellum to accentuate the colours. I matted the sentiment strip and the entire panel with gold cardstock.

A Blog Named Hero - Metallic Challenge

I was inspired by this Jennifer McGuire video

I masked off my cardstock panel with post-it tape. Using ink blending tools, I added distress inks - broken china, peacock feathers and faded jeans. For the metallic sheen, I covered the inked area with Perfect Pearls - pewter. Here's a close-up

I removed the post-it tape mask and embossed the panel with this embossing folder.

 
I die cut the sentiment from black cardstock with this The Stamps of Life die set.

 
I added a few sequins, well, because I could. LOL!

Ellen Hutson: the CLASSroom - August Mix It Up Challenge with Clearly Besotted

Here's my card

It's for the challenge at Ellen Hutson: the CLASSroom

The August Mix It Up Challenge is to combine Essentials by Ellen products with Clearly Besotted products. 

I used this Ellen die set and was feeling a bit ambitious, so I cut flowers out of two colours - one for the outline and one for the "inner" pieces. Some of those pieces are small! 

The sentiment is from this Clearly Besotted set.

colourQ Challenge #303

Here's my card

It's for the current challenge at colourQ

I coloured this Hero Arts stamp with markers in a somewhat random fashion. I spritzed water a few times then stamped onto heavyweight cardstock.

I chose to add a dry embossed Early Espresso piece of cardstock (stripes), a thin Pumpkin Pie strip, a sentiment and scalloped oval to complete the card.
