CASology Week 299

It's been awhile since I've found time to make cards for various card challenge blogs. This week, at CASology where the cue card is

I was thinking Marine, like a branch of the US military, the US Marine Corps and I realized that I didn't have anything that I could do that was military-inspired. Then I saw the great inspiration provided by the design team and realized that marine could also refer to ocean life.

Here's my card

I started with the background using Hero Arts Mermaid Sea Waves stencil and distress inks (peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon) applied randomly with ink blending tools. For the fish, I used The Alley Way's Sea Mates and Gill-Friend stamp sets, inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with copic markers and fussy cut them. The sentiment is from Sunny Studio Oceans of Joy stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by

  1. Living in the shadow of Camp Pendleton, I thought military when I first saw the cue word, too. Love your stenciled ocean background! Thanks for sharing with us at CASology this week, Sue!

  2. I also thought marines first, but had nothing! Love your take with the colorful tropical fish and that very fun ocean. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.

  3. Wonderfully sweet Birthday fishes ... and soft stencil background. Thanks for joining in the fun as CASology this week.
