Super fun card to be inspired by at Muse created by Tracey McNeely




I was inspired by

• the hippo
• the hippo pun-ny sentiment
• the sketch - image bottom right, sentiment on left
• the sentiment embossed with white on black banner
• use of foam tape
• soft blue background

Here's my card

I used Essentials by Ellen's Wish Big stamp set. I masked off the hippo and bird to add some tumbled glass distress ink for the background. I coloured the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I popped both the sentiment and balloon up with foam tape. I drew the balloon ribbon using a fine tip black marker.

AAA Cards: CAS Game #96 - Summer Fun

Joining in with the gang at AAA Cards for their current challenge





Here's my card

I used Lawn Fawn's Life is Good stamp set. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added colour with Copics. I trimmed the images to be equally wide and varied the heights. I felt that a kraft background was appropriate for a summer "beach" card. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Christmas Card Throwdown August Theme Challenge

Here's the current theme challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown.




This challenge really challenged me to think "outside the box". I know that there are some cute stamp sets with Santa on surfboards and other tropical Christmas sets. I don't own any of those. So I thought that I'd have to pass - then inspiration struck. Here's my card

I stamped the palm tree from Lawn Fawn's Life is Good stamp set and coloured them with Copics. I used the tree decorations from Neat & Tangled Bright Baubles stamp set, stamped in different non-traditional colours. I think that I was able to create a tropical Christmas tree. The sentiments is from the Neat & Tangled stamp set.

Here's my card

I stamped this cute fish from Avery Elle's that Bites stamp set with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with Copics. I fussy cut the fish out and used glossy accents on it's eye. For the background circle and right strip, I inked up some cardstock with distress inks (mermaid lagoon, salty ocean, faded jeans). The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Super fun challenge at Simon Says STAMP Wednesday Challenge this week

This week the challenge is

For A Child 

This week we are showcasing Neat and Tangled Products. You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

Here's my card

I started with Your Next Stamp's Blast Off stamp set. I stamped the rocketship image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured the image with Copic markers. I masked off the rocket ship and added faded jeans and chipped sapphire distress ink with ink blending tools. I added some spatter with Gansai Tambi Pearl colors - with a wet paint brush, I picked up some silver pearl paint and put it on an acrylic block. With the paint brush, I flicked the paint onto my panel (to look like sparkly stars). I removed the mask and die cut the panel with a circle die. I popped this up with some fun foam. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. i think that a child or someone young at heart would like this card.

Here's my card

I love bright colours. So I pulled some out for this week's card. I started with STAMPlorations' ARTplorations Ethnic Organic 2 stencil. I added distress inks (mustard seed, spiced marmalade, picked raspberry) in a random way. The sentiment is from Simon Says STAMP Big Scripty Greetings stamp set put on a die cut 1.75" circle cut from a scrap of bright pink cardstock.

a2z Scrapbooking August 14th post

If it's the 14th of the month, then it's my turn to post over at a2z Scrapbooking. Our current challenge is 



Here's my card - I think that it fits the bright and beautiful challenge

I inked up a 96 lb bristol card front with distress inks (wilted violet, ripe persimmon, barn door, picked raspberry, carved pumpkin). I spritzed the Hero Arts SA073 Asian Flower stencil and placed into onto the inked panel. I let the stencil sit for a bit. I carefully lifted the stencil and dried up any little puddles with some paper towel. I trimmed the panel and added an orange panel to make the card. The sentiment is from Hero Arts CM124 Color Layering Fuchsia. I added a thin strip of purple cardstock to complete the card.
