Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge ~ Challenge #423

WOW! It's the last day of May. Where does the time go? I sure am happy that the days are still getting longer and that it's almost tank top and shorts weather!

It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's our sketch

Here's my card

For my card, I used Simon Says STAMP's Swirls and Dots stencil. I inked up three panels trying to keep the alignment and positioning of the stencil the same. I used distress inks - mustard seed and carved pumpkin on the first; twisted citron and cracked pistachio on the second; shaded lilac and salty ocean on the third. I trimmed each panel the same, into three pieces. I took one piece of each panel to create my card. I can, in fact, make two more cards using the same sketch. For the central part, I inked up a scrap of white cardstock with mustard seed and carved pumpkin. I then used Memory Box's Rhone Butterfly Wings die to die cut the butterfly. I used a scrap of black to die cut the body and antenna. I cut down a piece of vellum and adhered the butterfly to it. For the sentiment, I used a STAMPlorations clear sticker from the New Day sticker pack and also adhered it to the vellum. I adhered the vellum to the card front to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

New month; new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge

Here's my card

I started this card with an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. I added some splotches of colour using distress inks (cracked pistachio, fossilized amber, salty ocean), some water and a paint brush. I added the colour until I knew that my stamped image would be in the coloured area. I waited until the panel was dry and then stamped the image using STAMPlorations' Blossom Sprays #1 and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I found that the panel ended up a bit wavy, so I placed it under a ream of paper to flatten it out. For the sentiment, I used Mint Owl Studio's Banner Sentiments I and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your watercolour creations.

I'm here to remind you of our STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party

Here's my card

For my card, I stamped many of the super fun trees using STAMPlorations Gratitude Trees stamp set using Versafine Onyx black ink onto a white A2 card panel. I decided to pull out my Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils to add color. I used three pencils - light aqua, lilac and light cerulean blue. I used a blender pencil to smooth out some of the pencil lines. For the sentiment, I used one of STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Happy Happy clear stickers, adhered to a small piece of vellum. I was a bit concerned that I might not place the sticker straight, if I had tried to adhere it directly to the card panel. So I went with the vellum to help with that anxiety. That's my card!

And there are prizes! There will be three winners of a $7 prize code randomly selected from comments both on the STAMPlorations blog and all the designers' blogs. Also, there will be two winners of a $12 prize code and one winner of a $25 prize code for linking up your spring inspired project at the end of the STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party post. Here's my card

For my card, I started with the bloom using CASual Fridays Stamps Mon Ami stamp set. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added come color with Copic markers B00, B02. I then fussy cut the image. With a scrap of light gray cardstock, I die cut the square with My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX Die-namics and adhered the bloom to it. I dug through my collection of washi tape for some blue washi. I added a strip of black and white chevrons to add a bit of interest. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set onto a scrap of light blue cardstock, which I trimmed down to a rectangle.

Addicted to Stamps & More ~ Challenge #406

Hey Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! For the next two weeks, the challenge will be

Here's my card

For my card, I started by stamping these cute posies using Altenew's Petite Posy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color B13, BG15, R32, R35, YG63, YG67. I then die cut them with the matching die. I created the center panel with some light cream cardstock, matted with black. I used a clean sticker for the sentiment using STAMPlorations Happy Happy clear sticker pack. I found some tone-on-tone patterned paper for the background. I adhered the flowers on opposite corners of the center panel to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you "make your mark"!

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #508

Hi! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday Here is our new sketch.

Optional Theme: Flowers

Here's my card

For my card, I dug out an old Stampin' Up set called Oh, So Lovely. It's a wood-mount set so I had to be a bit creative to get the two impressions - the linen-like background and the flowers to line up. I couldn't use my MISTI for this one. For the background, I used Hero Arts Soft Granite ink and for the flowers outline, I used Hero Arts Charcoal ink. I added a bit of color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers - Light Violet and Light Carmine. I trimmed the panels down and matted with dark gray cardstock. I found a scrap of a striped patterned paper which I trimmed to 3/4" x 4.25". For the sentiment, I changed the triangle to a scalloped circle. I used Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set and the Hero Arts Charcoal ink again. I punched the sentiment with Stampin' Up's 1.5" circle punch. For the scalloped mat, I used Stampin' Up's scalloped circle punch. I adhered everything to a light purple A2 card panel to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our current sketch.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #198

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. The challenge for the next two weeks will be

Here's my card

I started my card by heat embossing with white embossing powder and Impression Obsession's cover-a-card Flourishes stamp. I then applied cracked pistachio distress ink with an ink blending tool. I applied more ink and more pressure towards one end of the panel and lightened up the pressure as I moved towards the other end of the panel. I found it easiest to always start at one end, so more ink was applied there. I trimmed the panel to 1.75" x 5.5". For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Script Thanks die and some scraps of cardstock.

We'd love to see your ombre creations.

STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Welcome to STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party

I have a card for you

Have you seen STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Quick Cards #3 - Spring Florals A2 Card Fronts? They are amazing watercolour floral card fronts, printed on 130 lb cardstock. All the hard work is done for you and they are gorgeous. I can see if you need a card in a hurry, you could stamp a sentiment or use one of STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Clear Stickers. Ta da - you'd be done! All I know is that my watercolouring isn't as nice as these card fronts.

For my card, I used one of the Quick Cards #3 card fronts. I then used a scrap of 96 lb bristol and my Recollections Artist's Loft Watercolour Paints to blend some similar colours to those of the card front. I focused on the blue and purple shades. When the scrap was dry, I die cut the sentiment using STAMPlorations CUTplorations Thanks word die. I adhered it in the "open" white space. The card was simple to put together but looks like I worked harder than I did.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #421

Where does the time go? I can't believe that Monday is almost over. There are a few hours of the day left here on the West Coast. It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is this week's sketch

Here is my card

For my card, I embossed some white cardstock with Sizzix/Stampin' Up's Stripes embossing folder. I trimmed it to 2.5" x 4.25". I adhered it to a white A2 card base. Next, I used a scrap of gray cardstock and Stampin' Up's Scallop Trim border punch and adhered this piece to cover the edge of the embossed panel. For the foliage, I randomly inked up a large scrap of white cardstock with ripe persimmon, spiced marmalade and mustard seed distress inks. I then used Memory Box's Large Olive Branch to die cut the foliage, which I adhered with liquid adhesive. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

We're half way through May? Wow, time sure does fly when you're having fun! I'm here to remind you of the current challenge at STAMPlorations CAS

Here's my clean and simple card

For this card, I started with STAMPlorations Hope Blooms stamp set and stamped this image onto 96 lb bristol with Versafine onyx black ink. I added color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (yellow, carmine red, light green) and moved the color with a water brush. I trimmed the focal image and adhered it to the white A2 card. I stamped the sentiment vertically using STAMPlorations Wonderfall Time stamp set and Versafine onyx black ink.

Perfectly CAS ~ May Challenge

I admit it. I love making clean and simple cards. There is something calming (usually) about clean and simple cards. At least there is when your idea works out! LOL!

We have a new challenge at Perfectly CAS.

Here's my card

For my card, I used the repeat stamping technique, with different colours. I used a multi-leaf stem from Hero Arts Garden Flowers by Lia and Hero Arts inks - butter bar, green hills, cornflower, orchid, pale tomato, soft cantaloupe. I stamped them in rainbow order around the bottom left corner of a white A2 card base. I curved the stems around the area where I would put my sentiment. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Salutations stamp set, stamped with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. This is my one-layer card for this month.

We'd love for you to join us. Please remember that only up to one-third of your card can be "covered".

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #405

Hi Crafty Friends! We have a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!. For the next two weeks, the challenge will be

Here's my card

I used the beautiful Pinkfresh Studio's Seamless Floral Panel layered stencil with distress inks (ripe persimmon, picked raspberry, candied apple, bundled sage and peeled paint) applied with an ink blending tool. The layered stencils by Pinkfresh Studio is so easy to use. There are marks on the stencil to help align it on an A2 card panel. The stencils are numbered to help you ink your panel "in order". For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Thanks frame die with some scraps of cardstock. I popped up the sentiment for a bit of dimension.

We'd love to see your stencil &/or die cut creations.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #506

Hi Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Here's our sketch for the next two weeks.

Optional theme: rainbows
Here's my card

When I first saw the sketch, I was thinking of a sunrise or sunset card. However, I had recently received Scrapbook & Cards Today's exclusive SCT Delivered Online Card Class 2021 stamp set and dies which included this rainbow and this sentiment. I knew that I needed to play with this more. For the Online card class, they also supplied the cardstock to die cut the parts of the rainbow. For the sentiment, I used two colors of ink, carefully masking the sections. I used Hero Arts Soft Granite and Pale Tomato inks.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Die Cut Divas ~ May Challenge

We have a new challenge at Die Cut Divas this month. Our sponsor this month is CASual Fridays Stamps

They will be giving our winner a $20 gift code

Our challenge this month is a tic-tac-toe challenge. Here's the grid

For my card, I chose the diagonal line from upper left to lower right - uneven edge, friendship, flowers.

I started my card by stamping the flower image using CASual Fridays Stamps' Mon Ami stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers Y02, Y06. I fussy cut the image. I die cut the gray stitched circle with My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Circle STAX dies. The friend sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped with Hero Arts Soft Granite and Dandelion inks. For the uneven edge, I found a patterned paper and tore one edge.

We'd love for you to join us this month using our fun tic-tac-toe board for inspiration.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #197

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. For the next two weeks, our challenge is

Isn't this an interesting code word? I went searching through my stamp stash until I found some bugs on a stamp set. I ended up with Your Next Stamp's Bitty Bugs. Here's my card.

I stamped this inch worm on a white A2 card panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers C2, G05, G07, YG06. I also made a mask of the inch worm by stamping onto a post-it note and fussy cutting it out. On a white A2 card panel, I covered the inch worm with the mask and added clouds using Simon Says STAMP's Clouds for Days stencil and distress inks (tumbled glass, shaded lilac, spun sugar, twisted citron) and the hill using Simon Says STAMP's Waves and Hills stencil with peeled paint distress ink. On another white A2 card panel, I die cut the circle, that would serve as a window to the inch worm and clouds and hill. I also stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I wanted a bit of separation between the two white A2 card panels, so I added some white fun foam, with a die cut circle where the window is.

I'm normally not a fan of bugs, except when they are this cute! We'd love you see your bug-inspired cards.

Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge MAY

Do you like working with stencils? I love working with stencils. Often, they make me look more talented because someone talented designed the stencils, I just have to add colour. We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge

Here's my card

See what I mean? It looks like I planned and placed all the leaves and petals. But no, what I did was use Pinkfresh Hanging Garden stencils (5 layered stencils). The stencils are numbered and there are markings to help you align the stencils. All one has to do is add color. I used distress inks (tumbled glass, peacock feathers, peeled paint, ripe persimmon, mustard seed). For the sentiment, I used Ink Blot Shop's Botanical Borders stamp set and Hero Arts Tide Pool ink. That's it - a one-layer card!

Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge MAY

How are you doing? The COVID 19 restrictions have put a bit of a damper on my life. However, I understand the importance of flattening the curve. For me, a way to do this, is stay home and craft!

We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge

Here's my card

I looked around my stash for a mistletoe stamp or mistletoe-like stamp. I found this one in Stampin' Up's Easy Events stamp set. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added a bit of color with Copic markers - R46, YG63, YG67. While I realize that mistletoe doesn't have red berries. I wanted to use traditional Christmas colors on my card - so red and green. I like that the stamp included the sentiment so that I didn't have to struggle to get it "straight". I trimmed the panel to 2.5" x 2.5" and matted the square with dark green. I decided to use a kraft A2 card panel for the background. I felt that the card needed a little something something - you know what I mean? I looked around and found some wide shiny ribbon and used that behind the stamped panel.

We'd love to see your creations.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #419

Oops, I missed posting on Monday. It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch for this week's challenge.

Here's my card

For this card, I went with a black, white, gray color palette with a "pop" of pink. I went through my black, white and gray patterned paper scraps to find four different patterns. I cut fish tail banners from three of them and a thin strip from the fourth. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches' Salutations stamp set and a Spellbinders' Labels 8 die. I adhered everything onto a light gray A2 card base.

STAMPlorations ~ Sticker Monday

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

I'm so excited to have the opportunity to participate at Sticker Monday at STAMPlorations. I have three cards that I've made using the amazing Clear Stickers by STAMPlorations. There are so many to choose from, from sentiments to washi tape to colored backgrounds. I will say one thing. They are incredibly sticky. Once it starts to adhere, you're not going to be able to move it. Trust me, I've tried. What I find works for me, is to cut the sticker out, remove a bit of the backing, line the sticker up and then remove the backing. Hopefully, the sticker adheres where you want it to!

Here's card #1

For this card, I die cut a white A2 panel with STAMPlorations CUTplorations Happy word die. I added the word thoughts using STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Shine Bright sticker. The sticker actually says "happy thoughts". I just cut the word "thoughts" out for this card. I guess I have a spare "happy" sticker for another day! On a white A2 side folding card base, I adhered several strips of washi tape stickers using STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Bits of Washi #2. I placed the washi tape stickers so that they would be visible through the die cut sentiment. I also made sure to adhere all the little bits from inside the letters, using the die cut "happy" as a guide. I adhered the front panel to the card base and voilà, the card is complete.

Onto card #2

For this card, I started with a natural A2 card base. I adhered some of STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Bits of Washi #2 clear stickers, arranged somewhat vertically in the bottom right quadrant of the card panel. For the sentiment, I had a scrap of cardstock where I had used a gelli plate and tumbled glass and salty ocean distress inks. I die cut the scrap using STAMPlorations CUTplorations Kudos word die. I also cut 3 more "kudos" with black cardstock which I used to stack to give the sentiment some dimension. I used a fine black marker to hand-draw the frame.

Finally, card #3

I've been experimenting with my gelli plate. For this background, I used twisted citron, peacock feathers, ripe persimmon, picked raspberry distress inks as well as STAMPlorations ARTplorations Art Flowers 2 stencil. When I was happy with the background, I used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Circles Flexi Template to create a mask and inked up the center of the circle with peacock feathers distress ink. When dry, I adhered the sentiment sticker from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Inspirational #4 clear sticker set. I trimmed the panel slightly so I could mat with a teal cardstock.

Rainbow Card Challenge ~ May 2021

Welcome to May! I'm looking forward to this month as I'll be getting my first COVID 19 vaccine in about a week. I'm so appreciative of all those who have been working so hard to keep us safe and for those who worked so diligently to get us vaccines against this horrible virus.

It's also time for a new challenge at Rainbow Card Challenge. This month our challenge is

Here's my card

I started with My Favorite Things Trendy Triangles stamp set and Hero Arts Cornflower ink. I stamped many triangles on white cardstock and then used My Favorite Things Die-namics Triangles to die cut the triangles. I arranged the on a periwinkle A2 card panel and adhered them when I found a design I liked. I added a sentiment using Simon Says STAMP Lots of Thanks stamp set with Hero Arts Cornflower ink.

We'd love to see your periwinkle cards.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ May Challenge

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

It's May! Crazy, right? I'm hoping that this month, I'll be able to get my first vaccine shot. With the original plan, it was supposed to be June. I'll take it, one month earlier. I have an appointment. However, knowing all the challenges with vaccine availability, I kind of won't believe it until it's in my arm. I know so many people are working so hard to keep us safe. Sure hope, COVID will be in our rear-view mirror soon.

It's time for a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS

Full disclosure, I tried a few times to create something with the optional color twist of copper and yellow. My ideas didn't turn out the way I had envisioned and actually, they ended up in the recycle bin. So, onto plan B. Here's my card.

I stuck with the yellow and just couldn't figure out how to add the copper. That's OK though. It's an optional color twist. I stamped the row of roses with STAMPlorations Row of Roses with Versafine onyx black ink on 96 lb bristol. I added color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers in Yellow and Pale Green. I moved a bit of the color with a water brush. I trimmed the 96 lb bristol to 2" x 5.5" and matted it with black cardstock. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Gratitude Trees stamp set, stamped onto a yellow A2 card with Versafine onyx black ink. I adhered the row of roses onto the yellow A2 card to complete my clean and simple card.

We'd love for you to join us this month. If you'd like to check out all of the gorgeous STAMPlorations products, you can do that here. Also, please use my 20% off your purchase code STAMPGIRLSUE
