Addicted to Stamps and More! ~ Challenge #509

There is a new challenge starting at Addicted to Stamps and More! The next challenge in our rotation of challenges is

Here's my card

I ink blended the background panel some time ago using Kat Scrappiness' Ball of Yarn stencil with distress inks - mermaid lagoon, peacock feathers, mowed lawn applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the kitty, I used Sizzix' Mischievous thinlits to die cut the kitty from black cardstock and the face from gray cardstock. I glued the face to the body and added some facial marks with a thin black marker. The sentiment uses Technique Tuesday's Kyle the Cool Cat stamp set. I trimmed the panel slightly and matted with a dark teal A2 panel. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your ANY OCCASION card(s) in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #687

It's time for a new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's the sketch.

Here's my take on the sketch

So, I rotated the sketch to make it a landscape card. For the mountains, I used Simon Says STAMP's Holiday Horizon Stencil along with distress inks - frayed burlap, hickory smoke applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the trees and cabins, I used Birch Press Design's Littletown Village die set. I die cut a bunch of trees and cabins from white cardstock and added color with Ohuhu markers E280, E463, G345, G554, WG170. I glued the roofs to the cabins and glued the cabins and trees in place, placing them in clusters, similar to the sketch. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Handwritten Sentiments stamp set. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see what you create based on our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge ~ Challenge #665

Officially, it's still Monday, at least on the West Coast. That means that it must be time for a new sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with the little squirrel and sunflower using Lawn Fawn's Sunny Squirrels stamp and die set which I received as part of my Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered Fall 2022 event box. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Ohuhu markers E357, E761, E769, G554, Y494 Y691. I die cut them with the coordinating dies and also die cut leaves using the same die set using green cardstock. I added a bit of shading on the leaves with peeled paint distress ink applied with a mini ink blending brush. I die cut a circle from cream cardstock using a Sizzix circle die and a scalloped circle using a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circle Etched die and teal cardstock. I glued the two die cuts together. I found some complementary patterned paper and cut a vertical strip, a fish-tail banner and a sentiment strip from it. I stamped the sentiment on the sentiment strip using Your Next Stamp's Cool Tag Banner Sentiments stamp set. I glued the vertical strip onto an A2 cream card base. I glued the squirrel and sunflower onto the cream circle die cut. I adhered the banner piece and then arranged and glued the scalloped circle and leaves in place. I adhered the sentiment strip in place to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #306

Welcome to our first challenge of 2026 at AAA Cards. Our challenge is a "follow my lead" challenge. We're to follow Francesca's lead. Here is her card for inspiration.

Here's my take on her sketch.

I was inspired by Francesca's placement of elements. For the horizontal element, I masked off an area and used STAMPlorations' Placid stencil with distress inks - cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, tumbled glass and mermaid lagoon applied with oval ink blending brushes on a white A2 card base. I removed the mask. Then, I stamped the fish using Simon Says STAMP's Best Fishes and Paper Smooches' Surf N Turf stamp sets and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers - B883, BG042, G289, RV687, V284, YR792 and fussy cut the fish. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Best Fishes stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I glued the fish to the ink blended area to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by Francesca's card in our gallery.

STAMPlorations ~ Pop Art Faces

We are so grateful that the owner of STAMPlorations is currently in the "no evidence of active disease" phase of her breast cancer journey. She is feeling so well that she has started to create some new paper products, for sale at STAMPlorations. These paper products are perfect for making quick, last minute cards. You can see the collection here.

Today, we are showcasing two card front sets - Pop Art Unicorns and Pop Art Faces. I was given the Pop Art Faces to work with.

Here's my first card

Honestly, the card fronts are so pretty that you don't really have to do much to turn them into a card. For this one, I die cut the sentiment using STAMPlorations' Life is Good phrase die, one using black cardstock (for the shadow) and several times using scraps of different colors that I picked up from the card front. I cut portions of the letters and adhered it to a pink base. I tried to mix up the colors. I glued the black shadow, slightly offset from the multicolored die cut and then glued it all to the front of the card front. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Here is my second card

For this card, I made a fun fold card. I simply cut the Pop Art Face card front diagonally from upper right to lower left. I cut a fun fold card base using a sheet of 100 lb white cardstock and cut it diagonally. I placed the cardstock with the right angle to the lower left and scored horizontally at 5 1/2" and verically at 4 1/4", so the top flap would fold down and the right flap would fold left. I adhered the diagonal card fronts in place with double sided tape. For the sentiment, I used a STAMPlorations' Stitched Tags - Nesting die and STAMPlorations' Radiate Happy stamp. I used some patterned paper that looked like newsprint and added some antique linen distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush for a bit of a distressed look. I added a bit of ribbon to the tag. I adhered the tag to the right side of the card (I actually remembered NOT to adhere tag to both sides of the card, which would make opening the card extremely difficult - LOL. Yes, I've done that before!).

There are a lot of good deals at STAMPlorations. It's worth checking out.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #299

OOps! I made a mistake and missed the "launch" of the first challenge of 2026 at Addicted to CAS. I had it written on my calendar as starting next Saturday. Oh well, carrying on. Our challenge is

Here's my card

For my GLASS card, I chose this stained glass window. I used The Greetery's Cathedral die to cut out the outline from white cardstock. I traced the edge of the die cut on some vellum and cut it out, just slightly inside the pencil line. I used a couple of pieces of washi tape to hold the die cut in place over the vellum. I added color to the "back" of the vellum using Ohuhu markers E287, G177, G191, R186, R193, Y295. Once complete, I glued the die cut to the front of the colored vellum "window". For the sentiment, I used Altenew's Bold Bouquets stamp and die set, which I received as part of Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered March 2023 event. I stamped and die cut the "You" word and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder, "THINKING OF" on some white cardstock. I glued the "You" die cut and trimmed the white cardstock, cutting the corners with a corner rounder. I glued the stained glass window to a white A2 card base and the sentiment to the window.

We'd love to see your GLASS cards in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ January Challenge with Sunbird Sparks

Happy New Year. Our first challenge of 2026 at Die Cut Divas has a new-to-us sponsor, Sunbird Spark. Our challenge is

USE NEW CRAFTY ITEM

Sunbird Spark will be giving our winner a $20 (Cdn) gift card to their online store. Thank you Sunbird Spark for your generosity.

Here's my card

The "new" crafty item, I used is the digital stamp from Sunbird Spark called Garden Fairy. I sized the digital stamp and sentiment and printed them with my inkjet printer. I added color with Ohuhu markers B281, BG038, E494, G284, G289, G345, R193, R295, WG150, Y494, Y585. I die cut the image with a Scrapbook.com's Nested A2 Arches die. I found some polka dot paper and used it as a background. I trimmed the sentiment to a sentiment strip. Based on the sentiment, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the fairy's wings.

We'd love to see your creations where you've used a new crafty item in our gallery.
