Die Cut Divas ~ Let's Party with Whimsy Stamps

Last day of January means a post for the last day of January's challenge at Die Cut Divas. This month we didn't have a sponsor. However Whimsy Stamps very generously is giving our winner a $15 gift voucher to their online store. Thank you Whimsy Stamps.

Our challenge for this month was to

USE SOMETHING NEW

Here's my card

For my card, I used Whimsy Stamp's Let's Party digital stamp which I had recently purchased - so it was my something new! I sized the digital stamp and printed it out with my inkjet printer. I added color with Ohuhu markers BG042, E287, G191, G284, R186, V276, Y488, Y691 and Copic marker E41. I die cut the panel using Scrapbook.com's Nested A2 arches. For the sentiment, I stamped on a scrap of teal cardstock using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages stamp set and cut the scrap down to a thin strip. I found a patterned paper for my background from my collection of patterned papers. I adhered the focal image and sentiment to a A2 panel cut from the patterned paper. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Our challenge ends at 9 pm today, Pacific time. We'd love to see how you used something new on your card in our gallery.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #485

There's a new challenge starting up at Addicted to Stamps and More! For the next two weeks, our challenge will be

Here's my card

For those who play over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, I made this for their challenge #611. I was so disorganized during the holidays, that I "accidentally" made two cards. So, I re-purposed this card for our Die Cuts &/or Stencils challenge. I started with a white A2 card panel, My Favorite Things' Oval Extraordinaire stencil and my Wendy Vecchi's Make Art STAY-tion. I added tumbled glass distress ink with an oval ink blending brush, concentrating on the edges of the oval. I die cut some foliage and flowers using Gina K Design's Foliage Fillers, Paper Smooches' Foliage 1 and Paper Smooches' Reflections Flowers die sets. For the sentiment, I stamped on a scrap of light gray cardstock using Papertrey Ink's Keep It Simple: Thank You stamp set and trimmed it to a double fish-tail sentiment strip. I glued all the elements in place and adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your die cut &/or stencil cards in our gallery.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with this cute unicorn, using Taylored Expressions' Be U-nicorn stamp set. I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the center of a white A2 panel and added color with Ohuhu markers E194, E293, MG011, R192, V891, Y295 and Copic marker BG10, YG11. I stamped the sentiment in the cloud using the same stamp set. I adhered the A2 panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your "center focus" card in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #662

Hello Crafty Friends! I'm slowly getting back into my regular routine. Going on holiday for a month really messes with one's routines. I'm so happy to be playing at my craft table. I missed it, for sure!

We have a new challenge starting at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's the sketch.

Here's my take on the sketch. I rotated the sketch, 90 degrees to the right.

For my card, I used Pawsome Stamps' Picture Pals stamp set. I stamped the images on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Ohuhu markers BG082, E293, E761, R192, Y488, Y583, Y696, YG020. I cut the images out to about 1 5/8" x 1 5/8" - just a bit larger than the opening of the "polaroid". I added a bit of tumbled glass distress ink to the edges of the images. I die cut the "polaroids" using Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese, Again die set. I stamped the sentiments using the same stamp set onto the "polaroids" and adhered each image to a "polaroid". I found some patterned paper that went with the yellows/golds of the lion and giraffe and cut it to a 1" x 5 1/2" strip. I adhered the elements to a A2 kraft card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see what you create using our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #613

Well, it's still Monday, here on the West Coast of North America. It's the day for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch

Here's my card

I stamped the cute bunny and the medicine jar using Mama Elephant's Feel Better stamp set that I received as part of the Crop & Create Delivered Fall 2022 kit with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers BG042, E194, G191 and Copic markers C3, C5, E43. I used the coordinating die that we also received in our kit to die cut the bunny and medicine jar. The die cuts out the ends of the bunny's paws so that the medicine jar could appear to be held by the bunny. I found a striped patterned paper that went with the bunny's colors, cut a strip 5/8" x 5 1/2" and adhered it to a medium gray A2 card panel. I stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set, above the strip. To complete my card, I adhered the A2 card panel to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch. Please add your card to our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #482

I'm slowly getting back to my routine after the holidays. I'm enjoying my crafty time. We have a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. Our challenge this time is to take our inspiration from a Design Team member, Marlies. Here is the link to her blog and here is her card.

Here's my take on her beautiful card

I knew that I wanted to do a white on white card using white die cuts. I used Frantic Stamper's Love Heart die, which I die cut twice using white cardstock. I glued the two die cut together for a bit of dimension. Behind the die cut and slightly offset, I added a rectangle of white cardstock that had been embossed using Docrafts Xcut Universal embossing folder - small polka hearts. I glued these pieces in place on a white A2 card base to complete my card. In retrospect, I might have added a bit of red, like Marlies did.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by Marlies' beautiful card. Be sure to add your card to our gallery.

Addicted to Stamps and More! ~ Challenge #484

Happy New Year to my Addicted to Stamps and More! friends. We're back from our little break and we have a new challenge for you here

Here's my card

I thought I'd make an anniversary card. I haven't made one for quite some time. For my card, I started with Colorado Craft Company's Anniversary Mini stamp set. I stamped the focal image on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers - BG042, E293, G177, MG011, R186, R192, YG020. I die cut the "polaroid frame" using Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese, Again dies and heat embossed the sentiment using the same stamp set and gold embossing powder. I cut the focal panel slightly larger than the opening of the frame. I lightly brushed some tumbled glass distress ink to the edges of the focal panel and then glued it in place behind the frame. I adhered the frame and "photo" to a light gray A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your "any occasion" card in our gallery.
