Happy Little Stampers ~ April Stencil Challenge

We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge

I love playing with stencils. They are affordable and often make it look like I have some artistic skill when actually I just did some ink blending. An artistic someone did all the hard work. Here's my card

Not to brag but doesn't it look like I have some artistic skill? I don't! I used PinkFresh Studio's Seamless Floral Panel layered stencils. For each of the layers, I added color with distress inks (tumbled glass, peacock feathers, evergreen bough, twisted citron, mowed lawn) and oval ink blending brushes on a white A2 panel. I trimmed the panel slightly and matted on a light blue A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I used a sentiment die cut from PinkFresh Studio's Foiled Sentiments. For a bit more shine, I added three sequins to the card panel.

We'd love to see your stencil cards.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday ~ Challenge #550

It's Tuesday and time for a new challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. Our challenge sketch is

Here's my card

For my card, I used a mirror-image of the sketch. To make this card, I made a mask using a Waffle Flower's A2 Layers die and a post-it note. I applied the mask in the upper left corner and added color with oval ink blending brushes and distress inks - salty ocean, peacock feathers, mowed lawn. I carefully removed the mask and stamped the silhouette using Gina K Designs' Friendly Silhouettes stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I like how it looked when parts of the stamped image extend beyond the inked rectangle. For the sentiment on black, I heat embossed with white embossing powder on black, the sentiment from the same stamp set. I then die cut the sentiment using a My Favorite Things Skinny Strips die. I also stamped the word "enjoy" using Paper Smooches Birthday Sampler stamp set on a scrap of light blue cardstock. I then die cut it using a Sizzix circle die. I adhered both sentiment elements to the card panel, which I then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #467

It's Monday and time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Our sketch for this challenge is

Here's my card

Do you know about PinkFresh Studio's washi tape? It comes on a 4" wide roll with a matching die to cut out the "images". For my card, I used PinkFresh Studio's In the Meadow washi tape and matching die to die cut the various flowers, branches and leaves. I used some of the leaves, branches and a flower to adorn the white panel, cut to 2.5" x 4.25". I stamped the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I arranged the beautiful PinkFresh die cuts around the white panel. I chose a medium gray A2 panel for the background and found a scrap of polka dot paper for the horizontal stripe. I adhered everything and adhered it to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch.

Happy Little Stampers ~ April Christmas Challenge

Christmas in April? Sure, why not? Right? We have a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers ~ Christmas Challenge

Here's my card

For my card, I die cut an A2 white card panel with Simon Says STAMP's Maryanne Snowflake (2) and Alexis Snowflake dies. I also heat embossed the sentiment with CASual Friday's Snowy Sayings stamp set and silver embossing powder. I trimmed the white panel slightly. Behind the white panel, I adhered a panel of silver glitter (to comply with the optional theme of glitter) and adhered everything to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

Here's a close-up

Hope you'll join us this month with your own Christmas creations with or maybe without glitter.

Happy Little Stampers ~ April CAS Challenge

Who is ready for a new clean and simple challenge at Happy Little Stampers? Me - waving my hand emphatically (LOL!).

Here's my card

I love Hawaii and that is what I think of when I think of "tropical". I love the sun and sand but also the beautiful greenery and fragrant flowers. For my card, I used Sunny Studio's Radiant Plumeria stamp set. It's a layering stamp set so I had to dig through my inks to find several shades of green for the leaves and various pinks and purples and gold. I used Simon Says STAMP's Midnight Green, Green Leaf, Fern inks; Hero Arts Passion Flower, Lemon Yellow, Butter Bar, Orchid, Grape Juice, Moss, Green Hills, Ultra Pink, Bubblegum inks. I fussy cut the images and adhered them on a white A2 card base. I popped up the pink flower with dimensionals for a bit of depth. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Of course, once I completed the card, I realized that I also have the matching Sunny Studio Radiant Plumeria die set - oops! Going to store them together from now on. LOL.

We'd love for you to join us for our TROPICAL clean and simple challenge.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #217

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS.

Here's my card

I just received this "old" Noah's Ark stamp set by Jane's Doodles.  It's so stinkin' cute. I just had to use it for our ANIMAL's challenge. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a white A2 card panel. I added color with Copic markers - B95, BV25, C2, C3, E04, E25, E33, E43, E47, E71, E93, Y15. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set also with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I trimmed the panel down slightly and matted with black cardstock before adhering it to a white A2 card base.

We'd love to see your ANIMAL-isnpired cards.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ April Challenge

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS. This month, our challenge is

Here's my card that I hope might inspire you.

For my card, I started with an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. Since, I knew I was going to use some water, I couldn't use regular cardstock. I smooshed some salty ocean, mermaid lagoon and wilted violet onto a circular acrylic block. I spritzed it a few times and stamped it onto the 96 lb bristol. To introduce some pattern to the circle, I reached for STAMPlorations ARTplorations Tribal Weave stencil. I used a bit of washi tape to hold it in place over the circle. I then spritzed some water through the stencil. I carefully removed the stencil and picked up any drops of water with some paper towel. This resulted in a nice pattern over the circle. I didn't want to cover too much of the circle. I adhered a sticker from STAMPlorations Inspirational #3 - Clear Stickers on a strip of vellum (because frankly, I kind of struggle putting the stickers on straight and they are really unforgiving - LOL!) I adhered the vellum on the lower part of the circle. I adhered the A2 bristol panel onto a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your clean and simple card and optionally blue and purple too!
