This is one of my favorite topics. I'm pretty sure that I have more flower stamps than any other stamp. Of course, my challenge is trying to figure out which stamps to use! I chose STAMPlorations' Sketched: Tulips stamp (it's one of my favorite stamp sets and sadly, it's retired). Here's my card

I heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder on an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. I added colour with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush. I trimmed the panel and matted with bright red. I'm leaving this card without a sentiment - well, because, I didn't leave enough space for a sentiment! LOL!

Less is More Challenge #418

When I saw the current challenge recipe at Less is More, I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to use my Tim Holtz coffee stain stencil. However, do you think that I could find the stencil? I looked in all the regular spots ... but no. Then, I was looking for some cardstock for another project and lo and behold, the stencil appeared. It was a bonus because I still had time to join the challenge.

Here's my card

I used the coffee stain stencil from Tim Holtz' Layering Stencil Set Mini # 3, that includes the coffee stain stencil. I used tea dye and ground espresso, applied with an ink blending tool for the splatters and stain. For the coffee cup, I used The Alley Way Stamps' Breakfast Club stamp set. I stamped the coffee cup on a scrap of blue patterned cardstock and also on a scrap of white cardstock. I fussy cut the cup part of the patterned cardstock and adhered it to the white cardstock image. I then fussy cut the cup and handle and popped it up with dimensionals.

AAA Cards: CAS Game #164

Hi! I'm finding that with this pandemic that I'm finding more time to sit at my craft table. That's a good thing - I think it helps me "escape" the pandemic world. There's a great challenge at AAA Cards

I decided on using the "one image" part of the challenge. I couldn't think of anything that would have been inspired by TV. Here's my card

I love this "kokeshi"-like doll. I stamped the image from a stamp set I purchased several years ago and I probably threw out the packaging. There is no hint of manufacturer, nor stamp name on the set. I stamped this doll with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I added a bit of colour with Copic markers. I then fussy cut the doll. I stamped the sentiment from Waffle Flower's Konnichiwa stamp set.

CAS(E) this Sketch! Challenge #370

When I saw the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!, I wasn't too sure what to do with this sketch. I initially thought that I would "skip" this week. However, then I was inspired!

Here's my card

I cut the white pieces and then placed them on the A2 kraft card panel. I then ran them through my Big Shot with my Cuttlebug Kitchen Weave embossing folder. I find that when running papers with an embossing folder, that the individual pieces of paper "stick" together without adhesive. I felt that I needed a bit of a pop of colour. So, I grabbed a scrap of teal cardstock and stamped the sentiment from Ink Blog Shop's Botanical Borders stamp set.

STAMPlorations Spring Fling 2020

I'm incredibly honoured to be part of STAMPlorations' Spring Fling. It's a blog hop and linky party.

Here's the card I made with some new STAMPlorations' products

I started with STAMPlorations' ARTplorations Doodled Tulips stencil and distress inks -abandoned coral and peeled paint, applied with an oval makeup brush. I used some scraps of paper to help me keep the colour to the areas where I wanted the colour to be. I trimmed the panel slightly so that there is a small white mat when adhered to a white A2 card. For the sentiment, I used a clear sticker from STAMPlorations' Inspirational #1 clear stickers pack.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #367

Here's my card

I have to say, layered cards are not my forte. However, I started with Authentique's 6x6 Grace Collection paper pack. At least, for me, the hard work is done - lots of coordinating patterned papers that work together. So, I chose 5 different papers and cut them, according to this week's sketch. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Thanks stamp set and die cut it with a Sizzix circle die.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ May Challenge

How are you all doing during these "interesting" times? So far, here in British Columbia, we seem to be doing a good job of flattening the curve. I hope we can continue with social distancing and keeping the curve flat. I'm enjoying all the social distancing (I'm an introvert) and finding more time to craft. 

It's time for a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS

Here's my card

It's a one-layer clean and simple card. I masked off a 1.5" vertical strip using post-it tape. I stamped the cupcake/cake images using STAMPlorations Birthday Bash stamp set using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added colour using distress inks (spun sugar, worn lipstick) and ink blending tools. I carefully removed the post-it tape and added the sentiment from the same stamp set. I felt that I needed to add a bit more to the card. So, I grabbed some colored Prismacolor Premier colored pencils to add a bit of color to the stamped images and I added some three dot clusters with a thin black marker.
