We have a new sketch challenge for you at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's the sketch.
I adapted the sketch a bit - mostly moving the placement of the sentiment. Here's my card.
I started this card with the pink/red patterned paper. I cut four 4 1/2" x 1/2" strips and glued them to a 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of light pink cardstock. I die cut a small semi-circle using a Sizzix circle die on the lower right edge. I used dimensionals to adhere it to a light pink A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the sentiment using Concord & 9th's Gentle Spring stamp set which I received as part of Scrapbook and Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered Spring 2026 event on medium pink cardstock with gold embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment using a My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX die. I glued it in place on the A2 card panel. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.
We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

I love how you lined up the cut strips to create a completely new background pattern. It clearly expresses the clever optical illusion of turning old paper into a fresh design. It’s so CAS and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card, Sue! And I love that you used pink.
