Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #343

Hi! Welcome to a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! This week, the challenge is

I love making Christmas cards. They make me happy. Also, on a warm day here, it makes me feel cooler. Bring on the snow!

Here's my card

I used Unity Stamps' Tis the Season to be Jolly Itty Bitty stamp. I stamped the image and sentiment with Versamark, applied silver embossing powder and heat set the them. I added color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (Cool Gray I, Gray Brown, May Green, Carmine Red).

Here's a close-up of the snowman.

I trimmed the image panel to 3.5" x 5.5" and adhered it to an A2 card base. I added a strip of silver cardstock, 0.75" x 5.5" to the left to complete my card.

Please join us this week with your Holiday creation.

STAMPlorations ~ Clear Stickers - NEW!!!!

Exciting news to share with you! STAMPlorations now has clear sentiment stickers in their store. Now, clear sentiment stickers may not take the place of stamping sentiments. However, there are many situations where this sentiment stickers will make things easier. I'm involved with a non-profit where we are attempting to get people involved in making cards as a way to combat social isolation. I think that these stickers are the perfect solution for beginner card makers and those with little experience with stamping.

I've made a few cards to demonstrate how these stickers can be used.

I started by making this card using STAMPlorations Lupinus ARTplorations stencil and distress inks.

I decided to add a strip of purple cardstock for the sentiment.

I added the sentiment to complete the card.

Here's another example

I masked off an area and then used STAMPlorations Prim Triangles ARTplorations stencil with distress inks. I cut a blue rectangle for the sentiment. I could choose any of these stickers.

I chose this one and added a few sequins for a bit of shine and sparkle.

Here are the last two cards

For this card, I used STAMPlorations Tweet Love stamp set. I added color with some Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils.

For this card, I used STAMPlorations Clouds ARTplorations stencil and some patterned paper.

Here's my card

I started with an A2 card panel and stamped three butterflies from STAMPlorations Grateful Flutters stamp set. I added color with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils. I purposely chose bright colors - they make me happy! For the sentiment, I chose one from STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies 2 stamp set. I used a Kaleidacolor Spectrum Raised Rainbow Dye Inkpad to achieve the rainbow-like effect. I moved the stamp pad slightly left and right to ensure that there isn't a line between colors but rather gentle blending between the colors.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #317

It's Monday - here in Canada, it's a statutory holiday, Victoria Day, a nice three day weekend. It means that it's time for a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Image may contain: text

Here's my card

I started by stamping the flowers/leaves at the top of the card using Simon Says STAMP's Floral Bookmarking and Paper Smooches Botanicals 3 stamp sets and a little masking of the blooms. The inks used were Hero Arts Pale Tomato, Summer Sky, Grape Juice, Green HIlls, Soft Granite. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's To You With Love stamp set, stamped with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. To add some interest behind the sentiment, I used Tim Holtz' Mini Stencil Set 8 and Old Paper distress ink.

STAMPlorations - Mid May Reminder Post

It's time for a post to remind you of the current challenge at STAMPlorations CAS where this month's challenge is

Here's my reminder card

I started with the background where I used a white A2 card panel and stencilled clouds using STAMPlorations Clouds - ARTplorations stencil and tumbled glass distress ink, applied with an ink blending tool. I also stamped the pterodactyl from STAMPlorations DINO things stamp set. I added color with coloured pencils and fussy cut the image out. In order to get the eye brows and other fine details, like toes (which I couldn't fussy cut), I stamped the image onto the card panel and adhered the fussy cut bird onto the card, directly above the stamped image. For the image, I was going to adhere one of the new STAMPlorations New Day clear stickers onto the card panel. But of course, I accidentally got too close to the card panel when I wasn't ready and it was starting to adhere crooked. Boy, those stickers are really sticky and are not forgiving. Instead, I found a scrap of purple cardstock and adhered the sticker sentiment onto the scrap and trimmed it to size.
