Well, I almost forgot. It's still Monday here on the West Coast. It's time for a new sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Here's my card

I like making "Thank You" cards because I'm able to donate them to a local charity that uses them to send "thank you" messages to donors. I haven't found anywhere (yet) that will take my other cards. I started by stamping the hearts using Pink and Main's Hedgehugs stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers R29, R32, R35. I used a Sizzix circle die to cut the circle and I matted it with a lime green cardstock, die cut with a Spellbinders scalloped circle die. I found some striped paper from my stash (my favorite kind of patterned paper is striped paper) and some light green cardstock to complete the background. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages.

Cupcake Inspiration ~ Challenge #498 Reminder

Stopping by to remind you of the current challenge at Cupcake Inspirations

When I see the colors yellow, blue and white, I thought of Minions. Here's my card

For my Minion's head, I dusted off my Creative Memories' circle custom cutting system. I cut half of the circle and then with my trimmer cut my Minion's body. For the coveralls, I cut a blue rectangle, two thin blue strips for straps and punched a circle, which was trimmed for the pocket. With a fine black marker, I added the stitches. For the buttons, I used small adhesive black enamel dots. For the Minion's eye, I used 1/2", 3/4", 1" and 1.5" circle punches. For the sentiment, I used Your Next Stamp's Soaring By stamp set with Ranger French Ultramarine Archival ink. I think my Minion turned out pretty cute - what do you think?

Cupcake Inspirations ~ Challenge #498

It's time for a new challenge, this time it's a color challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.

Here's my card

For my card, I started by die cutting white flowers using Elizabeth Craft Designs Bunch of Flowers 2 die set. For the yellow centers, I didn't have a hole punch the correct size. So, instead, I used my Crop-o-dile. The centers came out curled but I was able to flatten them out. I found some blue patterned paper for the background. For the sentiment, I used Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments with Hero Arts and Hero Arts Soft Sky ink.

How will you be inspired? We'd love to see your work.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #170 ~ Guest Designer

WOW! Yup, you've read correctly. I'm the Guest Designer at AAA Cards for Challenge #170. I'm so honoured to be able to add my card to those of their Design Team.

Here's my card

While, clean and simple is definitely my style, the "maxi white space" was a challenge for me. I kept wanting to add something more. For my card, I started an A2 white card base and STAMPlorations Noteworthy 2 stamp set which is a sentiment stamp set. I chose the "choose happy" stamp and inked it with Hero Arts Pale Tomato ink. I added the three flowers using STAMPlorations Frames and Flowers stamp set and inked up with Hero Arts' Butter Bar, Ultra Pink and Simon Says STAMP's Hydrangea. I added some tiny adhesive rhinestones in the center of each flower.

I'm so appreciative of the Design Team at AAA Cards for the invitation to join them for this challenge.

Mod Squad Challenge ~ Silhouette Time

There is a great challenge at Mod Squad Challenge

THE CHALLENGE

Silhouette Time - The challenge this time is to create a card
with a silhouette as the focal!

Here's my card

I inked up an acrylic block with distress inks (tumbled glass, salty ocean, faded jeans, blueprint sketch). I spritzed generously with water and "stamped" the acrylic block onto an A2 piece of 96 lb bristol. I carefully lifted the acrylic block and soaked up the excess water with paper towel. It felt like the right side lacked some color so I repeated the process. I put the panel aside to let it dry. For the silhouettes, I used two Technique Tuesday stamp sets - Growing Wild and Wildflowers and Versafine Onyx Black ink. For the sentiment, I used Hero Arts Color Layering Tiger Lily for the "thank you" stamp. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #377

Happy Monday! Well, it's finally starting to feel like summer here on the west coast of Canada. It's still a bit cold but it's not feeling like April with its showers any more.

It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Here's my card

I started with this image from My Favorite Things You're Super stamp set. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Copic markers B12, B24, E41, E43, E47, R11, R29, Y15. I trimmed the panel to 2.25" x 4.25" and adhered it to a blue on blue patterned paper. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I matted it with yellow. I added three adhesive rhinestones to add a bit of bling.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by this week's sketch.

Our new challenge is

Image may contain: food

and can be found here.

Here's my card

I started by stamping the sprig from Penny Black's Flower Sparks onto a white A2 card panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added some pearls with Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss in Caribbean Ocean ( I love this colour!). I looked for a simple script sentiment and found it with Poppy Stamps' Peony Stams and Blossoms stamp set. I rounded the corners of the white A2 card panel with my Corner Chomper and adhered it to an A2 teal card panel before adhering it to a white A2 card base.

AAA Cards - CAS Game #168

I loved the challenge at AAA Cards. It made me think and work outside my usual comfort zone. The challenge is

Here's my card

I started by stamping the outlines of flowers and leaves using Simon Says STAMP Wild Beauty stamp set and Memento Tuxedo black ink. I created masks by stamping on post it notes and fussy cutting the images. For the flowers, I stamped the solid parts with Hero Arts Summer Sky, Pale Tomato and Butter Bar inks. For the leaves, I used Copic markers YG63 and YG67. For the sentiment, I stamped using Hero Arts Thanks A Bunch stamp set onto a scrap of yellow cardstock, which I popped up with dimensionals.

Rainbow Card Challenge ~ July Challenge

Phew! What a whirlwind. I found out early yesterday, while I was at work, that I was selected to become a member of the design team at Rainbow Card Challenge. Could I have a card ready to go that evening? Yikes - that's pressure! I thought about it all day at work and a light bulb went off. This month's challenge is

Here's my card

I reached for Sugar Pea Designs Bring On the Cake stamp set. I stamped the three parts of the cake with Hero Arts Tangerine ink and fussy cut the parts. I also stamped the streamers twice with the same ink and fussy them. I "rounded" the streamers so that when adhered to a card, it would look like they were hanging from the ceiling. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with the same ink. I popped the parts of the cake up with dimensionals.

I'm excited to be a member of the Rainbow Card Challenge team!
