Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #290

There is a new clean and simple challenge at Addicted to CAS

Here's my card

For my card, I used etched metal dies from Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered March 2021 virtual card class. I used scraps of colored cardstock to die cut the sections of the rainbow. The clouds were also part of the dies received in the event box. I glued the die cuts onto a light gray A2 card panel. I stamped the sentiment using Paper Smooches' Word Salad stamp set and Gina K Design's Soft Stone ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your RAINBOW clean and simple cards in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #677

It's Tuesday which means it's time for a new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's our sketch.

Here's my fan fold card

I used two patterned papers, a matching teal cardstock and white cardstock. I looked for instructions for a fan fold card. I tried using the measurements I found online but was not happy with the way the pieces came together. However, the instructions gave me a good starting point. I cut all the pieces and adhered them in place. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's mermaid cove ink stamped onto white cardstock. I matted with the teal cardstock and glued it in place to complete my card. It was fun to try a new style of card.

We'd love to see your interpretation of our sketch.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #643

Some how the day got away from me. It's still technically Monday here on the West Coast. Monday, means it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

The great thing about this sketch is one can create 4 cards. Let me explain. I used Spellbinders EOM Sept 2022, called Scattered Fall embossing folder with four A2 panels of different shades of teal cardstock. I embossed each panel and cut each panel into four strips. I used one strip from each shade and adhered it to a white A2 card base. For the sentiment, I die cut it using Simon Says STAMP's Script Thanks die and glued it into place. With the remaining strips, one can easily created three other similar cards altering the placement of the strips and voila, a total of four similar cards!

We'd love to see what you create with this sketch as a starting point in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #297

Time for a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. For the next fortnight, our challenge will be

Here's my card for Challenge #297. I chose to use the Optional twist of All Green.

I started with some 100 lb bristol. I smooshed some distress ink - twisted citron, mowed lawn, rustic wilderness, added a spritz of water and picked up the ink with a brush to cover the bristol paper. I kept adding ink until I liked the effect. I set the bristol aside to dry. I die cut the sprig using Poppystamps Leafy Sprig die from dark green cardstock. When the bristol dried, I cut it down to 2" x 2 3/4" and matted with the same dark green cardstock. I stamped the sentiment using Hero Arts Color Layering Bouquet stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's evergreen ink on a natural card panel. I glued the focal image in place and to complete my card, I adhered the A2 natural panel to a A2 natural card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your clean and simple creations in our gallery.

Addicted to Stamps and More! ~ Challenge #499

The next challenge up in our rotation at Addicted to Stamps and More! is

I had the perfect opportunity to create a "wedding card" for a co-worker. It certainly would qualify as ANY OCCASION. Of course, the pressure was on to create a special card. Here's what I came up with.

I started with a Spellbinders' embossing folder, Hydrangea Blooms, EOM - Feb 23. I'm glad that the embossing folders are quite large, as my mission was to create as large a card as I could so that the co-workers could sign it. I made my card 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". I cut a piece of vellum to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and embossed it with the folder. I was able to adhere the vellum with a mini dot roller to the white cardbase. I then die cut the hearts and heart outlines using white shimmer cardstock and  a Stamp Market A bit of Everything die that I received as part of my kit for Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered October 2021 event. You might be able to see the shimmer in this photo.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed with silver powder using Simon Says STAMP's Handwritten Greetings stamp set on light gray cardstock which I trimmed to a rectangle. I glued the hearts and heart outlines, as well as the sentiment strip to the vellum. To complete the card, I added some rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.

We look forward to seeing your ANY OCCASION card in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ Z Fold Cards with Altenew

Our August Challenge at Die Cut Divas is

Z-FOLD CARDS

Our sponsor this month is Altenew. They will be giving our winner a $20 gift card. Thank you Altenew for your generosity.

Here is my card

For my card, I used Altenew's Perfect Gift 3D embossing folder, 6x6 stencil (2 layers) and die set that I received as part of Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered - September 2023 event box. I started by embossing white cardstock with the 3D embossing folder. I added color using the 6x6 stencil and spiced marmalade, mowed lawn and fossilized amber distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then used the coordinating die to die cut the flower and leaves. I used a Sizzix circle die to cut an orange circle for the card front and a white circle for the inside of the card. I used Altenew's Adore You stamp set and Gina K Design's Soft Stone ink to stamp the sentiment on the orange circle. I created the Z fold white cardbase using a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of white cardstock. I scored at 4 1/4" and 2 1/8". I found some polka dot paper that worked as the background. I cut the paper to one piece of 5 1/2" x just shy of 4 1/4" and two pieces of 5 1/2" x just shy of 2 1/8". The dimensions are just shy to allow space for the folds. I adhered the patterned papers in place. Then, I glued the orange circle, only on the left side to the top left panel and glued the flower in place. I adhered the white circle for the message, directly behind the orange circle inside the card to complete my Z fold card. Here's what it looks like "flat".

We'd love to see your Z fold creations in our gallery.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #289

When life seems to be spinning too quickly for me, I slow down by crafting at my table. There is something about playing with paper that calms me. There is a new clean and simple challenge starting at Addicted to CAS. Our code word for the next two weeks is

Here's my card

For my card, I dusted off my Stampin' Up Square Postage Stamp punch. I punched squares from patterned papers in the Carta Bella 6 x 6 Flora No. 5 paper pad. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Script Thanks dies and rose metallic and vellum for the layers. I gled the squares and sentiment on a light gray A2 card panel and completed my card by adhering the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your SQUARE-inspired cards in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #676

There's a new challenge starting at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's the sketch

Here's my sketch

For my card, I changed the hexagon to a circle. I die cut a circle from white cardstock using a Sizzix circle die. To give the die cut a bit of dimension and strength, I die cut three circles. From the top circle, I die cut a heart using a Memory Box Cherub Heart die from the top circle. I cut a piece of silver holographic paper which would be visible from the heart die cut and glued it on the second layer. I glued the circle layers together. I found some rustic looking paper and cut an A2 panel. I glued the circle element to the background paper. For the sentiment, I stamped using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages stamp set on a scrap of light pink cardstock. I trimmed the cardstock to a simple rectangle and glued that in place. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch by adding your creation to our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #641

Enjoyed the long weekend, here. It is still Monday which means it's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch

Here's my card

I could see how this sketch could be a gatefold, fancy fold card. However, I chose not to do this. I found some subtle tone-on-tone patterned paper. I cut the pieces to fit the sketch. I used Gina K Design's Art Stencil - Floral and mowed lawn and picked raspberry distress inks, applied with oval ink blending brushes to two corners of the patterned paper pieces. I matted with light gray cardstock and adhered all the pieces with double sided tape. The sentiment uses Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set and Gina K Design's Soft Stone ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 cardbase also with double sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #296

It's time for a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. Here's your inspiration for Challenge #296.

Here's my card

For my card, I changed the shape from an oval to a scalloped circle. I did try to maintain the color scheme. I used Concord & 9th's Grateful Blooms stamp and die set that I received as part of Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered October 2021 event. I started by stamping the silhouette using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added color by ink blending with distress inks - mustard seed, spiced marmalade and carved pumpkin using oval ink blending brushes. I then die cut using the coordinating die. I adhered the die cut to a white A2 card base with liquid adhesive. I stamped the sentiment using Close to My Heart's Say It All Stampaganza 2017 stamp set to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you are inspired by our sketch in our gallery.
