Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #297

New clean and simple challenge at Addicted to CAS. Here's the code word

Here's my card

In case it's not obvious, I was going for a worn brass effect. I started by embossing black cardstock with Darice's Steam Punk Gears embossing folder. I dusted off my Ranger Distress Crayons - Metallic and added some crayon and moved it around with my finger. I kept adding more crayon and spreading it until I was happy with the effect. I trimmed the panel to 4" x 3" and matted with black cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's A Little Sentimental and WOW Metallic Copper super fine embossing powder and a cream A2 card base.. I adhered the panel to the card base with double-sided tape to complete my card.

We'd love to see your METALLIC cards in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #684

It's time for a new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's our sketch

Here's my card

For my card, I started with a scrap of cardstock and ink blended using distress inks - picked raspberry, mustard seed, spiced marmalade, keeping the mustard seed color towards the center and more picked raspberry along the perimeter. I die cut using a Paper Smooches' Roses die from this ink blended cardstock but also using a light teal cardstock (for the inner pieces). Using some printer paper, I traced the outside of the die and cut it out, slightly inside the pencil marks. I used this paper to glue my rose pieces in place. I found some flower-y patterned paper for the large panels, measuring 2" x 4 1/4" each. I glued them in place on a white A2 card base. I cut a strip of light teal cardstock for the horizontal strip and glued it in place. To finish my card, I glued the rose in place. I decided to leave this card without a sentiment and hope to brighten someone's day when I mail it to them.

We'd love to see what you create based on our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #657

Happy Monday! In just over a month, the big guy will be arriving through chimneys around the world making children happy! Are you getting ready? We have a new challenge starting at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

I used the small rectangles using Brass & Bliss' Deckle Frame dies. Since I used a busy patterned paper, the deckle edges aren't obvious. Due to the size of the rectangles, my card ended up a mini slimline card. I glued the deckle rectangles to a blue rectangle of cardstock measuring 2 5/8" x 5 5/8" and then adhered it to a cream mini slimline (3" x 6") card base. For the embellishments, I used Birch Press Designs' Gentle Flower and Leaves Contour Layers craft dies and Poppystamps' Leafy Sprigs die. For the flower, I die cut the layers with scraps of white cardstock and added color with spun sugar and picked raspberry distress inks, applied with mini ink blending brushes. I glued the die cuts in place. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Bouquet of Thanks stamp set. I cut the sentiment strip to a double fish-tail banner and glued it to the bottom of the blue panel to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #304

Time for a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. This challenge is a sketch challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

For my card, I chose three of the images from Mama Elephant's Little Cat Agenda stamp set and coordinating die set. I stamped the images out with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Ohuhu markers BG042, R193, V284, WG150, WG170, Y397. I die cut them out. Using a 1 1/4" circle punch, I made a stencil for the three slightly overlapping circles. I added distress inks - mowed lawn, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch applied with oval ink blending brushes. I stamped the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages.

We'd love to see what you create based on our sketch in our gallery.

I used picked raspberry, cracked pistachio, mustard seed, carved pumpkin, peacock feathers and mermaid lagoon. I let the panel dry. I then stamped the image using STAMPlorations' Blossom Sprays #1 stamp set and the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set. I trimmed the panel slightly and matted with a black A2 panel. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #296

There is a new challenge starting at Addicted to CAS. Our code word for the next two weeks is

Here's my SWEET card

For my card, I used some Scrapbook.com supplies that I received as part of the kit for Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered March 2023 event. I used Scrapbook.com's Berry Sweet stamp and die sets as well as their Berry Sweet A2 patterned collection of paper. I die cut the strawberry using the die and the patterned paper in the paper pack. I die cut the leafy part of the strawberry, as well as the "sweet" word and its shadow from scraps of cardstock. I found some patterned paper that reminded me of a basket and used that for the background. I stamped the "YOU'RE SO" from the stamp set and die cut it using a die from the die set. I glued the pieces in place onto a cream A2 card base to complete my SWEET card.

We'd love to see your SWEET cards in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #683

Hey Crafty Friends! Looking for a new sketch to inspire you to get crafty? Well, we have a new sketch challenge starting at Try A Sketch On Tuesday.

While the sketch is a slimline card, I adapted it to a regular A2 card. Here's my card

For my card, I masked off a 1 1/4" vertical stripe and added distress inks in rainbow order - picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, wilted violet, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then stamped the hearts using WPlus9 Design's Little Bits stamp set and black ink. I stamped the sentiment using Simon Says STAMP's You stamp set. I die cut some small hearts using Simon Says STAMP's Mini Hearts die set from scraps of colored cardstock and glued three of them in the upper right corner. I adhered this panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you interpret our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #655

Happy Monday! Time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch

Here's my card

For my card, I used Taylored Expressions Triple Slim Layering Stencil - In The Garden along with distress inks - peeled paint, mustard seed, wilted violet, abandoned coral applied with oval ink blending brushes. I trimmed the panel slightly, matted on the top and bottom with a matching green cardstock. For the sentiment, I used Hero Arts' Year Round Sentiments and Gina K's soft stone ink. I trimmed the sentiment strip down, cutting an angle at both ends, like the sketch. I glued the sentiment strip in place. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a 3 1/2" x 5 3/4" white mini slimline card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ Critters with Lawn Fawn

Yikes, it's November. I have so much to do before Christmas. Is it me, or are there fewer hours in a day? It sure feels like that. Nonetheless, our November challenge at Die Cut Divas is

CRITTERS

Our sponsor this month is Lawn Fawn. They will be giving our winner a $25 gift card to their online store. Thank you Lawn Fawn for your generosity.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Lawn Fawn's Say What? Holiday Critters stamp set. I stamped the critters with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers B389, BG042, E280, E761, G191, G483, MG109, R586, WG150, Y583, Y593. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the critters. I also stamped the sentiment and speech bubbles and die cut them. I used some dies to die cut the slopes and added tumbled glass distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush to the top edges of the slopes. On a light teal A2 card panel, I glued the slopes in place and the critters and speech bubbles. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your CRITTER creations in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #303

It's a new challenge at AAA Cards. Our clean and simple challenge is a bit different - use the center prompt and at least, one of the remaining four prompts.

Here's my card

For my card, I used the center circle - birthday and balloon (although, it might qualify as a party, too!). I used Simon Says STAMP's Critter Crowd stamp set. I stamped the crew and the sentiment below using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers - 120, BG042, BG082, E371, E761, G191, G463, R192, WG150, Y792, YG020. With the markers, I tried to make an ombre effect with the sentiment. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape. In retrospect, I could have made this a one layer card, stamping directly to a white A2 card base. Sometimes, I'm just not sure where the card is going until I finish it.

We'd love to see your birthday creations in our gallery. Please remember to keep the card clean and simple.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #295

There is a new clean and simple challenge starting up at Addicted to CAS. Our code word for this challenge is

Here's my card

For my card, I ink blended a white panel that measured 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" with distress inks - mermaid lagoon, salty ocean and blueprint sketch applied randomly with an oval ink blending brush. When the ink was dry (I also used my anti-static powder to be sure), I heat embossed three snowflakes using Lawn Fawn's Frosties stamp set and white embossing powder. On a royal blue A2 card panel, I heat embossed the sentiment using Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes stamp set and white embossing powder. I adhered the ink blended panel to the royal blue panel with double-sided tape and then, this panel to a white A2 card base also with double-sided tape to complete my SNOWFLAKE card.

We'd love to see your SNOWFLAKE card. Please remember to keep it clean and simple!
