Addicted to Stamps and More! ~ Challenge #495

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! For the next fortnight, our challenge will be

Here's my card

For my card, I used both die cuts and stencils. I appreciate that some companies are now making stencils for coloring in images - some even layering stencils for the different colors. I used Altenew products that I received as part of Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered Spring 2025 kit. The Altenew products are Floral Laurel Outline stamp set, Floral Laurel die set and Floral Laurel simple coloring stencil set. When companies do this, it makes creating cards so much easier.I started by stamping the leafy cluster twice with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added color with the three simple coloring stencils using distress inks - tumbled glass, mowed lawn and Gina K Design's soft stone inks applied with oval ink blending brushes. I die cut both leafy clusters and glued them to a medium gray A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I used the same Altenew stamp set, stamped onto light blue cardstock and die cut with the coordinating die. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your die cut &/or stencil creations in our gallery.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #285

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. For the next fortnight, our challenge will be

Here's my card

I just love this Lawn Fawn set - Shello Friend stamp set, die set and coloring stencils, that I received as part of Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered Spring 2025 event. We also received the Lawn Fawn Oceanwave Stencil Lawn Clippings in the same kit. For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel and Pink & Main's Mask it Circle stencil and the Lawn Fawn Oceanwave Stencil Lawn Clippings. I added color using distress inks - peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon, tumbled glass, adjusting the position of the oceanwave stencil as I changed colors, applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the adorable shrimp, the hearts and bubbles, I used the Shello Friend stamp set. I added color with the coloring stencils (so easy to use). I used Concord & 9th's honeysuckle ink (light hand and heavier hand) for the two shrimp layers and for the hearts. I stamped the sentiment in the bubble before adding color. I used Concord & 9th's oceanside ink for the bubbles. I die cut the stamped images and also the bit of seaweed. I added a bit of sparkle to the die cuts with a Sakura glitter gel pen. I waited for the glitter to dry before gluing the die cuts in place. To complete my card, I adhered the A2 panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your "WATER" creations in our gallery.

Try A Sketch On Tuesday ~ Challenge #672

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Time for a new sketch challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

For my focal stamped image, I used Gina K Design's Beautiful Day stamp set, Beautiful Patterns stamp set and key lime, ocean mist and blue raspberry inks. I received the stamp sets as part of the kit from Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered September 2024 event. I stamped the leaves onto white cardstock. For the flowers, using my MISTI, I inked up the flowers stamp with ocean mist ink. I then, inked up one of the patterns from the Patterns stamp set with blue raspberry ink and "kissed" the flowers stamp with the patterns stamp so that the darker pattern ink transferred to the flowers. I then closed the door of my MISTI and got these super fun and interesting flowers. I stamped the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages stamp set with Gina K Designs' soft stone ink. I trimmed the panel and matted with a turquoise cardstock. I found some fun patterned papers from a paper pack that I used for the fun background.

We'd love to see what you create using our sketch in our gallery.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #633

It's still Monday, at least on the Pacific coast. That means it must be time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel and My Favorite Things Rectangle Extraordinaire stencil. I added color with distress inks - mustard seed, picked raspberry, tumbled glass, twisted citron, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I like where the colors overlap, new colors are 'created'. I removed the stencil and embossed using Spellbinders Embossing Folder of the Month for June 2023, called Splish Splash. I die cut using a Gina K Design's Botanical Duo die and black cardstock the floral bouquet. For the sentiment, I used an old Hero Arts stamp set called Year Round Sentiments. I stamped on teal cardstock, trimmed to a rectangle and matted with black. I glued the die cut and sentiment strip in place and to complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ Color Challenge with Poppystamps

Our June Challenge at Die Cut Divas is a color challenge. Here is our color chart.

You must use at least three of the colors, along with black/white and skin tones (on people).

Our sponsor this month is Poppystamps. They will be giving our winner a $20 gift card. Thank you Poppystamps for your generosity.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Poppystamps Mini Forest Plants die and Thank You Poe Script die. I die cut both dies from white cardstock. I added color by ink blending with Concord & 9's Cayenne, Grapefruit, Pebble, Grasshopper, Nutmeg and Sorbet inks with mini ink blending brushes. I die cut a circle using an off-white cardstock. I decided upon a dark gray A2 panel for my background. I glued the circle in place and glued the die cuts. To complete my card, I adhered the A2 panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you use the colors in our color challenge in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #292

There is a new challenge starting now at AAA Cards. For the next two weeks, we have a sketch challenge for you.

When I saw the sketch, I knew what I wanted to do. Here's my card.

I used Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Candles stencils (of which there are three layers). I "masked" off the individual candles with scraps of paper. I used distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes, in rainbow order, wilted violet, blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon, mowed lawn, twisted citron, squeezed lemonade, carved pumpkin, candied apple for the candles. For the first layer, I used a light hand and applied minimal ink. For the second more decorative layer, I applied more ink using the same distress inks for a tone-on-tone look. For the tops of the candles, the third layer, I used mustard seed distress ink, again applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages. When I started, I wasn't completely certain where I was going so I ink blended on a white A2 card panel. In retrospect, I could have started with a white A2 card base and created a one-layer card. What I did to complete my card, is adhere the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you are inspired by our sketch. Add your creations to our gallery for us and others to see.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #494

We have a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! Our next challenge in our rotation is

Here's my card

Sadly, I've needed some sympathy cards recently. I used a technique I saw Gina K do here. I adapted it to work for me. I used the silhouette stamp from Gina K Design's Wild Blossoms stamp set. I stamped it on a white A2 panel for my base and again on three panels of gray, in differing shades. I cut four 1/2" strips from the bottom. I adhered one strip from each color over the original stamped panel, leaving the bottom 1/2" original. If you're following along, I have extra 1/2" strips. So I stamped two more panels for a base and adhered the gray 1/2" strips. Boom - three cards. Here they are. I tried a light gray base, not sure if it worked as well as the white base.

I adhered the panels to white A2 note cards to complete my cards. Three more sympathy cards for my stash.

We'd love to see your "any occasion" cards in our gallery.
